Even if they proved that he did start dating KSR when she was 15, Sadly, he won't be seeing the walls of a jail…
You never know, even people who were once rich can topple over. Fortunes can be reversed. If he was dropped from most endorsements and had to pay fines for breaking contracts, PLUS get sued by the family, he will be spending all that money he has left, trying to salvage his insignificant life.

What are your thoughts on the statement release by his side this morning? I must say his lawyers aren’t that…
Even if they proved that he did start dating KSR when she was 15, Sadly, he won't be seeing the walls of a jail cell as this is not a punishable crime in SK. . Pre-2020, the age of consent in South Korea is 13. So technically, in the eyes of SK law, they are not doing anything illegal. in fact, there's a famous case in 2017 where a 42 old man is found NOT guilty for having sexual relations with a 15-year old based on the fact that apparently she consented. So for them, they see nothing wrong with this. Only in 2020, did SK raise the age of consent from 13 to 16. One of the clause in Current SK law states that even If you are over 16 years but under 19 years old, then it is not a crime to have sex with a person who is over 13 but under 16 years old. Where I come from, the age of consent was 12 for the longest time until a few years ago. 12!!!! Like I was still playing with Barbies when I was 12, let alone have a relationship with a grown-ass man! This is not the 1800s where child brides were common, so disgusting.

All we can do is boycott his shows, movies, endorsements, and rile against the companies who associate with him like Disney producing his new show, I think we will get more traction that way, and let the money stop flowing into his bank account. Hit him where it hurts, if he can't go to jail, at least make him go broke.

Most people who have these twisted desires usually try to hide it instead of announcing it. The fact that he doesn't even care what people might think about this , speaks how he perceives himself as invincible and above other people. Unless, this is a poem meant to make him look dark and edgy, it's not getting any brownie points from me.

Yes, I did feel like that too. I think they are just afraid they may get sued or at the very least, not get paid. I can't believe people are still sending flowers to him on this page. I think the agency is just buying time to use ChatGPT to script their statement, and use fake AI videos to promote KSH.

Absolutely correct! There's no way justice is going to be given under such laws. Trival relationship scandals…
Exactly!!! Even Seungri only got 18 months in jail for operating a prostitution ring , and Kim Hyun Joong got nothing but a fine after brutally assaulting his GF, so I doubt that KSH will even see a jail cell.

That is what I was wondering too. Usually MDL is so quick to post news about any scandal, why they are silent…
Yes, money talks unfortunately. It seems to be that The richer a person is, the less morals they are allowed to have. Or rather, maybe they don't have morals in the first place, that's why they can get rich because they have no qualms of stepping on people's toes or throwing them under the bus, like how KSH did to KSR. He bled her while she's down.

because nothing is known or proven. neitizens like yourself don’t have the right to condemn him until investigation…
Even if there is solid evidence that he did in fact have a relationship with her when she's 15 and he's 27, in the eyes of SK law, he did nothing illegal. Pre-2020, the age of consent in South Korea is 13. In fact, there's a famous case in 2017 where a 42 old man is found NOT guilty for having sexual relations with a 15-year old based on the fact that apparently she consented. So for them, they see nothing wrong with this even if this is YUCK in so many levels.

The only time he can be convicted is if they find evidence that he is complicit in her death, like if he instigated KSR's bullying etc. But unfortunately, bullying (cyber-bullying) is so rampant in SK, that it seems it becomes their national past time. They don't hold these bullies accountable for the suffering of many, including those who committed suicide.

All we can do is boycott his shows, movies, endorsements, and rile against the companies who associate with him like Disney producing his new show, I think we will get more traction that way, and let the money stop flowing into his bank account. Hit him where it hurts, if he can't go to jail, at least him make him broke.

Also it would help if international News outlets or even MDL write an article or two about this, but surprisingly it's been quiet here except on this page and his shows. Most likely the editors want to keep a lid on this issue, how misleading. You can see how biased this page is, especially since he was top 10 drama actors of all time here. They should remove him from that ranking, remove the awards or hearts that he's been given.

I don't know why SK media/net is so lenient when it comes to scandals like this while C-net is so quick to wield out the hatchet that even someone taking a picture at a shrine years ago will be cancelled.

I was a big fan of Kim Hyun-joong until the assault case came out and I stopped watching all of his shows and there was still enough support that he could continue touring and be in dramas. Why the fuck this guy wasn't cancelled was beyond me. He didn't even go to jail!!! Most likely he paid off people to get off so lightly and this will happen with KSH as well.

I loathe the fact that, while this POS man may stumble a bit in his career, he most lilkey will bounce back in…
It's not just SK entertainment industry that's at fault here. The whole country operates under different laws and since he's Korean, in South Korea, he will be judged by his country's laws. Pre-2020, the age of consent in South Korea is 13. So technically, in the eyes of SK law, he is not doing anything illegal. in fact, there's a famous case in 2017 where a 42 old man is found NOT guilty for having sexual relations with a 15-year old based on the fact that apparently she consented. So unless they can prove that she DID NOT consent to the relationship, will he be convicted. But alas, the dead cannot talk.

All we can do is boycott his shows, movies, endorsements, and rile against the companies who associate with him like Disney producing his new show, I think we will get more traction that way, and let the money stop flowing into his bank account. Exactly, most of us are judging him with our international laws, but local laws in SK is different. Kim Soo Hyun Confirmed To Have Attended "Good Day" Filming Today. I'm really shocked. Just how powerful is he??😵‍💫
I think it's less of the fact that he's powerful, but in the eyes of the law he did nothing wrong. I think it’s the first time I’ve seen either of the leads in a show, so I have no expectations whatsoever…
This is where she did not put the same trust in her husband as he did for her. I get it: she was suspicious of the Xu family in the beginning, but I thought after all that time and all the things that Ling Yi did for her, would convince her otherwise. Even when the evidence was stacked against her, he chose to believe his wife. Why not offer the same consideration for him? It’s only right for him to be mad at her for not trusting him.

In several instances in the drama, I also believed that if her mother hadn’t been murdered on the day of her planned escape from the arranged marriage, Yi Niang would have ended up with Shi Xian. Although Ou’s family were vile characters, at least Yan Xing is not.
