ps. I just read your profile and most of your favourites are my favourites too. I am also a LMH fan and I loved what you learned about Korean dramas, it made me laugh as it is so true! :0)

thanks Mirichan and the same to you!! Merry Christmas and a very, very happy New Year (and full of great dramas to watch!). ;0)
this is a great article, thanks for writing it!! I also believe the OSTs give a great contribution to the beauty of a drama. Of the ones you posted above I only know the ones of A Gentleman's dignity, Faith and Secret Garden but there are many, many more that have stayed in my heart and always remind me of the stories. The Koreans are very, very good at making wonderful music, thanks again for writing this.

Hi Bladey, I was very happy to see you back here. I also want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2013 full of joy and good things. I look forward to hearing what dramas you have been watching lately so we can exchange our respective views on them. Take care.
I am a big,big fan of Arashi therefore I appreciate Jun very much indeed mostly for his singing. As far as his acting career goes I have only fully watched Lucky Seven and dropped Bambino and Smile only for the plots which I didn't like and not because of his acting skills which are very good. I will have to watch his most famous dramas whilst waiting for a future good project.
I just finished this awesome drama. It is definitely something that can't be watched in a relaxed manner as the character of Maru draws the viewer in a turmoil of emotions which are often confused but very, very deep. I have to say that Song Joong Ki did an amazing job here and deserved his recent award as his acting was definitely the best in the story. I personally didn't enjoy too much the tug of war that went on in the story between SJK and his ex-girlfriend as it was too confusing to understand exactly what feelings they had for each other however the writer did write a convincing plot with a surprising ending. I gave it a 9 as I enjoyed it but I am not sure if I will watch it again.
I just finished this drama and I have to say that it deserved the highest share of the season in Japan, mostly because it was very well made with a fast rhythm to each episode. Even though it wasn't particularly original as it reminded me of House MD, I thought that the idea of her being a pretty and sexy woman doctor was good and the fact that she went against the rules and the general 'male' domination in hospitals was convincing. The OST fitted perfectly with the story and all in all this was a high quality medical drama that I would recommend. I would have preferred it to have a real flow of the story rather than having separate 'cases' episodes which is why I am only rating it with an 8.
I have only seen him in Tatta Hitotsu no Koi and I agree that his acting was superb there and the drama on the whole was very convincing. The only other drama that I have seen with him is Sapuri and I wasn't impressed not so much for his acting but for the whole story which was rather flat, IMO. I still have to see fireworks with this actor as I haven't watched many of the dramas in this list...his future might be more promising!!
This is a very, very good drama!! I enjoyed every minute of it and it made me want to know more about that historical time period and that type of University. I read that this story was taken from a book and I would be very interested to find the English version but was not lucky so far. In any case I really appreciated the four main leads as they made a great team: each of them had a very definite and particular personality that blended well with all the others and the story is fun and interesting. I absolutely loved the setting, the costumes and the OST...this is another very well made drama that I highly recommend and that I will certainly rewatch soon.
Amongst the Korean actresses I also like Park Min Young (City Hunter, Sungkyunkwan Scandal) and amongst the Japanese Ayase Haruka (Jin, Hotaru no Hikari etc.)Thanks for your article, I will have to watch more dramas as I don't know many of these actresses.
I commented on FB and I will do so on here too. This drama is good, I am enjoying it because it gives moral teachings but in a very lighthearted and comedy type way which is why it is a pleasant watch. For the question in the review I vote for Kimura Takuya.
wow, I almost missed this article and it would have been a real pity if I did as it is great! I totally agree with the Japanese list...my favourites are Takuya Kimura, Fujiki Naohito and Arata. I don't know any of the Taiwanese and out of the Koreans I only know two but one is worth a million and this is Gong Yoo...he is absolutely fabulous!!
What a big disappointment this drama was for me! I totally agree with the negative reviews on here. I gave it a 6 only for the side story between the Manager and Dong Ha which was hilarious otherwise it would have been a 3 from me. This is neither a romcom nor a mystery drama... it was just a big mess and I agree that only the first episodes were fun and interesting and by the end of it I felt somewhat cheated as I was expecting much more if I stood by those episodes.I felt no chemistry at all between the main leads even after they discovered they had feelings for each other and let me say that I might be the only one in here who didn't find any charm at all in Lee Dong Wook? And what was the side story revolving around the best friend and his wife all about, did they suddenly go crazy? I really felt like dropping this halfway through and I don't recommend this at all.
have you seen the Japanese version of this drama? It is absolutely brilliant!!
Exactly the same: My Boss My Hero and it was broadcasted in 2006.

My thoughts about Big are that it is a shame that they ruined the ending (which was only the last 10 minutes of the last episode) as it seemed to spoil the whole drama for many viewers, whereas it didn't for me. Infact I found it quite logical (in relation to the story obviously as we all know that in real life what happened in the story is not possible)as anything else would have been awkward. In any case Gong Yoo definitely saved the whole drama and I will certainly rewatch it soon as his acting is brilliant as always...I am now eagerly waiting for his next drama hoping that there will be some action in it too!
ps. thanks for recommending Baker King, I had no idea that Joo Won was in another good drama, I will watch it soon.
