As I am getting closer and closer to the ending, the sudden realisation hit me how much I love this series. The characters are fabulously written, the fighting scenes are off the charts, and the romance between the main leads is so sweet. I am truly head over heels for this masterpiece. It may not be perfect, but definitely left a big impact on me
I’ve been waiting for this drama for a long time. I love the main leads, I love their chemistry, I love the…
TBH I felt the same way as you, and almost dropped this drama. However, episode eight and nine were a game-changer for me. I noticed myself being interested in their journey more than before and my attachment to the characters. They are so well written, I can feel their fears, happiness, and motives and support them while doing so. Although not my favourite drama nor storyline this year, I love the realistic characters, aesthetics and how the drama showcases emotions. I suggest you stick out until episode nine, and if you still don't find yourself interested, drop it or put it on hold and come back later.
same. I wish I could delete my memory and watch it again for the first time. Funny story, I'm new to cdrama, and…
That's so true! I started watching this drama without knowing who the male lead was, but when I saw Changheng, I thought he must be the one. I was totally smitten! He looked absolutely ethereal in that costume! 😇
But then, when DFQC saved Orchid at Shuiyuntian, I was hooked. His fighting scenes were so cool, and that one line he delivered... just amazing! My favorite, though, is when he went through that intense emotional turmoil, deciding to lose his emotion tree all over again, or when he desperately cried while holding dead Orchid in his arms in the desert. What an incredible actor!
It depends on your preferences. If you enjoy the grumpy-meets-sunshine and forbidden romance trope and don't mind if the female lead has a high-pitched voice, I suggest giving it a try! It's a beautiful story with talented actors, stunning scenery, and a fantastic soundtrack.
I need help. I didn't understand 1st 10 min of the drama... Is Bai lu's character in modern time a writer and…
Due to a ban on time travel themes in Chinese dramas, creators decided to add this trope. Bai Lu's character is a contemporary writer and narrates a book about Jiang Xue Ning, a woman who reflects on her past mistakes and is given a second chance to set things right. In the novel there is no such trope though.
I have just finished watching it and wow... I am in awe! It was truly amazing. Haven't been obsessed with a drama so much ever since Love Between Fairy and Devil came out.

Dylan totally nailed it in that emotional scene! One could really feel Dongfang QingCang's despair and sadness over Orchid's death.
