I don't know how they will develop her story, but for the country with one of the most unrealistic beauty standard I'd would appreciate more tact in how they pick what they want to present, and a storyline centering around character being fat and wanting to get back to their skinny figure ain't it. If they at least actually went with bulimia, but they didn't. She is just the most stereotypical portrayal of binge eater.

They did terrible job setting up the story. Not that they did any better with all the other issues the family has 🙃It's just really stereotypical and weak presentation. Majority of people who suffer from he same issues the character do, do not present this way so.

also, the body suit is also just poorly done, so that's not helping.

I think her having trauma with fire was supposed to be the link for viewers to sympathize with her, but it ain't working that well tbh...

I like these dramas too, but I feel like there should be more variety in what's airing. We need some simple stories, so twisted stories, some character and some plot driven etc. But I feel like many dramas have really similar set up and progression to them lately... It was an issue in the past too, when most dramas were really simple without many twists and really simple characters. Now we went the other direction... When I want mix of both - some simple, some with twists 🤡

But then again we would not have gotten to see Xiao Yuans fanatics which would have been a shame as those where the cherry on top of this drama. < muhahahahaha facts! 🤣

I am sure they will give her a whole ass personality and morals transformation, but I guess this is not what I wanted from he show? I kind of miss the more simple characterizations. A lot of dramas need to have some kind of twists for all the characters and I'm a bit tired of it. That's why I've been rewatching older shows lately 😭

Overall, I think they took a huge risk with making Da Hae such a vile person. Like... she is so bad, it's hard for me to even feel excited for her character development. I rather see her demise... So I;m wondering if they did not take it a bit too far with how they wrote her. Especially the last scene when she talks with her family...

It's not like their story is bad. It's just more typical so they don't hold my attention like the main couple does 😅

I need a well build angst, and if it's for 2nd couple, they usually don;t have enough time to truly make it happen 🥲

It gave me enough to understand the situation the characters were in.
Enough to stop for a second and think about their issues, motivations, ways to improve and reasons they don't.

I think I'm honestly vibing more with short vague stories than longer overcomplicated ones 🙃

How much I hate Soo Hyuk's father. This whole idea that could can treat your family like shit, as long as from the outside it looks perfectly normal. How being nice to other people is more important than being nice to your family... When he said this will go on till he dies I right away thought - this is when kids start wishing their parents would die, to be free from this nightmare.

Here's the thing, at first it may seem that Yoon Dae is the "broken" one and Soo Hyuk is the older "brother" who will help him. But in fact, Yoon Dae is in much healthier place mentally than Soo Hyun. At least he is able to vocalize when he struggles, show frustration and anger, which Soo Hyun is not. He just keeps going pretending like he is strong enough to carry the burden of all the people around him.

What is seem like is Soo Hyun can give Yoon Dae stability, while Yoon Dae can give Soo Hyun release of all the emotions he was piling up.

The way it was presented gave me quite the Eighth Sense vibes 🤡
