Interesting take, but I'd disagree given most of season 2 was about CX trying to get with XY. Plus I think it…
"It goes to CX, but it doesn't take, which is why it can be transferred to XL later, when there is love between XL and XY."
In ep 12 season 1, it is explained that she didn't know that this "poisonous bug" was in fact a "love poisonous bug", and how it worked in reality. The old man explains to XL, that "The planting of it relies on affection, and so does the removal of it. If it hasn't been planted for long, and it's not yet stable, it could be transferred to an other person. But this person must have love in his heart." Not Xiao Yao, but him.
XL does love Xiao Yao, that's why the bug can be transferred into him. And XY loves CX, that's why it could have been planted into his heart by her in the first place. XL accepts the transfer by love. Xiao Yao doesn't know this. She is intrigued by him, she is attracted to him, and she has sympathy for him, but she doesn't love him back as he loves her. XL's love is of a heroic kind, and it's a way of redemption for him (he killed countless of people during his long life). For his redemption, his love had to be completely selfless, act in secret and without being reciprocated fully. Only by this way could he have a personal evolution/redemption.
It is so goo. I remember not liking his character in Lost you Forever s2 but his acting and voice made me watch…
I hated the concept of Lost you Forever (3 ML for FL), so I skipped it when it aired, but I began to watch now because of Zhang Wan Yi. I find his character the most interesting among all. :)
When I saw him for the first time in "Are you the one?" his voice sounded not corresponding to his young looks, to the point that I checked immediately who was the voice actor. I was very surprised to learn that it was his own voice. His voice is special in a positive way, and he is a stunning actor.
Loved how fast paced it was. It might be due to episode restraint with capping it at ep 40, but it felt like the…
"I felt like she had so much potentials with the loveline with the Royal Princess' son. They were waaay cuter!"
I had the same feeling. Yixiu and the Royal Princess' son would have been a very good, natural, shinny pairing, while with the uncle, her pairing felt completely artificial, with zero chemistry, just forced there for the sake of the script (but it didn't ruin the show for me, as the main couple was excellent).

"especially since he confronts XY a few times about Jing and even killed him."
In the novel, but in the series, he didn't kill Jing.
"CX had the best chance to win XY once he found her again"
The entire series is about their missed opportunities. CX was about to tell her in ep10 when drinking wine together, that he came to Qingshui Town because he was looking for his sister (not knowing she was his sister), but finally he didn't tell, and missed a chance. Then again and again. I had the feeling that Jing could offer XY a kind and tender love, XL could offer her a passionate love, while CX both, plus, the sense of belonging and home. So he had the complete package that someone can have in romantic love - and only him - but the tragedy was that he couldn't offer her that, because he didn't choose love. With him, she could have it all, or nothing, and she had nothing.
I like the poster with the 3 men and the FL in the center. CX is above everybody, his love - the complete package - is inaccessible to her. Of course this is just my opinion.. This series is interesting because it can lead to so many reflections :)

"most of season 2 was about CX trying to get with XY."
He had some timid attempts (when she was sleeping, she had her eyes closed, or when they were drunk :D) but he confessed to her only in the last episode.
"it ignores an important point, i.e. the Lovers Bugs." When she is tortured in ep9, she thinks about her happiest memory in life, and it's when she was with CX as kid. At the same moment, he thinks about her too, and she was also the happiest memory in his life, and the bug goes to him (it refused to go to XL). They were destined to be together, and the whole show is about how they messed up their love (by the fault of CX). That's why it begins with them, and it ends with CX being lonely and thinking about her.
Ok, my highly biased opinion: This series is so weird. The man FL loved the most was the only one who has never tried to get romantically involved with her. :P Two men were proposed to replace him, to give her the emotions that ML couldn't offer her. Fans argue mostly about the two "love interests" of FL, which one is her "true love", because the most important man in her life decided to not even enter the love game (the reasons of this were already much discussed). Xiao Yao thought that Cang Xuan was incapable to have romantic emotions, so she kept that part of her heart closed for him, since the very beginning. Also, she tested him a few times, but he kept proving consistently that he had no romantic feelings for her (how could he marry other women, and throw her in the arms of men, otherwise?) So at the end, she got to know his real feelings towards her too late. I usually don't watch this kind of stories, which is about misunderstandings between FL-ML till the end. But I was curious to see Zhang Wan Yi as a cold, ruthless, negative character. Only to see that he wasn't that at all. :P
One of the last sentences of this series is "You are bound to meet one day" (talking about Cang Xuan and Xiao Yao). I think that this sentence was not accidentally put there at the end, and I can imagine a sequel in which Xiao Yao runs away from Jing to avoid an early death by boredom. :P
I'm so definitely here for Zhang Wan Yi. This is the 3rd drama I watched him as ML. And among the 3, his character…
" And among the 3, his character here is way better comparing to the 2 dramas of him that I've seen."
I prefer also LSY and he played it very well 😊 I don't mind conservative characters, but it's true that the romance part could have been better written during the last episodes.
"they knew since young they were "siblings" before the reveal." In the first episode, they are complete strangers…
"suddenly his sisterly care (his geniune way of helping her as both of them tries to help each other) turned into romantic one"
It's the other way round for him, I think. At the beginning, he stared at her in admiration several times, obviously finding her very pretty.
But as he thought that she was his sister, he didn't nurture these kind of feelings towards her. But from the moment that he could, he immediately let it develop.
From her side, I don't understand either, because she clearly "brother zoned" him after such a long sibling relationship. Even if their relationship was in reality like a platonic love, and not like a real brother-sister relationship (there was a rare understanding between them, like between soul mates). But even with that, she thought for real that he was her brother, for quite a long time. So the change in her feelings would have been much more believable if they had shown a few more scenes of this process. I felt that this part wasn't well developed, and this is for me one of the weakness of this otherwise excellent series. And to be honest, I could enjoy this series only because I knew from the very beginning that they weren't real siblings at all. :)
Just recently started this drama. Now, I'm halfway through it. I like the story. The plot is interesting and the…
"they knew since young they were "siblings" before the reveal."
In the first episode, they are complete strangers to each other, neither of them recognize the other as sibling, so in reality, they don't know each other at all (and later on, it is shown that their behavior is awkward toward each other, as it would be with a stranger, for example, when they are together in the cave).
In this story, neither of the couples that you mentioned belonged to the same biological family. (Interesting…
"In the main lead couple it was literally the screenwriter racking his/her brain figuring out how to get them married." They insisted on the fact that they didn't grow up together (last time that they have seen each other she was like 6 years old). And he was aware very rapidly that she wasn't his sister. On her side, this is an other story, I agree with that ;)

I wanted the FL run away whenever he appeared near her. :D
