The death of her parents was unavoidable, I think it’s so mean to put it that way when all she did was helping so many life of innocent merfolk clans. I think you have so many prejudice against her in the first place. She helped people because she thinks it’s the right way. I would help too if I were her. The incident that leads to her parents dying was not just some stupid action from her. SY was focused on killing the SE and she was also focused to help the merfolk clans to escape. She would like to ease the tension between two clans and she did manage to help but everything was hidden from her. She’s a natural kind hearted. If things can go in reverse, I think she would still help the merfolk clans to escape because it’s the only way to stop the war. But in the end, it’s the ice clan making trouble because they managed to lie to SY anyway

I agree with you. I think the plot was really too cruel towards her. If people really put themselves on her shoes, they will learn to understand her pov. She’s not illogical at all. A bit reckless sometimes yeah since she’s young but she’s not unreasonable at all imo

I really look forward to that drama, it seems like spy drama. The theme looks heavier but Ren Min is back rocking her short hair.
Btw her TV drama Ray of Light was so good too, it gets really good reviews

yup I also read the book. His father indeed knew what’s truly inside SY’s heart but he’s egoistic.
He knew SY loves ZY when he actually went to the palace to rescue her from consort Qing. Him teasing SY with ‘you have good eyes’ when he looked at Zy. He knew it.
True, I salute ZY for finally saying what she wanted to say for a long time. She got her chance and she grabbed it even tho she knew it will offend the emperor. SY deserved someone to protect him too and she did it.

true, they look especially cute together imo their scenes were also cute with mature/immature vibe, the contrast made it cute. Plus that with their acting skills synergy. But when they get serious whoaa they bring their A game water works.They worked very well together on bts as well.

exactly! it hits him hard when his father asked him that. I personally think his father purposedly said that, he knew SY loves ZY and he probably didn’t want thim to have any regret in life. He’s a bad father but still, he made a significant statement on that scene. It hurts SY to witness ZY getting the punishment while he can do nothing about it. The Emperor was also being lenient to ZY imo with the 40flogs because if it’s someone else, she can be surely beheaded.

yes3 I like that scene as well, it’s like him battling with himself. Between his ideal principle and what his heart truly yearns for. He missed her a lot too when she was away from him. I wish there’s more heartfelt confession scenes between them😌

yes he tried so hard to restraint himself and avoided her but his heart can’t even lie. He will always be there for her anyway. I also like this line ‘it feels even more like hell without her in the mountain’ quoting from the cultivator who died for his love😌

yup I totally like that convo too, it’s like SY was being hopeful about it ending well when he asked what happened in the end but when the old man said the cultivator eventually died during tribulation, like I can feel he’s a bit disappointed but quickly covered it up. He’s totally considering to do it😌

I did like it sometimes but most of the times I found it so messy. Like if you had watched other xianxia/wuxia you can tell they styled ZY’s bang horribly in certain scenes. Sometimes it looked too flat, no volume at all which didn’t suit her face shape😅

yea I saw the list of their dramas and was surprised to see a drama where both of them acted in. Ren Min was a military doctor in eps1-2, Xiao Zhan was on ep7-8. They’re fated to act in TLP together😌

Same, I will also drop dramas if one of the leads can’t manage to get me interested enough, be it acting or appearance wise but I will just drop the drama quietly without being mean and public shaming them especially when it comes to appearance. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholders anyway, people we don’t find attractive will have other people who admire their looks. To me, as as actors the acting department needs to be good first.

Not me who went to watch Heroes in Harm’s Way because there’s Xiao Zhan & Ren Min there😂 But they’re just guest roles on different episodes but it’s a good drama about Covid in Wuhan. I miss Shi Ying & Zhu Yan a lot, I have been repeating their great moments together and I finally managed to brainwash myself about the ending lol
