Don't think I'll think about watching this one till it ends....The original novel does not have a happy ending, so I doubt this one will either.... Even if they change it, I feel like it'll just be an open ending or something. I don't mind watching melodramas, but the ending has to be worth all the torture I have to go through (not to mention like 40+eps of it, and that's assuming I'll get a few eps of sweet stuff)... Ugh I really hope it's a satisfying ending, cuz I am interested in this Song Wei Long and Lin Yun pairing!
Started watching this even when I knew it was an ongoing drama (which I usually avoided because I hate having…
Ugh, seriously. IKR. I rolled my eyes sooo much and it just became funny how bad it was after. The misunderstanding in SIL was pretty stupid too, but that's pretty much the norm in every single C-drama, so I can overlook it. BUT THIS ONE... the amount of cliches in this was just horrible. As if one dumb cliche wasn't enough , they were just throwing cliches at us left and right, with horrible pacing. Literally didn't even give the audience one minute to digest one thing, and then you throw more sh*t at us. I REALLY don't even have high expectations for C-dramas. As long as the couple is sweet or if the drama can make me laugh most of the show, I'm good. But this really really disappointed me. It's just such a pity because C-dramas have improved greatly in the quality of their dramas (being in general, quite enjoyable), but NEVER gets the ending right. I really don't understand how there are like literally zero screenwriters in China that have not emerged out of the usual cliches and learn from OTHER dramas out there?? I JUST DON'T GET IT. How the hell are they advancing in so many industries, but cannot manage to advance in scriptwriting. I find it impossible that every scriptwriter in the country is this STUPID, so I am really starting to think there must be some kind of reason for this. It's sad that I have pretty much no expectations for C-dramas, and as long as the misunderstanding only lasts like 1-2 eps and the rest was enjoyable, it will be considered an amazing drama to me already lol....
What's wrong with people here? Instead of talking about the drama, most people are just bashing the actor for…
Whether it's true or not, people have the right to "boycott" an actor for being involved in such a serious act. And it's not like it was completely fabricated out of the blue with absolutely no basis. Just because there is no 100% concrete evidence like a video of him actually raping the girl, it ALSO doesn't mean he DIDN'T do it. People don't want to support someone who could potentially be a rapist. Sadly, that's just how it is as a celebrity. If you're accused of rape, then your reputation is tainted. You are free to believe that he may not have done it and support his dramas, but people who don't want to also have their reasons. No need to accuse people of not being rational or being idiots. No one but the people actually involved in the case know the real truth.
Let me just ignore how stupid it was that Xiao Nuan left so upset. I'll give it a pass as I guess it makes sense…
Please Love Me is not nearly as bad as the break up is not as ridiculous as this one. At least you can make some sense out of the conflict in Please Love Me, even though it's also frustrating. And at least the OTP was together for longer, and the drama is slightly shorter, so I could forgive those couple of eps. I def don't think this is better than Please Love Me... The cliches in this were way too ridiculous for my liking, especially when they throw cliche after cliche at us. Please Love Me is actually one of the few Chinese modern dramas that I thoroughly enjoyed and not relatively as frustrating cuz it didn't drag out for that long. Yeah, I advise you skip 32-34, then you'll enjoy the show a lot more.
Let me just ignore how stupid it was that Xiao Nuan left so upset. I'll give it a pass as I guess it makes sense…
Hahahah it was somewhat meant to be a funny rant ;) But yes, I just don't understand why Chinese dramas are like that. The romance and stuff has been done quite well in the dramas in recent years, but they somehow just can't steer away from using stupid conflicts and same old misunderstandings. It's just frustrating that they're still so behind when it comes to scriptwriting???? Anyhow, this drama was really great before all those horrific cliches.... T_T Just a pity it couldn't end up being a high quality drama..
They broke up cuz Fanzhou's mother has bipolar disorder, and that disorder may pass onto their children. So he does a checkup and decides if he is at high risk of having it, he's going to break up with her because he saw how much his parents suffered in their marriage throughout the years. He doesn't want Zhou Xiao to suffer and get stuck in a marriage that would end up making her tireless (like his father). Anyhow, he actually doesn't have the disorder, but the girl that likes him changes the report so that they'll break up. He tries to get Zhou Xiao back when he realizes the report is fake. It's between end of Ep 22-24. Not too dragged out at least.
Thanks! I don't get why they didn't include the whole thing? He has been chasing her for forever and they cut…
I really wonder why they even bother filming such scenes knowing they will almost always get cut anyways -__- At least release it online for the audience or something, not just the BTS T_T I just feel like it's such a waste of the actors' efforts....
Overall, super sweet and cute drama. The usual breakup element in the middle was not too bad, at least the reason for the breakup is not too unrealistic and stupid, although still pretty cliche. But knowing that the male lead grew up watching his parents unhappy, I can understand where he is coming from. (I also just finished a drama yesterday which was ruined with a bunch of HORRIFIC cliches, so I guess it pretty much helps make ANYTHING tolerable...)
I'd say for the most part, this drama is pretty realistic and there aren't too many things that are too over-the-top. There's nothing unique about this plot, but it was made decently and very enjoyable. It depicts a pretty good picture of university life and relationships, showing the relationship you wish you had (or will) experienced in college HAHA... I also quite liked the fact that each couple kind of showed a different kind of relationship.
Really like Simon Gong in this!! In the first couple of eps, I thought he was kinda awkward, but his character really grew on me when he started having a crush on Zhou Xiao. The woodenness of the character in addition to his sweet ways of wooing a girl is just too cute! There were a good number of kiss scenes, but I still somewhat feel there wasn't enough HAHAHA Anyways, I quite recommend this to those looking for a cute romance!! Even Xiao Lu and Xie Yi Xing are really cute as well!
Let me just ignore how stupid it was that Xiao Nuan left so upset. I'll give it a pass as I guess it makes sense…
It's actually already quite short, considering that it's only half an hour each episode! But yes, it would've definitely been perfect if they made it shorter though. But I honestly think it probably has nothing to do with length, but just the fact that the screenwriter is clearly out of their mind. No matter how short it is, they'd probably find SOME WAY to put in stupid cliche elements in. I just don't get it. I have yet to find a Chinese drama that doesn't have some stupid unreasonable misunderstanding/breakup. I don't think there is one.
oh my god people, skip Episode 32!!!!!!!! Cannot even count how many times I rolled my eyes… How many times…
Let me just ignore how stupid it was that Xiao Nuan left so upset. I'll give it a pass as I guess it makes sense that an actress would get too into character and into the story, especially when the story is so similar to her real life. BUT like wtf, 30 seconds after the main couple "breaks up", the doctor shows up and tells us the male lead has cancer *ROLLS EYES* First of all, what kind of stupid pacing is that?????? Secondly, I thought no one uses that cancer crap anymore. It's OLD, PEOPLE. I have a feeling it might be a false alarm from the way the doctor said it, but FALSE OR NOT, IT'S A STUPID PLOTLINE TO USE. And then, oh my god, here comes that oh so noble lead that decides "I shouldn't let my girlfriend suffer with me in my last days, so let's break her heart so she continues misunderstanding me and stays away." $#%$&@^#%&^!@#%*^ At this point, I'm just LAUGHING at all the cliches as they come out. This drama started out really promising, superrrr funny, I laughed SOOO hard in so many eps, but these last couple of episodes have just turned into a bunch of cliches. Even the sweet secondary couple that seemed normal broke up cuz of the typical "poor girl thinks she's not good enough for rich guy, plus rich guy's mother tells her they are not suitable, blahblahblah". UGH. And seriously, not enough kiss scenes in this show to make up for this MESS.
EDIT: And I was right, it was the "doctor's mistake" *ROLLS EYES x10000* , which is YET ANOTHER CLICHE, which just makes it even worse. I mean, it's great and all that he's not gonna die, but just makes everything seem like such a JOKE. ughughughughugh. I can't even. What year are we in? Did we time travel back to the year 2000 when such dramas still existed?
And everything wrapped up sooo hastily. Jiang Fang fell and hit his head, then somehow that made him realize all his wrongdoings. Wooooowwww...... And then the secondary couple gets back together because Jia Yi misses the guy and decides everything she was worrying about doesn't matter anymore cuz he proposed lollsssssss
Oh, and I just realized they pretty much ignored the whole issue of Xiao Nuan thinking she was just a substitute for Han Hui (which was PRETTY MUCH the underlying potential conflict this whole drama was building up the whole time.) It magically resolved itself cuz of the cancer. >.>
oh my god people, skip Episode 32!!!!!!!! Cannot even count how many times I rolled my eyes… How many times was I thinking “I can’t stand this show anymore”. AS EFFING USUAL, Chinese scriptwriters prove how good they are at RUINING shows. EDIT: my god, at this point, I am just LAUGHING at every single cliche that's coming up in this drama. This is just SAD. I actually enjoyed the drama so much in first 30 eps. Many funny moments and I like the leads!
Now that I'm done, here are my final comments; Overall, this was a really enjoyable drama until Ep 30. Then, I ADVISE EVERYONE TO JUST SKIP TO EP35. THANK ME LATER. It was such a cute, sweet, super funny drama, but seriously, the final couple episodes literally ruined everything for me. See my spoiler comment below, but the drama just became a horribly written makjang that just makes you LAUGH cuz it's such a JOKE. Also, the leads really know how to kiss, but THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH KISS SCENES IN THIS. If there was enough sweetness to make up for all the garbage I had to watch in the end, maybe I'd be a little happier. When I was watching this in the beginning, I thought I'd be giving this drama a 9. SADLY that is not happening anymore. Sigh. Once again, I really do not understand WHY WHY WHY screenwriters in China have to do this to every single drama. In fact, this drama was adapted from a novel. Why would you change the original plot to add such stupid cliches? Like ??? Did the screenwriter ACTUALLY think these old-fashioned makjang cliches make the drama BETTER? Seriously?????
Around 18 episode, FL really got ob my nerves...she is one should call ML and ask about his mother s condition..but…
It's clearly just another unrealistic part of the plot to cause a so-called misunderstanding. Chinese dramas always have these dumb misunderstandings that don't even fit the characters' usual personality.
I really have to say this male lead really knows how to get a girl!!!! Very realistic and very sweet. Really the way you'd expect a university relationship to start! Gaaahhhhh
I just find this Kim Bo Young character soooo ridiculous. Like wtf? How the hell do you still have a one-sided…
I also really don't get what the fck is the point of getting Eun Seob to go save her? Like ??? What are you trying to get out of this?? Another memory of him being nice to u so u can be delusional for another ten years? Like UGH. And her endless excuses for herself!! Like ???? Those scenes of her thinking back to how she couldn't do anything no matter how hard she tried, like ?????? Are u trying to say there were only three opportunities for u to approach him in the last ten plus years? SERIOUSLY? U call that TRYING??
I just find this Kim Bo Young character soooo ridiculous. Like wtf? How the hell do you still have a one-sided crush on the guy after ten plus years??? To the point that you can't stand him with another girl?? I can understand if it were like they kept being friends or being in contact often. But like??? You guys barely even kept in touch for years!!!! I can also understand having those feelings come back after seeing ur old crush, and feeling butterflies and crap. But I would not be THAT upset if he were to be dating someone else. Like hello??? Ten years should be enough to digest the fact that he does NOT like u, and there is no hope between you two. And you two never even went through anything deep before?? To still be so hung up on someone, having barely any contact with them, after so many years clearly proves there is something wrong with you mentally. You can't let go of something and that's a problem. Like wtf were you doing the past ten years? Mentally playing memories of him in your head every single day for ten years? You need a therapist at this point. I guess the same could be said for Eun Seob for clinging onto his love for Hae Mok, but at least he probably wouldn't be actively pining and trying to get Hae Mok's attention using extreme methods if she had a boyfriend.
