@Monica: I didn't mean to say that "she was always in love with him". Sorry, if it sounded like that. What I meant was that he must've been on her mind for a longer period of time before she "felt something" when he carried her. If she already didn't think of him as a guy, then she wouldn't have had that realization. DR carried her too you know, why didn't she feel anything?
And as @Bongsookie said, they spent a lot of time together, just the two of them. And we saw her perspective change slowly. She started to see that he wasn't an immature kid, but a reliable man who's able to protect her. DS: "I know everything about Taek." DR and Taek: "No, you don't."
With her developing friendship, change in perspective, and always preferring him over the others it wasn't that hard to fall for him in the end. That's what I actually meant.
With SW and JH it was just a crush started by her friends. She didn't happen to like them on her own. She got over them quickly whereas she couldn't forget about Taek for 6 years (1989-1994). Taek was HER own choice. Her heart chose him on its own. Taek was the one for her. Simple as that.
I don't think the writer changed the script last minute. When I look back everything makes sense now that Taek…
@Monica: Eh, no. Rewatch the kiss scene please, she obviously kisses him back. Would she have kissed him back, if she didn't love him? No. Also, that night, she didn't leave his room and laid next to him on his bed. Would she have done that, if she didn't feel anything for him? We saw her in the beginning of epi. 17 thinking about their cancelled date as well. Another sign. Then he carried her and it made a "click" within her. After that she couldn't even sleep at night..She must have felt something for him all along, if him simply carrying her could make her heart flutter whereas being very close to JH physically (bus scene/wall scene/bed scene) on different instances didn't have the same effect (She smiled in the bus yeah, but that was all. After that she didn't think about it). He must've been on her mind for a while now before her realization.
I can't do anything, if you're not convinced. For me the movie, flasher, beach, taking pic, crying in his room and the concert scenes were more than enough. Not to mention all the small and subtle gestures. Taek was rarely at home and didn't go to school with them mind you. He couldn't see DS as often as JH..
@Bongsookie: Agreed. I'll just say that JH & DS weren't meant to be together. They weren't the right one for each other.
Even when DS was crushing on JH and was happy to sit next to him at his home, she went over to Taek without any complaint when told to and stayed there until night. Totally forgot about going back to JH. Moments like this are telling. She just didn't like JH she same way he liked her.
I don't think the writer changed the script last minute. When I look back everything makes sense now that Taek is DS's husband. The chances of both guys were 50/50 imo (with DS's heart being the deciding factor). But Taek was the one who could flutter DS's heart in the end. I didn't see her feeling an attraction whatsoever when she had all those moments with JH..Not even in the wall scene..What we always saw was JH's one-sided love.
Yes, the future hubby was similar to JH in the beginning, but back then we didn't know much about Taek's character and that he would develop over time. Plus, they were at home, a familiar environment for Taek, whereas in epi. 18 they were in a cafe and he suddenly appeared there. Also, they might have wanted to create/keep the surprise. The future scenes can be confusing, they always do it like that so that future hubby wouldn't be that obvious. They throw hints that could point to both directions. Also, we never saw JH smoking. Taek was the only one among the guys we ever saw smoking..
Same goes for R94. CBers were saying the same back then "the script changed last minute!", but again, I don't think it did. To me it was obvious it would be oppa-ya from the beginning..There it was a lot more obvious than here.
Jung & Seol are cute together and I like how he's protecting her. I want Seol to be more outspoken and be able…
Aw np, I totally can understand you. It's hard to resist after all and just like you said it takes so long with subs :( I bet it was another amazing epi hehe.. ;)
Jung & Seol are cute together and I like how he's protecting her. I want Seol to be more outspoken and be able…
I'm waiting impatiently for the subs just like you chingu. That's the downside of watching on-going dramas lol. The wait is killing us :D But in return we get awesome episodes with this drama ;)
I'm impressed with his acting in Cheese in the trap. So passionate. He has nice lips and gorgeous eyes too. I don't know if light brown is his true eye color, or if he's wearing contact lenses though. I saw pics of him with very dark and light eyes as well, so I'm confused lol.
Jung & Seol are cute together and I like how he's protecting her. I want Seol to be more outspoken and be able to say "no" more often. That would be great. But she's slowly getting there, I think ;)
I like In Ho too. He's cute and crazy lol. I love his expressions.
i'm watching the confession scene over and over and i still cant figure out ds's reaction. to me she looks like…
I think she knew he was telling the truth. You can clearly see it from his expression that he was being sincere. I'm sure DS could read that as well. JH isn't one to joke like that as well. He's also far away from being a "player". I'm sure everyone at the table there knew he was being sincere (with DR being the last to get it LOL).
DS's face went from surprise, to reminiscing old times with a smile on her face with teary eyes, to slight disappointment when he said he was just "joking". As if she was saying "Coward to the end, JH". But in the end nothing what he said mattered to her, because he was 6 years too late to confess. She moved on a long time ago. I'm sure if he didn't add the joke part, she would've nicely rejected him. But you can tell that she and everyone else felt relieved when he said he was just joking. Or else they would've felt awkward with each other.
Btw, he said he planned to give her the ring 2 years ago, but he couldn't even do that. He hesitated once again :/ Even though it probably wouldn't have changed much, because we knew she already liked Taekie (in 1992, JH's graduation). But who knows, he could've tried at least. It's sad, indeed.
Honestly though, if you think about it, there has been several clues pointing out to Taek being the husband. It…
@Bongsookie: I'm glad you agree, thanks. I agree with you too, JH's story was bittersweet, indeed. A life lesson for sure. If you love someone, don't hesitate and take action. If not, regret awaits you. You have to do something to reach your goal. Yepp, he confessed and relieved himself. I also think that DS knew he was telling the truth, but it was too late. She didn't like him anymore and didn't seem to care about his confession.
I love the fact that he looks all natural. It doesn't look like he had any plastic surgery done. His acting is great too. I wish him good luck in the future. Fighting ~
now jh's confession seems more sad than ever. he confessed as his last hope to test ds's feelings for the very…
@Monica : If he had confessed, they would've started to date. If their relationship had worked out or not to lead to marriage, I don't know. I personally think it wouldn't have lasted long, because JH just can't bring himself to say nice things to her lol. They would've kept bickering and bickering, I think. That's just the nature of their bond. But our DS wants to feel loved, appreciated and wants to hear nice things. Just like when Taek calls her "beautiful" and it makes her smile and feel happy. She doesn't just want actions, but words. So I doubt that JH is the right one for her. Also, DS crushed on him only because of what her friends said. She didn't truly love him..The same thing happened with SW.
With Taek on the other hand, it was HER who chose him and loved him on her own. No outside influence there.
But still, JH gave up before even trying and that's sad. If he really loved her and wanted her so much, then he should've grabbed her. He had a lot of chances after all. When he finally confessed, it was wayyy too late. DS's heart belonged to someone else already. He realized that too and decided to play it off as a joke instead. Heartbreaking, but a good life lesson. What we make with our life is on our hands, we determine our fate by our own actions.
Honestly though, if you think about it, there has been several clues pointing out to Taek being the husband. It…
Yepp, JH was always one step behind Taek (admitting feelings to friends, flasher and concert scenes, staircase scene etc.). He hesitated so much. Like he said: "Taek wanted DS more than I did". That's true. If he really wanted her and loved her so much, he should've grabbed her the moment Taek lied about not looking into his wallet. That was Taek's way of saying he stepped back and JH should've grabbed the chance then.
Even way before he knew Taek liked DS, he was never direct with her. He was like: "Guess why I'm doing this" etc. And way before all of this, he was worried about what his friends might think of him if he admitted to like someone like DS (whom they made fun of). He felt embarrassed. But Taek never felt embarrassed about liking DS, had no problems admitting it to his friends, and accepted her as she is. Taek simply loved and wanted her more than JH. He paid more attention to her as well (he noticed she got stood up right away and canceled his game ASAP). Even JH himself understood that.
JH's story was heartbreaking, but it's a good life lesson: What we make with our life is on our hands, we determine our fate by our own actions.
Taek crept into my heart gradually as well. He's way too adorable :) He and DS make such a natural, cute and fun couple. JH's a great guy too, but he hesitated too much and gave up before even trying. Imo, he and DS just weren't meant to be.
The family & friendship bonds played a much larger role than romance in this drama and that's refreshing and great. This drama is now in my Top 5 :)
plz tell me someone how it happend that future hubby changed personality all of a sudden?? i think the script…
Well, people can change, no? Especially after 30 years..Tbh, we saw Taek changing slowly as the episodes went on. He became more assertive and even made fun of DS :D And it's just normal that after spending many years with your spouse that you'll adopt some of their ways. You'll be kinda similar to each other over the years. You can tell from the future hubby that DS influenced him :)
When they were young, she even taught him bad words, remember? Now when I look back, I can definitely see Taek in future hubby. But anyways, I didn't put much importance on the future scenes, because they were throwing hints into both directions as usual. They love to troll. In R94 many people thought the silhouette of the groom looked like CB, but it was Trash in the end. This time the same: Many thought the hubby was behaving like JH, but it turned out to be Taek. I don't think they changed the script in both cases :)
