But both leads from The Untamed knew what they were getting into when they took on these roles. Acting in a BL drama doesn't define their sexuality either way. People will ship boyxboy even if they aren't in a bromance drama. There are tons of fanfics about 1D, Drarry etc and they don't even have to do anything. A lot of actors, especially relatively small/new ones like Xiao Zhan and Wibo (pre-Untamed) can't be too picky about the dramas they choose especially if they there's a possibility of opening doors for them. They probably didn't expect for the drama to be as popular as it was, but of course which actor doesn't hope their drama wouldn't succeed? In the end, to them it's a job/work that they wanted to partake in and people in the entertainment industry know that lack of privacy comes with the territory. Not that it's right, but they are not stupid or oblivious to think that fame would be without its dark side. How they choose to deal with that is up to them.

If that's the case, the read hetero novels, watch hetero dramas. No one is forcing you to come to a forum of a drama based on a BL novel. We need every representation we can get and changing a same-sex love interest is signalling that there is something wrong with it, hence a lot of people are still afraid of coming out because of ignorant comments like these. We don't go in hetero dramas demanding change of casts to suit our needs and we watch and read what we relate to, so if BL isn't your taste, be our guest. The door is wide open, just don't let it hit you on the way out.

At the same token that you enjoy watching hetero themed shows, you are also free also to go watch dramas that aren't based on BL novels than try to stifle an already "fringe" section of the society by watering down BL novels just to fit your heteronormative narrative. There are plenty of choices out there, so why come to a page knowing full well that the drama is based on novel that is too gay for your taste. Amen. There are tons and tons of hetero dramas based on hetero novels, if people are into those, they have to watch those and not try to impede on what little outlet that these BL novels have to turn to. SMH.

Hahaha. Well said, i can understand more the confession coming from eithet the two younger brothers since they have been with their partners as friends for a very long time. But for the oldest brother to suddenly declare his love with very little interaction and his partner just kinda accepting it is like trying to wrap a present with just a ribbon. No effort put into it but trying to tie loose ends. I'd prefer it if they just went on a casual date before living together.
