I've seen them all except for My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and The Heirs. I totally agree that there is a summer feel in all of these dramas...of course Coffe Prince is my all time favourite which I have rewatched many times. :)
My favourite out of these three is Lookout, however I am also enjoying Fight for my Way. I am not watching My Sassy Girl but I am happy that it's going well in Korea. :)
I will definitely be watching Criminal Minds and Fabrication (I have been waiting to see Nam Gung Min in a serious role again for a while as I skipped most of his comedies).
I am not so sure about Bride of the Water God as I am not into fantasy dramas and I am also not sure about Strongest Delivery Man as it seems weird for me to see Go Kyung Po as the lead (even though I admit he is a good actor), so I will wait for the first opinions.
I will definitely skip School 2017 and, oddly enough being a saeguk lover, The King Loves as the plot/cast don't appeal to me. :)
This is an interesting list. I had no idea that N. 6 was Ha Ji Won's brother and I really appreciated his acting in King's daughter. Out of this list I also know numbers 3,2 and 1 and I agree that they are all good actors who still haven't found a big hit drama to star in. I hope they will all have their chance soon (also the ones I don't know).
So glad that Gong Yoo, Lee Jun Gi and Park Seo Joon made it in your personal list. I like all the others too, but these three would be at the very top of my list in any case. :-)
Thanks for this article. I have always been a great fan of saeguks and I have watched many of them in the past years. I never really checked if they depicted some real historical events but I always trusted that there must have been some truth in their plots.
I have learnt so much about Korean history also about Korea's relationship with China and Japan. I don't think I will ever get tired of them.
Out of the ones you listed my favourite is definitely Saimdang which was beautiful and poetic too, and at the moment Queen for Seven days is proving to be just as amazing. :)
Thanks for this article. I am litterally loving this drama to bits. The pacing, the writing and the acting are fabulous and I knew Kim Young Kwang had a great talent that still hadn't come out. He's nailing his role here. :)
Great list of charismatic villains, they were all amazing in their roles...there are a few more out there who really made me hate them but who were also charming...one is definitely Nam Gyu Man in Remember and another is Choi Min Soo in Warrior Baek Dong Soo. :)
This drama was a pleasant watch for me. It was nothing serious or particularly intriguing but nevertheless it was fun to watch the story of a secret agent for once from a romcom point of view. I really liked all the cast involved, including the villains who did a great job. For me the main couple was really well suited as they were both quirky and different from the usual leads. This was a welcomed break from the angst of many other Korean dramas out there. :)
Thanks for this article. I enjoyed the Korean remake of Liar Game although I admit I never watched the original, and the same goes for Fated to Love you. Also I might be one of the few who preferred the Japanese version of You're Beautiful to the original. So some remakes can turn out to be pretty good.
Of course there are also cases in which I much preferred the original like for the Korean remake of Nodame Cantabile or the Korean remake of Scarlet Heart. :)
This was a really lovely drama. It started out a bit choppy but after the first few episodes the story took off and became more and more involving and amazing as it unfolded. This was most of all a story of a beautiful friendship which overcame so many obstacles. I enjoyed everything about this drama including the filming and OSTs. As far as I am concerned it could become a real novel. :-)
Great article!! I am really enjoying this drama... the story is intriguing and every character is really awesome but I really, really love the dog!! ;)
I expected much more from this drama because of whom the leads were.
I have to say that the plot had some clever parts, especially all the different twists and turns of the law which managed to always revert the situations so one side or the other were never sure until the end to have won the battle.
However unfortunately there was no chemistry at all between the two leads so the romance part seemed totally forced and I found the acting to be on the whole much better by the second leads (strangely Lee Bo Young seemed rather stiff at times).
Therefore this drama was neither good nor bad but I wouldn't feel like recommending it.
I just finished watching this drama and the first thing I feel like saying is...C-dramas are back for me!! After a long period of not finding anything of my taste I finally found a drama that got me really addicted especially in the first half.
The aspects I enjoyed the most here were the dialogues and in particular those amongst the main leads...finally a couple that falls in love because of their intellectual connection more than their physical attraction !! Every time the two leads argued medical cases with each other they were really becoming that much closer psychologically.
Unfortunately I can't rate this drama with a full 10 as I would have wanted as for me it had a sudden drop towards the middle when medical problems/jargon were the only focus of the episodes. I understand this was a medical drama, but what made it different for me were the personal problems perfectly mixed with the every day life at the hospital, so its politics/dynamics were not that interesting for me.
The cast was great and I enjoyed Jin Dong's portrayal of the tormented genus surgeon although I would have been happier if he were a little less stiff in the very few romantic moments with Lu Chen.
On the whole however it was an amazing drama which I highly recommend...hoping that there will be more like this from now on. :)
They will be missed but as you wrote time does fly. I realised this when Jae Joong went for military service and he was back before I realized that the two years had almost gone by. :)
I only have six episodes to go and I will finish it in the coming days. So far it has been wonderful although I found it a little draggy and too technical in the midddle. I will probably give it a high rating too. :)
