But his romance drama is my favourite π πΏππ
Well i'll chalk it up to personal taste then, although i do have to point out that any Kdrama rated lower than 7.7 on MDL tend not be that good or at least have justifiable reasons why they're rated that low (of course there's always some exceptions) as kdrama fans are always generous with our ratings on here, this is his only romance drama rated higher than 8.
It was okay but wasn't gripping enough for me, i can't imagine rewatching this again.
And Song Kang needs to either avoid Romcoms or re-evaluate the opinions of his team that hand him romance scripts cause his non-romance dramas are good but romance ones just ain't it.
NGL i actually thought the SFL's father was the one who raped the FL since he was egging her on to drink, either that or he knows the truth and was involved somehow and wants to hold it against her when he needs it as it was hinted by the guard who said the SFL was exactly like her father who likes to hold other ppl's weaknesses.
Anyway i can't really see anyone being happy by the end of this, like it is even shown the FL hasn't exactly been a great mother so can't even wish for her to at least end up happy with just her and are daughter.
I absolutely loved this series, loads of heart-warming moments, the romance with the leads was good but what really made me like this show is the bond in the community i.e. no bad apples, like the ajummas love to gossip as usual but none were bad-minded, don't think even hometown cha-cha managed to achieve this and the plot with the siblings, typically when the main focus of a drama is the happenings of the family/sibling, there's always one or more siblings with a weak plot that you don't care for, but this had none of that.
Both the FL & ML die and go back in time not just one of them, the FL leads being orphans at early parts of the show, of course PMR has the makjang cliches like secret birth and mother still being alive, Both FL deciding revenge is making sure their ex-husband ends up with their respective cheaters, Both FLs being abused by their in-laws before going back in time, FLs have different careers but are actually quite skilled in their chosen profession, both MLs being rich and being in-love with the FLs way before the time-jump and share similar personalities.
Don't get me wrong they're still very different drama's like PMR is more of a makjang/family vibe and this doesn't have any of that, but like i said, this is what i imagined would happen if someone gave two writers a simple outline for a story and they both essentially write it with different genres in mind but the original outline still remains.
Made the exact same mistake i did with Perfect Revenge Marriage of starting the series before it finished airing because it's been so fun to watch but i have to wait every week for the rest of itπ
Also feels like the writer for this and Perfect Revenge Marriage were given homework by the same teacher because the similarities are endless
Hi, could you please make a list of every show you've rated above 5*.....I see your comments everywhere on this…
Thanks!! Never realised you could get a list of everything on someone's profile like that, will definitely be going on your profile whenever i need to find something to watch.
I usually dislike Yeo Jin Goo in historical roles but this was one of his better ones so that's nice for a change.…
Hi, could you please make a list of every show you've rated above 5*.....I see your comments everywhere on this website for a very long time now and most of the time you're ripping apart a show, tbh i have nothing against any of your comments and they're normally justified but i feel like anything you rate above 7* must be an absolute banger, like i feel like it would be a great watchlist.
I started this because i needed something to watch whilst i was eating and was going to drop it especially after the lie about the suicide in episode 1. I mean family dramas are reliant on the main characters suffering, but this felt like someone willingly put themselves in a situation to be abused, decided to give it another go based on the comments here although i enjoyed it the lie in the first episode still lead to a lot of annoying scenes that made the lie seem even more stupid.
Trigger warning: suicideDon't get me completely wrong, I enjoyed this as a fiction piece. But I think the way…
Hmmm, i see where you're coming from with this but "Daily Dose of Sunshine" felt like a more realistic show therefore the portrayal of mental illness would be better and should be more realistic, whereas this clearly wasn't meant to be that realistic, like i'm sure no sain person walks around thinking death is going to give them a second chance at life.
And honestly if there is a God i very much doubt that he'd give a sh*t that someone committed suicide because they can only see the darkness/hopelessness in their life whereas others are dying without a choice.
I do completely agree with your thoughts on suicide/depression but this can't be a show you look towards for mental health awareness, this should probably apply to all shows tied to fiction themes, like yes lets take some life lessons from said types of shows like how being rich and successful doesn't mean a happy life but it seems silly to be using them for mental health awareness.
This was amazing to watch, a part of me wished it was longer but something tells me with casts they had the budget was definitely through the roof + probably won't have been as enjoyable if it was longer
This lost any form of goodwill i had for it after ep 14 when a detective interrogates a potential murderer with zero security(unless i missed it), the guy basically announces to being a killer and then walks out of the room. This single scene ruined the remaining episodes for me.
I watched this around when it first came out and really enjoyed it. Just rewatched it and still enjoyed it as much as i did the first time, even appreciated it more after all the long dramas i've seen since then because none of the plots ever felt dragged out likely due to the fact i actually liked watching all the couples/side characters.
The only thing i found shocking was that the main leads got married around the time this was aired because it never felt like they had great chemistry in the show, felt like the script saved us from noticing the lack of chemistry between them.
Like most people, loved the first half but by ep12 i wanted it to be over, halfway through ep14 i thought it would be the final ep but remembered this actually had 16 episodes. I'm actually annoyed as i enjoyed the first half so much...
Loved this show, especially liked the way they started with the kids then adults before the amazing ending(also like how it progresses to be more gruesome/violent as they start to introduce the adults).
I know some ppl would've preferred they focused on the kids or the adults but i think it was done perfectly to not only flesh out the characters but to also perfectly set this up for more seasons - i could easily see this having 3 more seasons with the way this drama was done unlike say The Escape Of The Seven where it becomes obvious that they're dragging it just for another season especially for people that watched it till the end to find out if Da-Mi gets justice whereas this was wrapped up perfectly whilst leaving you with questions you'd like answered in another season.
The one where I side with the serial killer, most thriller dramas where you understand/side with the killer tend to make the killer do something OTT that makes you stop siding with them but honestly apart from the suicide death everyone else that got killed kinda deserved it and it also highlighted how useless police/social services can be when it comes to child abuse, reminds me a bit of another drama called Mother. .
And Song Kang needs to either avoid Romcoms or re-evaluate the opinions of his team that hand him romance scripts cause his non-romance dramas are good but romance ones just ain't it.
