Jin Taek and So Yeon
Se Hoon and Ji Yeon
Jun Sik and Ye Won
What Shin Ji Yeon said during their first date in paradise made me see it a bit different. Honestly speaking, he was not that "aggressive" with going after her. He asked her to talk like 2 times. She herself said, that he did not really approach her that much. From what she said, the pressure she was feeling was caused not by him, but rather by all the other contestants making this such a big deal, asking her why she did not pick him, asking her to pick him, saying how poor he is coz she does not like him. I feel like everyone made such a big deal from it, it made her feel pressured to pick him, and it made her feel like she had no choice in it.
Ye Won is THE ONLY queen on that show. I love her so much. Need to follow her on her social media. Such a positive and unbothered energy in this chaotic and over the top environment lol
Love the double standards and hypocrisy we showed as audience, truly as entertaining as the show itself 🤣
Hopefully you will like other movies more :)
Also, there is no such a thing as "non-biased mindset to begin with" - whenever it is a positive or negative one. You might have positive biased coz you like the cast, or you saw few shows from a director so you have high hopes. You might be hesitant coz you never liked an actor in any previous drama, etc.
Writing "un-biased" or as objective review as possible, starts from accepting the fact you are biased and your opinion is subjective to begin with, and then taking that into consideration as you write.
I think I just like focusing on details lol
Depending on what do you mean when you use the word "hater" is might make them haters, or might not :)
"a person who thrives on showing hate toward, criticizing, or belittling other people or things, usually unfairly" which I cannot agree with, as describing people who hate-watch.
Hating something does not necessarily mean your review will not be objective (or rather as objective as possible, coz no review is truly objective).
For example, when I started watching TharnType, I strongly disliked it from episode one. I still finished it, with the thought of writing critical review of it, I even rewatched it, to make sure I won't make any mistakes about the plot or characters while writing. I explained in detail all the problems I had with the show, but I also mentioned things that I found good. Same with drama Bloody Romance - described the flaws, while also talking about the things I found good. Both dramas I rated 2.5 and were a hate-watch for me.
I also strongly disagree with the statement: "Because reviews need to be objective". All the review has to do is present the viewers opinion about the content they consumed. Opinions cannot be objective, coz then they would be facts. We all like and dislike different things. Out personalities, life experiences, mood, everything will influenced how much we enjoy the drama, which makes any assessment not objective.
Also, the one girl in white shirt literally solved who killed her too, with fingertips from the knife so it was not impossible.
Also, killing everyone led them to no where. They were literally UNABLE to put all the bodies in the fire. They stopped caring about the game and the rules and just went with killing. The rule clearly said it;s not just kill the culprit but place them in the set fire, which they completely ignored, and only later, when they had too many bodies to deal with were like: oops.
I am like that too, Even tho I know that what JiA is doing is not any better than what Jin Taek did (if not worse lol), I still was cheering her up and being like: she needs to teach me some stuff, while I felt angry at Jin Taek hahaha
but Sweet Home was one of my fav shows.
Tho I would agree, a lot of popular, mainstream shows, while being "good" are elevated to the level of masterpieces, when they are not.
