Thanks so much for this info. My hopes for the Korean 2013 dramas are really high since many of the ones of 2012 were of really high level. Of the ones you list here, the one I am mostly interested in is Live for Love. I hope it will be as good as the latest sageuk dramas.

I have only seen Kim Soo Hyun, Hyun Bin and Lee Min Ho out of all these and I agree that they are really good at making the viewer experience the sadness and despair that they are feeling.

Title Queen and I
I just finished this drama and I have to say that I am very happy with it. I agree that the time travelling part can remind one of RTP, but the plot here is developed in a totally different way and the love story is really heart melting. The two factors that I appreciated most of this story are: the fact that the villains are not unbearable like in RTP and most of all the main characters are very, very clever and have a beautiful and warm personality. It is not a drama that I will rewatch as it didn't blow me away which is why I gave it an 8, however I was happy I watched it as it gave me a very positive and warm feeling of wellbeing.

I totally love this article!!! Infact this was the main reason why I first started to watch Japanese dramas (and now have moved on to Korean dramas). I wanted to learn more about their ways of life, their society, their history and their language and even if it sounds unbelievable to those who never watch dramas I have learnt so much from them. Sometimes, when stories are not so involving, I focus mainly on these factors than on the story itself and I find them extremely fascinating. Like you state also some aspects of history are interesting as for example I didn't know anything about the Japanese occupation in Korea before watching Bridal Mask. I am so glad to realize that many others share the same interests as myself.

I just finished watching this awesome drama. I am probably biased as I love saeguks and I found this drama very beautiful to watch because of the great settings, costumes and OST. The story was interesting, although I would have enjoyed it more if it had less magic, the acting was good for most actors except for the queen in her older version which is why I am giving it a 9. Unfortunately I felt there was not so much chemistry between the two mostly because of her lack of facial expressions, whereas the king was superb (both in the younger and older versions)which adds another actor to my list of whom to keep an eye on in the future.

Being a Jdrama fan I have to say that this year I had a problem in deciding which was the best drama of the year as I wasn't particularly impressed with any of them. I have watched quite a few of the ones listed here and I have to agree with the majority of the Internet viewers who stated that RMPW was the best if not for the fast rhythm of the story, the great acting (especially of the two male leads)and the catching OST. I also enjoyed Priceless, Ataru and Kagi but mainly for the good acting and not so much for the stories themselves. The Japanese seem to enjoy their detective type dramas a lot, whereas I am not so fond of detached episodes with single cases to be solved. I would add Doctor X to this list as I found it original and I enjoyed the rhythm of the episodes. I personally hope that 2013 will be a better year for Jdramas.

I really appreciated this actor in King2Hearts and I have Shining Inheritance in my 'Plan to Watch List'. I agree that he is good and I will wait for his future projects with curiosity.

I haven't watched any of the above dramas however according to my personal taste even some Jdramas of 2012 with slightly higher ratings were a disappointment. To name a few Monsters, Kekkon Shinai and Going My Home.

Out of all these I have only seen Kang Ma Roo of Innocent Man and I totally agree that he is so fascinating that it is difficult to get him out of ones mind. However another 2012 character that was extremely awesome for me was Lee Kang To in Bridal Mask.

I enjoyed this article very much indeed. I only watched Big and Rooftop Prince out of all these and I have to admit that Big had an incomprehensible ending even though it was good, in my opinion, until the very end. Whereas for what concerns Rooftop Prince I totally agree that the plot had many holes which spoiled the story for me.

I didn't like Wild Romance at all, I hardly beared A Gentleman's Dignity and I enjoyed Big until the very last 5 minutes of the last episode. I haven't watched the others but I will watch Reply 1997 sooner or later as it overtook Bridal Mask of a few points.

The only thing about this drama that swept me off my feet was the OST which I found wonderful and some really funny scenes at the beginning. However the story for me was not as great as it could have been as it had a big potential thanks to the very good actors and the original idea. What spoilt it for me were the over the top villain characters and how everyone bore with their actions without trying to defend themselves or figuring out many obvious facts. The ending left me unimpressed but I wasn't disappointed either as it was in line with the whole story. This is a drama that unfortunately I will not rewatch for sure as I couldn't go through all the unfairness that the main female character has to face all over again.
On Kekkon Shinai Dec 27, 2012
This drama had a quiet and poetic aura to it as it was related to flowers and painting. However, I personally really didn't find the story particularly interesting as the plot was almost non existent. I was expecting a lot from it because of the cast of high level but it left me quite disappointed. I will give it a 6 only for the nice settings and hope for future better projects for all of these actors.

I absolutely loved Faith (I have already watched it twice) so I agree it was the best time-travelling drama of the year. I am watching Rooftop Prince at the moment and although it is not half as convincing it is funny in places and I like the lead actors. I have Queen in Hyun's man coming up next and I hope I enjoy it too.
