this show should have season2 because there’s no way they can shove plot behind KMC/ JH parents’ death. It’s so crazy that this drama is only aired one episode per week and kept getting delayed at that😂

I found it annoying when the main leads get together. Like the FL only thinks about the ML instead of saving her father. Like hello miss gurl I thought you believe in your father. ML is just lovesick childish puppy who’s mission is just impressing FL. Up to ep11 he’s still the same with very little character development.
I’m not a fan of romance in this kind of drama too btw.

I’m at ep12 now but this drama is getting boring. I will probably stay for kim kwon’s character because I want to know his past but at this rate I can already guess. He’s shady as hell.
The main leads um I don’t find them interesting enough. ML has specialty but up to 12 eps still childish & dumb imo. The character development is not working on him. His acting is okay but I don’t like his character at all. With his speciality, it’s amazing that he cabturn his character into such lame character who failed to understand even basic knowledge conversation of other characters. I hate dumb character.
FL this girl…After falling in love she quickly became weak and love brain. Like I can’t even feel her heartwarming love of her adult self towards her father who’s unfairly accused (the child actress did well tho). She said she wanted to find truth about her father but I only sawher journey falling in love with ML instead of seeking truth about her father. At one point, all she thought about is the ML instead of her father. She didn’t even go visiting her father much at the jail lol she’s so unbelievable as a daughter who loves her father dearly. She’s easily wavered when people especially ML questioned her father’s innocence. Frustrating FL who’s smart but dedicated herself to an equally frustrating M, ended up becoming dumb.

I agree and what’s up with ‘school romance air’ whenever there’s scene of her with that male student. This kind of drama doesn’t need that air. I found both of them unnecessarily annoying but I know the dude is related to the case. It’s ridiculius enough the lil sis is there on every cases😅

for this kind of drama to only relase 1 episode per week is such unfortunate. They gave cliffhanger and we need to wait till next week to know. It’s killing the hype & curiousness. Some people will already forget the previous episodes. For those who’s interested to watch, my advise is to wait till it finishes airing. It’s worth watching but 1ep per week is ridiculous.

I’m actually annoyed with the Ing kid who betrayed her mother and always sided with the dumb father who also betrayed his own wife for keeping her in the dark about Jaa. The mom always wanted to protect her daughter while the dumb dad kept putting everyone in danger, making his own daughter as sacrifice. Even tho it’s sad for the mother losing Ing in the end, maybe Jaa deserves a mom more than Ing.. oh well.
This movie was quite good with the clear POV of main casts. The pace was also quite fast, it didn’t beat around the bush with too much meaningless scenes imo. Like it went straight to house rent in the beginning. Worth watching, not too horror imo

In fact, XZ & RM first met on this variety show as XZ was a guest singer for final episode, he sang live for the first time since his 227 incident in this show. Even most his stans seemed not to know about this. I know because I watched the show.

I agree, I’m not really a big fan of XZ but I can tell his acting now in TLP is so much better than JoL, TU or even OME, like what??? you’re comparing his acting now with his old dramas where his acting wasn’t even as polished as now?
I understand mandarin so I know his line delivery/dubbing is much better now.
These people are way too spoiled with overacting on idol dramas. They need to try watching tv drama like the Knock Out/The Long Season or something once in a while. Maybe their taste will be awakened watching the contrast of good quality acting compared to idol dramas. I’m not saying idol dramas acting is all bad but even some of the popular ones internationally were really bad acting😅

Your opinion is refreshing here, I agree about 70% of what you said. I also feel like the romance part is really lacking, like they don’t even want to seriously show us that. They’re like ‘here some romance for yall, be thankful’ and that’s just that. They dragged the shifu-disciple troupe too long imo. The dating part was just 2eps lol I know they cut a lot to shorten it but tbh the first 7 eps was dragging too, making passerby losing interest because of the slow plot. It picked up on ep8 with the disciples competition.

This drama wasn’t the same as Journey of Flower at all. If you wanted to compare, maybe Journey of Chong Zi would be close. Last 10 episodes, you will know why she had to be Zhu Yan. For someone her age, her acting was good especially for angst part. The cheeful part was natural to me. Beauty is in the eyes of beholders so I won’t comment on that. For me personally, she’s cute and later part, pretty on last 10eps.

now that the black marketing acc lessened, the real drama stans/passerby are more free to express their thoughts.

Ding Yuxi nailing his character as usual. YCY, she did improve imo but can be better. At least she can cry naturally now.
I will give a big clap to Xiangyun & Chu Kong’s parents tho, most of the time I got teary eyes were because of their scenes. The friendship between the fathers, Lao song & Lao Lu… very precious, till the end they didn’t betray each other. The actor who acted as Lao Lu, his teary eyes🥹 I love that this show also gave highlight to the parents’ love and sacrifices for the children, not just leads love life. This lifetime is not just about their love but mortal love for parents & other people as well. Like Chang Kong thinking for the country’s sake and other people life, not just Xiangyun.
This drama picked up at ep8 imo, before that I personally think it’s quite dull.

You can try Ray of Light, it was done airing about the same time as TLP & received great reviews with 8.4 rating on douban, also topped TV series drama. It’s a modern youth drama but not idol drama, the plot was heavier but it’s really good. And her most recognizable work was her movie, Cry Me A Sad River, this was her breakthrough when she was 18. Cnezt generally know her because of this movie & her palace drama Serenade of Peaceful Joy.
