Thanks for your info, I will check it out straight away. Yes I imagined Joo Won had a different personality to Gaksital in real life from a few clips I read here and there and I am curious to see what he is like. I am hoping to watch Ojakgyo Brothers soon too...did you see it?

I haven't seen any of the dramas mentioned above but I want to mention the second lead of City Hunter (the Prosecutor) and the second lead of King2Hearts (the Captain) who absolutely conquered my heart, and there are other dramas out there were second male leads sometimes shine even more than the main characters (Yoon Kye Sang in The Greatest Love comes to mind, not to mention the second lead in Bridal Mask Park Ki Woong who was just as good as the main lead).

Hi 4winkay I didn't know about 1N2D and it is not listed here on Mydramalist either, is it being shown at the moment and what is it about?

I have only watched Secret Garden, Coffee Prince and Buzzer Beat out of all these and I agree that they are very romantic! Sungkyunkwan Scandal is on my soon to be seen list and I will add all the other ones on my plan to watch list. Thanks for this article!

On Dalja's Spring Nov 25, 2012
I really enjoyed this drama mostly because of the very believable and realistic plot. My favourite aspect was the strong and independent personality of Oh Dal Ja and her optimism and self-confidence. This is a perfect drama that shows how women can rely on themselves without necessarily getting married at a pre-determined age. I appreciated everyone's acting here which was top notch including that of the second leads. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a pleasant and enjoyable watch.

I agree for the Japanese about Yamapi and Matsuda Shota and for the Koreans absolutely about Lee Min Ho and Joo Won. I would have included in the Korean list also Gong Yoo and in the Japanese list Kimura Takuya, it's a shame that they almost made it but didn't get amongst the top 5.

I know this is late but I only just finished watching Bridal Mask so I can make the comparison. Personally I find it very difficult to make a choice between the two dramas as both had me very involved emotionally and I enjoyed every minute of both of them. I would say however that Bridal Mask had a more complicated plot as it was based on historical facts and it was also a lot more violent than CH with all the torture scenes too, therefore with a higher emotional impact for the viewer. Therefore I would say that Bridal Mask wins with a very, very close tie with City Hunter.

The first drama I ever watched in my life and got me hooked to drama watching was Long Vacation. This was the drama that boosted Kimura Takuya's fame in Japan because it had an incredible success and it is still considered an all time classic by most drama lovers. After this I 'stalked' him and watched most of the dramas mentioned above...my favourite all in all, besides LV, is Nankyoku Tairiku because it is such a heartbreaking story and KT's acting is as always superb there. Another one of my favourites is The Grand Tribe because it is another incredibly moving story. In any case there is no doubt that he is a fantastic actor mostly because he seems very natural in all the roles he plays.

I found this article really interesting and in particular the comparison between Germany in Europe and Japan in Asia. Before watching Bridal Mask I also had no idea that Korea had been taken over by Japan at that time and this drama made that suffering come to live. My favourite character was absolutely Kang To because his change of personality was outstanding going from a violent and insensitive man to a generous and loving person. On the other hand Shunji's change did not move me in the least as I somehow think it is easier to move to the bad side especially when one has power, money and the army on ones side. He had a chance to stop being cruel many times but persevered so there is no pity for him at all.

Title Bridal Mask
This is truly an AMAZING drama. It's heartbreaking all through the story but wonderfully acted by all the cast. It totally deserves one of the highest rankings on here and I recommend it to all drama lovers as it is really at the peak of perfection. I will certainly rewatch it when I will be mentally prepared to go through the whole emotional turmoil again.
On The Great Doctor Nov 14, 2012
This drama was really awesome. It had just the right amount mixture of fantasy and history to make it highly enjoyable and not too unrealistic. I absolutely loved the setting, the costumes, the OST, the acting of all the characters. (including secondary ones like the Doctor, the soldiers, the Aunt of the General). The king and queen deserve a special mentioning because their characters absolutely gave a deep meaning to the story. What can I say about Lee Min Ho? Well he was amazing and I hope there will be many more incredible dramas with him as the main actor in the future.

I never realized these were cliche's in Korean dramas, so this article was an eye opener for me. Thanks. :0)

this was a very relaxing and enjoyable drama. Even if the main characters are older than the average drama actors…
If you don't like romance this is OK because the love story is not so evident. Uchida Yuki does not play such a fundamental role in this drama though.
