Breaking News from Yu Zheng! Confession (Gao Bai) seems to be back in WXY's hands. melons say it's shooting in January.

Anyone got any info on this Meng Ziyi thing?
last year in Wonderland, WXY was playing with a dog at the dinner table, MZY reminded him not to put the dog on the table or he'll be scolded so he apologized and removed the dog from the table (and then he was eventually scolded all over weibo/douyin for being unhygienic.) a YXH account brought this clip up again for some reason and a WXY fan clarified in the comments that the clip was misleading because in the full episode, the dog was already on the table when WXY arrived. plus, the dog was not even his but MZY's dog, Chocolate.

MZY's fans saw this as an attack and started to flood WXY's weibo square this morning telling his fans/team to stop insulting MZY and that because WXY was holding Chocolate's leash at the time, he was responsible for the dog. WXY's fans pointed out that there were multiple shots of MZY ignoring the dog on the table before WXY arrived/started playing with it and any responsible dog owner would have removed Chocolate from the table then. WXY's fans also start calling MZY "green tea" because it was her team that bought countless YXH posts since last year sharing this clip with the copywriting praising MZY for being sensitive and insulting WXY while WXY's team never bought any YXH posts to defend himself or attack her so her fans shouldn't be playing the victim here.

anyway, just your usual Weibo fandom spat. WXY and MZY remain friends and Chocolate keeps living his/her best life.

XZW is Yu Zheng's next drama with WXY that was originally supposed to start shooting in September. a few months ago YZ got into an argument with Tencent over who to cast as the FL (allegedly) so it was delayed to Q1 next year and WXY was able to do Bao Hu instead. if it's delayed again, it just means WXY will shoot another drama. we'll probably know around late December/early January after they finish filming BH.

Doesn't he go mountain climbing and hiking? The stunt is scary dangerous, however. I don't know how he did it.…
it's probably the visual drop from the edge that scares him. the steel bridge in the weibo link is narrow and you can see how far you can fall, ditto the reservoir bridge. hiking up mountains doesn't always involve cliffs.

WXY did a dangerous stunt yesterday, hanging off a reservoir bridge with just a wire to protect him:

he's getting praised for his dedication but the crew is also getting some criticism because this could have definitely been done with green screen for everyone's safety but anyway, WXY looked happy with himself afterwards so let's just be thankful nothing bad happened

+ this post also has photos from a previous stunt where you can see WXY is afraid of heights

yeah this was from iQiyi but via google translate which is against the rules. hoping they add it to international app soon unless someone who speaks Chinese can submit their own translation.

Ok so I need a synopsis 🤩
Synopsis: In the early 1930s, a mysterious death of a female college student in her dormitory occurs in Shanghai. Detective Guan Cen (Wang Xingyue) of the Central Police Station meets Lu Yizhen (Wu Jiayi), a female college student who loves detective novels, and this leads to the uncovering of a seventeen-year-old child abduction case. Two years later, Lu Yizhen participates in Shanghai's first batch of female police officers recruitment, and Guan Cen becomes her direct superior. In the police station, where cases are rampant, the two join forces to reopen the investigation into the child abduction case, dispelling the fog and nightmares that have shrouded them.

new materials tomorrow (Nov 4) at 10am CT time and possible airdrop on iQiyi (Wu Jiayi's wording in her notice…
yes, China only but I did notice there was an iQiyi exclusive stamp on the banner page so they should put it in the international app later.

seems like it is just new promo materials and a reservation link (which does say 2025 so if they don't drop it tonight at least we know it's within the next two months haha)

yes, it was an iQiyi B rated drama I think (B is the rating for distribution only dramas. for example, TWD was originally a B drama but they wanted to put their own investment in it so it became A-rated.) and then there were rumors that there were investment problems/the original producer ran away so it was unfinished for a while and then Wanda Pictures finally stepped in this year. (EDIT: I just noticed Wanda is in the booting ceremony board so maybe it was a co-producer who ran away)

At this point, they should just rebrand this with WXY as top-billed and try crowdfunding its release.
new materials tomorrow (Nov 4) at 10am CT time and possible airdrop on iQiyi (Wu Jiayi's wording in her notice is confusing because it says both premiere and pre-order.)

i hope this remains unaffected 😭😭😭 please dont get shelved..
she wasn't actually officially announced as the screenwriter. the melons before noted her as something more of as a supervising screenwriter so it's her team that probably wrote most of the script and there's still a way out for the PR department😂

November Schedule:

Nov 10 - Gala Live Broadcast (Mango Double 11 event)
Nov 28 - Business Activities (Estee Lauder)

the rest of the time will be spent filming Bao Hu.

🍉Project Updates:

Shadow Detective - get ready iQiyi might be airdropping it. WXY's notice just said new materials but Wu Jiayi's says "broadcast on Nov 4." EDIT: okay it was just google translate that caused the confusion, so only new promo materials and the reservation link: https://www.iqiyi.com/a_omznf19rzl.html. + iQiyi just listed it in their November calendar, so soon!

Bao Hu - the crew is really anti-reuters and the fans are getting into arguments amongst themselves about what's considered "spoilers" so it'll be a dry couple of months in terms of WXY videos (I will try to share what I can on the drama page though, there have been some cute anecdotes from extras sharing their experiences.)

Unveil: Jadewind - rumored to air in February next year (some say Jan is also possible but like, where are the trailers, Youku? all we have so far is one teaser and not even a wrap up special lol.)

Love in Red Dust - Qin Wen is getting a lot of heat lately with people worried that LIRD might get canceled but that seems very unlikely (it might be more accurate to say that drama watchers might boycott it in China because they don't want to support her but she's credited properly as the chief screenwriter this time, which acknowledges the actual writing was done by her team and she has more of an editor role, compared to the improper crediting in Blossoms Shanghai that prompted this scandal.)

Xing Zhi Wan - rumors that it's getting delayed again because it wasn't in Tencent's 2026 list and Yu Zheng only mentioned 2 other dramas he's filming after Shadows of Desire wraps up (to be precise, he said he'll present XZW "later" and that's what fueled the speculation. he did mention it's still under Tencent though so it hasn't changed platforms yet.)

EDIT:
Confession (Gao Bai) - was supposed to start shooting in early December but YZ just said in a livestream that the producer is talking to WXY again and melons are saying it'll start in January instead.

Falling Spring Night - YZ is just bringing this up again to distract from other rumors. it won't be shooting next year. probably not until 2028 even.

oh and a lot of the casting melons people are sharing on twitter and weibo recently are fake, at least they aren't coming from reputable melon owners.
