It's not like they dint question him about the king before tying him up so the excuse that they wanted to know about truth that's why they left him is irrelevant bcz he revealed everything before they arrested him. The evidences easily found and whatever happened to crown prince's son ?Did they kill him or not ?How did MC come n go in the end as he pleased?Maybe they invited him for that purpose only bcz the superintendent came in truce with the king and doesn't want to reveal that he killed the king so he invited Kyung Soo but again this job can be done by any other royal physician like Lee hyung ik who killed the crown prince right?
I don't know about how authentic the movie is in accordance to the history. Heavy political movie n good medical thriller or say poor n messy writing made it a good thriller, it fails in execution.I wanted to like it so much because acting is good,plot is good but so many coincidences,pure luck and unexplained scenes which couldn't be ignored turned me off. Still I enjoyed it,could have been much better with proper writing n execution even without thrill part.
Geez everything is mentioned in synopsis. The movie is decent one time watch about a liberal ,practical and ambitious woman. Even though she dint achieve anything major she still took stand bcz "mental peace" is most important and it's hard to let go of your closed ones especially family, which is why she is admirable.Must have been inspirational in those times.
Though she cared for her sister I was actually surprised that she was sarcastic n insensitive to her sister's tears on her husband's death. Maybe writer wants to show us her practical or 'attached to nothing' nature, still it was rude.
Mediocre setting but very gripping plot , great build up and good acting by both the lead actors.More than the result and investigation through interview it focused on psychological impact on the interviewer . Decent watch.
Non likeable main characters,crazy women and an abusive man ,i don't get what they see in him. But shouldn't forget that the original and this film were made at the time when there's no gender equality. I have only watched family movies of Yasujiro san and i prefer them over this bcz i personally feel like that's his area of expertise . Although this movie covered some psychological aspect like game of love and seduction, sad reality of life and troubles it was an ok movie. Cinematography is pretty and aesthetic, i liked the use of stone on walls and orange leaves. The rain scene was nice.
"and the life goes on" Tonnes of movies have been made on Parents and Children relationship and yet it hits differently. Its not a melodramatic and touching but only sad and realistic n i love how it took a bit of psychological approach through the forgiving parents with big heart and understanding young window daughter-in-law . Indeed a timeless movie that never gets old.
Slow paced , nostalgic, intimate, emotional n bittersweet movie , packed with some humour.
Liked the blood,non-blood human to human relationship n how the innocent n impulsive MC who is lost but still very positive. Good OST n acting . Most of the people will have conflicted thoughts on how it ends but It was satisfactory in a way.

It was poetic but I cudnt feel the chemistry between the characters despite the fact that both of them looked so good in this,there was a tension but it was obvious to me that they're acting n their scenes together dint grab me.
Mystery part was ok but director failed to maintain the balance between the romance n mystery ,i rarely like the combo n i get that its difficult to maintain that balance. Overall it is decent , watchable but overrated.

It's a Psychological n Philosophical movie more than Sci-Fi . Though I liked the opening scenes if i have to make a list of worst jmovies I'll include this as well.No idea why this brilliant director decided to make a movie like this . There are much better movies on life lesson n great messages to watch this for those. Ya popular ikemens is another thing if one wants to watch this bcz Hiroki Hasegawa looked good but thats it.
It's an entertaining biopic covered several themes n subplots like Corrupt system,Social Commentary,Poverty, Liberalism, Teacher-Pupil relationship, Tradition versus Modernity,it was also humourous at times.
I thought it was some revolutionary movie but it leans mostly towards Slice of Life with beautiful cinematography n important message. Being black n white makes it even more engaging n poetic.
Jeong Yak Jeon was a liberal , there's so less about him in the movie but again it encouraged me to read about this great inspirational scholar. Lastly, good dialogues and acting.
The director is from Old Fashion Cupcake so I'm looking forward to tension between the couple.Have high expectation from this one ,can't wait to binge watch this.
I was saving the best for the last and m not disappointed at all. I thought it's going to be about uprising and conditions related to the event but it's a character driven story with a simple plot about MC's life directed by brilliant Lee Chang Dong.
Sol Kyung Gu is a diamond i always knew that he was good but i never knew that he had always been amazing from the beginning itself, he is a pure talent . In one word he is Phenomenal. Nice soundtrack. No one can hate or get bored with this movie for sure even if they don't love it.

The scene where he banged his head in excitement was so funny,the guy is crazy but clever unlike the other delinquent friends.You won't root for any character but will still like them in one way or another which makes it interesting.
