This drama is about another universe, different than ours . So , it is not about china with 1.4 billion, but about another fictious china , xi country and eastern country . ML is not her boss's friend , but she is acquainted with him through a common friend , through which FL found ML . Her boss became interested in him , just because FL is interested in him . The place where FL lives in small place, logically people may know each other . It is just a story , not the real world , but even in our world , we say that the world is small .

I think it is hard to write a script with 5 main couples for just 36 ep. kang Ning and Cai An were supposed to be the only main couple, but due to the conflict between the actress zhu xudan and the producer Yu Zheng , he changed the story so all the couples become main as a revenge 😂. I noticed the low budget side in the script, but starting from last part of ep 6 , there is some improvement . This drama is from the same company of other big projects like the double , the story of yanxi palace , etc so comparing to them , it is for sure low budget drama .
The life of women in that time was hard with many restrictions , women couldn't neither go out freely , nor have any interaction with outsiders . The majority of men in that time were misogynist , womanizer and cruel . We can't judge this drama based of the life in that time and nowadays because this drama doesn't represent the life in both times . This drama tries to tell a fictious story of women in ancient time , but with elements from the prospective of nowadays boys. To get married to noble and/or official family, before having the money , you need to have the status and as we know FLS come from a farming rich family so the highest position that they can have is a concubine of official or a wife of merchant. To establish a restaurant in big city , you need money , backers and to be recognized by the assembly of restaurants. The drama didn't focus on that part , but they made easy to just open a restaurant whether it was successful or not . What I mean , if you want to enjoy this drama , don't imply the logic and don't link this drama to any specific time . This drama is just an imaginary story of a mother with 5 daughters, who wants to marry them off with just available 5 suitors , whether they are good or bad , time will fix these suitors.
I had a high expectation of this drama and I expected it to be like the story of ming lan or like pride and the prejudice or Bridgerton , but it is unserious romantic comedy drama 😂. It is too early to judge or rate , let's how the story will go .
