I also loved the bond between the emperor and his favorite consort. She sacrificed herself to save him and asked that her secret not be revealed, so it wouldn't hurt the emperor. It was truly heartbreaking. Although she wasn't an innocent person, she really loved him, which was quite uncommon in the court during those time... 🥺

During the show, it was so hilarious to see the funny scenes between the Emperor and Duke Su. It really was as if they were brothers, or at least best friends.

In my opinion, he did survive. Earlier, Jiang Li's father asks Xue FangFei what will happen if Xiao Heng doesn't come back, and she responds by saying she will cut her hair and become a monk. In the last scene, we see her waiting for Xiao Heng with her hair down, as beautiful as ever.

Another reason why I think he is still alive is because he said he will come back when the tree they planted together starts blooming, which we see at the end.

Additionally, when he puts the necklace he got from Xue FangFei into his mouth and starts fighting, I interpret it as his decision not to die and his determination to return to his beloved.

I kinda think that reinforcements must have arrived eventually; it just wasn't shown.

I know that the ending was controversial and not to everyone's taste, but I personally loved it. I guess I'm a sucker for big epic love stories haha.

So beautiful and inspiring. Even though the ending is sad and heartbreaking, it made me want to cherish life more, and enjoy all the little things. Truly a masterpiece!

I just finished watching it, and have no idea how to move on. Although it had its own flaws, it is a beautiful drama with intriguing plot and amazing characters. Some scenes are so well done, I don't think I will ever forget about them. Even if the ending is quite controversial, I personally loved it. 10/10

despite the age gap of the actors, I LOVE the chemistry between the two leads!! I just watched episode 19, and oh my, that cave scene! I almost fell off my chair, it was so emotionally powerful. Another favourite scene of mine is when they put flowers into each other's hair. So cute~

I can't be the only one who loves the murmuring of the female lead when for example she measures his shoulders or takes photos of him. It's so funny and cute T..T
