It's a Psychological n Philosophical movie more than Sci-Fi . Though I liked the opening scenes if i have to make a list of worst jmovies I'll include this as well.No idea why this brilliant director decided to make a movie like this . There are much better movies on life lesson n great messages to watch this for those. Ya popular ikemens is another thing if one wants to watch this bcz Hiroki Hasegawa looked good but thats it.

It's an entertaining biopic covered several themes n subplots like Corrupt system,Social Commentary,Poverty, Liberalism, Teacher-Pupil relationship, Tradition versus Modernity,it was also humourous at times.

I thought it was some revolutionary movie but it leans mostly towards Slice of Life with beautiful cinematography n important message. Being black n white makes it even more engaging n poetic.

Jeong Yak Jeon was a liberal , there's so less about him in the movie but again it encouraged me to read about this great inspirational scholar.
Lastly, good dialogues and acting.

The director is from Old Fashion Cupcake so I'm looking forward to tension between the couple.Have high expectation from this one ,can't wait to binge watch this.

But..but if they communicate and sort out everything then we won't get all the drama n more episodes no?

I was saving the best for the last and m not disappointed at all. I thought it's going to be about uprising and conditions related to the event but it's a character driven story with a simple plot about MC's life directed by brilliant Lee Chang Dong.

Sol Kyung Gu is a diamond i always knew that he was good but i never knew that he had always been amazing from the beginning itself, he is a pure talent . In one word he is Phenomenal.
Nice soundtrack. No one can hate or get bored with this movie for sure even if they don't love it.

Same director from Stranger from Hell which is my fav but movie is below average.

My only movie from the director.
Pretty well executed slow paced movie with good plot covering various sub plots with accuracy without making a mess n fabulous acting by both MCs and all side characters.
The scene where he banged his head in excitement was so funny,the guy is crazy but clever unlike the other delinquent friends.You won't root for any character but will still like them in one way or another which makes it interesting.

Not heavy but yes it has few psychological aspects especially one of the characters named Hsiao Kang who is looking for revenge is pretty interesting.

Many random events n gossips in a neighborhood which is always vibing.This is such a cute ,light n nostalgic movie to watch between the heavy ones.

Correct they need to delve deeper n need patience ,they end up watching dramas on Infidelity n form an opinion that Japan only produces dramas on cheating. Even Netflix add the worst Jdramas which doesn't help. Netflix has good anime like Monsters ,Ergo Proxy and Berserk but people generally don't watch them.

A sad n realistic movie about sacrifice and love.
The last scenes were annoying when his father had sudden change of heart n that emotionless last meeting .All other characters except Otoku were selfish.
Overall it's an average movie.
This reminded me of Bollywood movie i watched as a kid named 'Mera Naam Joker' .I rarely watch Bollywood but recommend it mainly because it has beautiful songs as all old Hindi songs used to be .Mera Naam Joker was more frustrating,heartbreaking and toxic than this movie but it had emotions.

Simple yet beautiful.
Touching, pure,bittersweet n emotional movie about parent and child.
This movie really moved me.

I thought it was mainly a courtroom movie but it's a very well crafted psychological movie about love and obsession more than mystery . This should have been more detailed covering all the inner demons n emotions of the characters,it felt a bit short.Still a very good movie for 1961 ,i bet it would have been sensational when it came out.
Loved the character of the guy's fiance,she was equally twisted n unpredictable.

This is the well told n developed story on incest. Incest which doesn't revolve around sex n lust like in most of the incest manga/anime/movies from Japan or France , the siblings share the attraction n emotion which are not driven by lust which i found refreshing bcz they are still minor n on growing up stage,it's easy to lose yourself to sex in that age. Mitsu No Aji is also the same but the couple is mature in that .
Although i was expecting sex i still like the story as it was different n sex doesn't play a role in it. Its an emotional incest story from different angle which is very well suited for new generation who makes fuss about almost everything like noona romance,age difference ,nudity etc etc n censorship these days.
But i still hope Japanese cinema goes back to its old self where they were much bolder n limitless.Even so, i will support this as it's been a while Japan has released an incest story.

It's a simple drama. Not some typical romance plot where MC forgets about revenge after falling in love or thrilling, dramatic n extraordinary revenge plot with some humanist approach and message like Harakiri. The story is very simple, action is below average n acting is good.
Overall a decent one time watch movie.

Surrealist ,horror,psychological ,avant-garde movie.This was like combination of Shunji Iwai n Terayama Shuji but to me it was a complete failure n i was thoroughly bored watching this which is rare for me as i always love this kind of movies but man,it really dragged. The major problem was time length which should have been shorter like an hour or less.

Watched it on some porn site but it was so boring, emotionless n ridiculous that I dropped it .There r much better incest romance manga/anime from Japan to waste time on this.
