It’s worth it. It’s the right length and the story doesn’t get too boring. The main actors are tops in their…
It’s about the main couple, the man from a rich distinguished law family and the women from an abusive poor family, who end up opposing each other in cases as details of the negative sides of their family issues unveil. There is on and off romance between them that is cute and sexy at times because they are both domineering. There is a good mix of comedy, drama and some romance.
The sets and scenery were the best parts of the drama. Storyline was typical for this type of melodrama. Acting was average except for the acting of Qui Shui’s father who was exceptional during his sad scenes. Requires watching seasons 1 and 2 for this to make sense. 7.5/10
Why do I find Sui Zhou super hot every time he shows up on my screen?
It’s surprising how his character doesn’t realize the impact his natural hotness has on women like the restaurant owner giving him large portions of food served with a smile and a hair twirl! It makes him hotter, if that’s even possible!
It’s decent, but not great. Must watch both seasons. Looks like they just sliced one drama into two parts without any smooth transitions between the seasons. The last episode just abruptly stopped in the first episode. Also, English subs and formatting on iqiyi are bad for this drama. The dialogue is not associated with an actor. The subs just flow together from one person to the next. I had to pause and rewind a few times to understand the conversation.
It’s a good thing it’s under 2 hours long. I could barely make it through to the end. It’s one big cliche. The male lead character is definitely physically aggressive and borderline abusive! He took out his anger by forcibly kissing, bumping and pushing the female lead character. It was hard to watch. I’m used to the wrist grab-and-drag. This is beyond that. It’s a low budget movie with a basic storyline and weak dialogue. Not worth watching. 6.5/10
He seems much more experienced than his age in the Ming Dynasty drama. I’m surprised he’s that young. He’s killing the role of the empowered court eunuch! He has a great future in acting.
It’s very good through the 10 episodes I have seen. It has a great balance of comedy with enough detective mystery to make it interesting and not overwhelming. I thought there would be death defying action scenes in every episode with Jackie Chan’s named tied to it. But, there is mostly good dialogue and character building. The action scenes are good when they come up, of course. The chemistry between the actors is the best part of this drama, so far. They play well together. Looking forward to the rest.
It would be nice if they could all get along in this version. Not likely. Her husband sees the opera singer as…
No mistress is acceptable. But, a spouse endures/ tolerates it to keep some sort of relationship. Unfortunately, the husband could believe if he is a good provider to his family, a good father and loves his wife (he seems to treat her well when they are together), then, he should be allowed to indulge outside the home to add to his emotional needs. Also, He is allowed in his male dominated society to have an outside relationship. But, he sees nothing wrong with his bromance or the impact it has on his wife. It’s complicated.
Strangely, i like mrs.cheng...This is the first time i like female lead in the bl adaptation drama. She's a rich,…
It would be nice if they could all get along in this version. Not likely. Her husband sees the opera singer as much more than a BFF. He called him his soul mate, usually the title the spouse holds. That connection is much deeper than a mistress because they connect on a deeper level through opera where the wife can’t compete. The wife sees how passionate her husband is about his new friend and the world of opera. The husband is clueless about the wife’s insecurities. She has to feel threatened especially when he stays out all night.
I love a Chris Wu drama since Autumn’s Concerto and my favorite, King Flower. This falls in line. Very enjoyable! Not too scary. The female lead is talented. And they told the whole story in only 6 episodes. 8.5/10
It’s average through episode 17 and well below average after that. It’s not worth watching the last half. I only made it through the first half because of the main actors. I started watching for them. I stopped watching several times because of the poor, almost insulting, storyline. Plus, the olive green makeup on Jeremy made him look like Jim Carrey in The Mask movie! I can’t recommended this one. 7/10
