So... is she chinese? It says her nationality in chinese but her name is, Dilmurat Dilraba, which is not a chinese…
Uyghurs are a Turkic ethnic group who are mostly muslim living in a region of China and some parts of Russia. Her name is another spelling of the Persian girl name Delroba (Dilruba). The name can be found in other muslim countries/communities as well.
I finally finished this beautiful drama and what can I say, it was such a wonderful ride full of emotions! I enjoyed every episode of this magnificent piece of art. I think I won't be able to escape its impact anytime soon. The plot is very well written and the story captivating. I couldn't notice any plot holes. The dialogues and strategies are very intelligent. You just can't help but think along with the characters while watching. As for the acting, it's top notch. Every actor did an amazing job with no exception. There is no overacting and no cheesy moments. I very much enjoyed the calm but intense atmosphere of the whole drama.
Yes, the beginning can be a bit confusing as there are many characters introduced but once you can tell apart who's who, the rest comes on its own. ;)
The cinematography never failed to amaze me. The costumes, sets, sceneries, directing everything was simply beautiful and done in a very detailed way. Definitely a high quality drama. <3 I also loved the many deep and meaningful messages about life, morals and humanity.
I only wished to see more bromance between Lin Shu & Jingyan. Also, I wish they wouldn't have shown that very important event in the final in that quick fashion, but that's just me and my own preference. Nevertheless, a well-deserved 10/10 from me. One of the best historical dramas I have ever seen. Highly recommended! :)
The story's like a combination of the dramas "You're Beautiful" and "BOF". Yeah, the plot is not very original and they were some boring parts, but I still enjoyed most of it. I loved that there was a happy end with everyone being joyful. Moreover, I really loved the couple Ha Won & Ji Woon. These two were acting as if they were a real couple. I found their chemistry very good and natural. :)
Give it a try if you want to watch something lighthearted and fluffy. ^^
PS: The actor playing the general secretary is such a hottie. :D Wish to see him in more dramas in the future. ♥
There were a few flaws here and there but overall it was a great drama. More importantly it was very addictive. I always found myself looking forward to the next episode. I really loved the mature vibe of the drama and the beautiful OST. <3
The acting was stellar by the whole cast. This was LJK's best performance so far. Just wow.
The last episode was bittersweet and very emotional. It was painful to watch how Soo waited for So to come and died thinking he didn't want to see her. Same for So who thought that Soo & Jung had a real marriage going on and he didn't even know that the love of his life was deathly ill. All because of Jung changing Soo's calligraphy. He had good intentions but it was just so heartbreaking to see our couple not be able to meet for a last time. :(
It was just as Soo said; she wasn't able to love So to her heart's content due to the time and world they were living in. There was always something that came in between them. It was sad to see So all alone in the last scene as well. At least he has a daughter but she probably won't know who her real dad is until the end. Hopefully Soo will meet So in the future and be happy this time around without all those restrictions.
The acting of the leads was awesome. Both are young but pretty good at acting. The role of a crown prince suited PBG well. Moreover, the OST is lovely and the drama's shot beautifully. The story may have had flaws, some unexplained things, and might not be the most original story ever, but overall it was still enjoyable. I wish to see both leads in another drama in the future. :)
The ending was sad but it could've been worse. Thankfully, I didn't cry (but I almost did in a few scenes). I think the message of the drama is that we could die any moment in life and therefore should be honest with our feelings before it's too late. Also, to live our lives properly in a way that we won't cause any shame and have no regrets. Like SJY said "I did my best. I couldn't have done it better if I had another chance". Kim Woo Bin's acting was great. The OSTs were very good. I only wish they would've cut the revenge plot shorter and made the romance part bigger. I wish there were more sweet couple moments. Oh well.
Finally the long journey is over. I agree with the others posters; the first 30 episodes were good and exciting but after that it became more or less a borefest. You'll see the same pattern going on which is boring. You will get very annoyed at the puppet King Injo who's basically as useless as it can get. Also, there's no romance (only a peanut size at the beginning, after that no) so if you're expecting anything in that light, you'll be severly disappointed. This drama is very heavily politics-based with officers sitting around a table and discussing politics in every episode. So you'll need A LOT of patience to go through it LOL. Towards the end things stopped to make sense. So, don't try to overthink and make sense of it. It's pointless lol. As for the acting, I only liked the acting of Cha Seung Won, Han Joo Wan and Kim Jae Won (his acting as an old man was very convincing, kudos). The others couldn't impress me..Even in the final episode I didn't feel anything even though something sad happened, so yeah.
Very cute drama and a fairly-tale like love story with many motivating life lessons. I enjoyed it for the most part and had a few good laughs. :) The story gets a bit boring after the big revelation and concentrates on the magazine stuff, but overall a good drama with no plot holes (at least I didn't notice any). I often get second lead syndrom but here it wasn't the case. I liked HJ and SY as friends only. The final was exactly how I like it. I wish every drama had such a nice and complete ending like in this one. The acting was spot-on as well, except when HJE acted mad with that weird speaking tone lol. That was annoying to me.
I, too, think the ending was not fulfilling and very rushed. Many questions remained unanswered which is quite disappointing. :/
But to me it's obvious that KY got back together with TY because they were holding hands in the last scene. We will never know if they got married or not though. I assume they didn't because of TY's nasty parents. I can't see them ever accepting KY as their DIL unless they disown their son.
At first this drama starts off as weird but then it becomes addicting. I liked it for being different and realistic. It shows all the problems and discrimination that unmarried, single mothers and their children have to face in Korean society. Also, it shows & criticizes sexism, the patriarchal system, legal system, importance of clans, unfair absurd laws, problems of working women at their workplace, gender equality etc. in Korea. It was very sad to watch all this but at the same time also interesting. I heard about all these issues of Korea way before and this drama was like a confirmation. A very brave drama in that aspect.
I detested Tae Yun and liked Gi Yeong. She's a very strong and independent woman who would do anything to protect her kid. Very admiring. She's so different from your usual dependant, whiny, weak candy girl that you usually find in kdramas. As for Bae Su Bin, he needs to get an award for his superb acting performance in this drama ! It was outstanding. The expressions he made just LOL :D I couldn't bring myself to hate him haha. Simply wonderful & hilarious acting <3
She was great in R88. Only her crying scenes need improvement other than that she's very good. Looking forward to her next drama :)
Plus, she's pretty and very cute <3
I totally disliked how Ramin went to beg for his aunt's forgiveness in the end. It's not like he did anything wrong. He just fell in love and decided to stick to his little family. That's nothing to feel sorry for. It's his damn aunt who needed to apologize instead ! Screw the old witch, I wouldn't have gone to her at all. And she was a crazy, cold-hearted bitch until the end. Yuck. But I found it realistic since there really ARE such evil, selfish, unforgiving and crazy elders like her. The fate that awaits them is dying alone and unloved just like in this drama. It's the fate they choose themselves by being a bitch.
This was my first lakorn and the impression it left on me was not that good. It was boring, nothing much happens. The happiness of the couple was way too short. 80% of the drama consists of them being in pain and crying :/ The scenes of the maids totally unnecessary and stupid. Same goes for that old lady with orange hair. Totally annoying ! The drama had many wtf moments and quality-wise it's bad..
Now to the things I liked: Pancake's acting. She cries so beautifully <3, the lead's chemistry, baby Lila (they chose a child that looks so much like her drama dad, great casting there !), friendship between Wayoon & her friends, Nic's love for Wayoon (even though his acting was awkward), no childish things, the happy end.
@oyaji: Huh? Nope. Of course google search is more trustworthy in this case as said person is a stranger from an online community. Is she a human whom I know and who's close to me in RL? No. So, it's NOT the same, sorry. Plus, Health is on a whole different level and importance, and trustworthy doc =/= human I don't even know. Not same level at all.
Again, yes, searching online for info/facts on my own with pics etc. is a lot more reliable in this case. That goes without saying. It's not like I'm searching for diagnoses and believing them like a fool would do. There's nothing wrong with searching up info about locations via google though. Health issues =/= location info. Again, two different things.
Please don't try to drag this somewhere else. I already said several times that the island became famous thanks to the drama. Didn't you read it? There's no contradiction between both our statements. Btw, I find it strange that you would suddenly get involved out of nowhere when you didn't even watch the drama. Hmm..
OT: That being said, like I said, there's no way for me to know if a person really lives somewhere they claim to or if they really have visited someplace over the freaking net. You may believe people you met online easily, but I don't. Simple as that. I didn't say that with the intention to insult anyone. I just tried to make my point clear by giving an example. Anyway, the sites I visited during my research showed many pictures and provided detailed info of the place. Plus, I read several blogs about people who visited it. They shared their experiences and posted pictures of themselves while being there. The surroundings can be clearly seen. Addresses of hotels blabla are given. If I can't trust my own eyes, then what else should I trust instead? A stranger? I hope any remaining misunderstanding is now cleared chingu and we can conclude this issue peacefully. This has been dragged out for far too long. Peace out.
No, I didn't ignore any "facts". I looked up Nami Island and I read that it has beautiful scenery and it gained attention thanks to this drama, but I didn't read anywhere that people visit this place just solely because of this one drama which was filmed 14 years ago. This is not personal opinion! That's why I heavily think it's an exaggeration.
Btw, I know very well the difference between an opinion and a fact. I don't need you to tell me that. Totally unnecessary of you.
Oh rlly? Just like you claiming you were there does not mean you were actually there. I don't have an obligation to believe you and your "so-called facts". You just went ahead and assumed things about me. So I'm free to do the same to you now.
I'm not ripping anything apart. Neither am I ignoring the "impact". I just don't get the past hype of this drama back then when it aired. And I will never understand that. To me it's nothing special and just an overrated drama. Also, just because I didn't like this one doesn't mean that I don't appreciate classics. This one didn't do it for me. That's all.
"Fact", huh? In the pictures I saw there was not much related to WS there. Only the statues, first kiss snowmen place, and some posters which I find strange since apparently this island is ALL about them according to your claim. Hm. It doesn't add up. Just because someone claims they stated "facts" does not mean they tell the truth and I have to blindly believe them without doing my own research. From what I researched there are hotels there, amusement parks, children playgrounds, tourist resorts, festivals, parks etc. Plenty of non-drama stuff. It doesn't look like it "has nothing to offer other than film sets".
I previously wrote what I have to say about this matter, so there's no need to repeat myself.I don't want to argue with you anymore either.
I never said this was a "competition". You stated your opinion, I did the same. Period.
You can't force people to accept your questionable "facts" without fuss or quibble. It doesn't work that way.
Obviously you are very wrong in your judgement about me! You are jumping to conclusions again. In my previous comments above I clearly said that I'm not someone who believes things 100% unless I've seen them myself. How does that make me someone who "judges easily"? O_o You must have forgot to read those parts. Clearly -you- are like that but not me! I don't believe anyone easily either. This is the internet after all. No offense, but there's no way for me to check if you're really living in Korea or if you've ever been to Namiseon. I can easily claim I'm from Japan as well. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say here. I'm very careful and try to find reliable sources for reading info with legit pictures & addresses. When it comes to the net I can't rely on anyone else but me.
And with like any other drama there are people who like this drama and also a fair amount of people who just find it overrated. I've seen many comments like that. So no, it's not a "fact" that this one is a legend. We can't force people to think like that. Everyone's legends are different. It's subjective like with everything else, this one is no exception!
