Exactly. Red flag males are called hot and desirable, they can never do no wrong. Red flag females are called…
In "The Rise of Ning", the 2ML was a psycho red flag, and there were many comments on MDL describing him as such, and finding him very repulsive... (but it's true that some woman find this type of character attractive - at least on screen).
I super loved the chemistry of the leads in this show. What made enjoy this less in the latter parts is they wrote…
"Both are just selfish bunch of privileged assholes who felt wronged and the world owes them plus didn't acknowledge their mistakes until the end."
I know such people in real life (they don't murder people fortunately, but the rest is true - they probably won't acknowledge their mistakes until the end of their lives, and everything is always the other people's fault.)
This emperor really made my blood boil. The Princess murdered countless people and committed other heinous crimes…
This was insupportable, but shows the hypocrisy of the royal family, and probably the whole society at that time. They always hide the reality, if it's not favorable to their reputation.

One of my favorite scenes is the hand holding in ep 16. They were really like a young couple holding hands for the first time. She was very embarrassed but very happy at the same time. One of the cutest and most realistic scenes I've ever seen in a costume drama. :)
This is an unbelievable drama. It's hard to understand why they ruined the drama in the last 4 episodes. It seems…
"A piece of advice? Watch only until episode 35."
I agree 100%. It was a really good drama until that episode, then they forced almost all the characters to behave out of character, the story just didn't make sense. It's really sad because the last few episodes could have been even better than the rest, since it was the final, the most interesting arc. And they completely ruined it. :((((

I've watched all of Zhang Wanyi's costume dramas, and the rest of them have only a few romantic scenes (even though they're supposed to be romantic dramas). So in his previous dramas, the romance was nothing like in this one. But in an interview they said that he improvised some gestures on the spot in "Are you the one" and those were very cute scenes, so..
No. He is so much better in Costume dramas. He also suited the characters very well. You should watch Are You The…
It seems I'm your opposite when it comes to drama watching. :D
My criteria: - it has to be a costume drama, preferably historical - with actors/actress I enjoy watching (there are only a few...) - have a fun, good story: a mix of adventure-mystery-romance.. - and a happy ending.
Only 3-4 dramas per year meet these criteria, so I don't watch dramas very often :D
They are called crazy and repulsive, by many women. ;)

You have brain, but you don't use it.
You have an ally, but you don't cooperate with him."
You just summarized the story of the last episodes... 😂
