This is my new Reply20XX! It’s sweet when a heartwarming story meets a great cast! I’m looking forward to all the seasons! U-Ju and Mo-ne twin are my OTP couple.
It’s depressing in the beginning episodes. I could barely stand to watch. Then, it brings in some comedy and gets even better as you start to see main lead get mentally stronger. Guo Jin Fei is doing great in the lead role.
Recently, he said that Love is Love and supports any form of love. That 'this' shouldn't be separated from straight…

YOU WROTE THIS: “... So I was disconcerted and saddened when I saw an interview on Youtube in which Bright seems to say that he found playing a character in a male same-sex love story alien and disagreeable. ... it's always depressing to hear a straight actor dismissing gay characters and male/male love with disdain. “ It’s defamation (and irresponsible) unless you can prove Bright said it!
He has so much experience in acting. Just look at that face WOW!! This makes me question my boyfriend ??????????????????????????❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤??????????⚘
I like all the actors and adore the children. The kids playing the Little Emperor and his best friend/bodyguard are superb! Glad to see Lee Min Ho doing what he does best...dazzle!
It has some cute moments that I like in this type of drama. I agree that it’s a bit syrupy and made me cringe way too often. Characters were too naive. The sad parts felt forced and the ending was rushed. Not worth watching twice. 7.5/10
I found a list of male actors that have portrayed a Peking opera singer for my research on bilibili. leaving it…
Good info. I’ve seen both Farewell My Concubine and M. Butterfly. Both are great. Ma Tianyu has the face to play a female opera role. He’s prettier than most girls!
I need to see him in more dramas and movies! He holds his own in the scene with the male lead and that is not easy. I’m referring to his role in Winter Begonia. I have not seen his other dramas.
The writer worked hard to make this below average. It’s boring and way too long. The title and first 10 episodes draw you in. The other episodes are weak because of the poor storyline, excessive irrelevant characters and the extra length. I skipped through more than half of the episodes near the end. I wanted to see if the main couple stayed together. Even that revelation was uneventful. Only the early episodes are worth watching. Drop the rest. 7/10
This is absolutely my favorite drama of 2020! I’m at episode 32. The drama is high quality in all aspects including acting, directing and storyline. Chinese opera was like nails on a chalkboard before I watched this. I’m beginning to understand and appreciate it a bit after seeing (and hearing) the background of it unfold in this storyline.
