Iam on epi 28 now and i literally cried every epi for the male lead tragic life..i tjink in epi 24 he said he…
Yes, he really has one of the saddest pasts! Well, I wouldn't say ir was for liberty "rather than" being with the girl. It's BECAUSE he wants to be with the girl so much that he realizes that there is something else in this world that will give him a chance at happiness. He was hopeless before, but after meeting Luo Xi, he has found new hope, and DESIRE to be his real self, and like you said, to free himself from the identity of "Zhang Min". Before that, he basically had no desire for anything and just accepted the fact that this tragic life would be his life forever.
The point is the earring doesn't actually belong to "loving stars guy"'s mother. It belongs to the male lead's…
You're right, things are getting confusing, cuz what I said in the previous comment is actually the ML's ADOPTED mother (loving stars guy's mother) oops, sorry HAHA I also wasn't thinking straight when I read your comment! I think the document ur asking about that ML's mother got that she crumpled up is the DNA report that Tao Lun (loving stars guy) is indeed the long lost child.
The point is the earring doesn't actually belong to "loving stars guy"'s mother. It belongs to the male lead's…
That part, the ML's mother received a note from someone tipping her off that he male lead is her husband's biological son, meaning her husband had a son with some other woman. EDIT: SORRY ML's adopted mother .... too many mothers T_T
Hello, are the writers messing with us with the dna test thing? Because the loving stars mother said she never…
The point is the earring doesn't actually belong to "loving stars guy"'s mother. It belongs to the male lead's mother cuz she was the one who took loving stars guy away when he was little. The matching DNA test with someone in the US that he received was just fake. It was a ploy by main lead's mother to send him away.
Asking for spoilers: Is the love triangle intense? Who’s the secondary couple?
Secondary couple will end up being Tao Lun and Wen Na. And I guess Yang Lin and Zhou Wu (Luo Xi's older brother) is considered a secondary couple too. But this drama is mainly about the lead couple. The love triangle is not intense, as it's pretty clear the leads like each other, and Tao Lun is not a pushy character. The second female lead (Wen Na) is pretty annoying though, because she's a spoiled brat, and there's an arranged marriage involved, but from beginning to end, the leads really only have feelings for each other, and no interest in anyone else.
Wow! really? I'll skip then. Thanks for letting us know. I draw a line there.
Nono, absolutely not, he was never doing anything for revenge!! If anyone is doing anything for revenge in this drama, it's definitely someone else (won't spoil). Zhang Min never actually wanted ANY of the business. All he ever desperately wanted is love and care from his family, and acknowledgement from his father that he is a capable being himself, not only to be a puppet and replacement for Zhang Min. The only reason he was going to get married for business is because of how desperately his mother wants it, and because the only acknowledgement he thinks he'll ever get from his two parents is to be what they want him to be. It may sound like he wants to get the company for himself (because he claims he will definitely get the company to his mom), but that is not true at all. He is someone who sees no meaning in his life, and thinks he exists just to fulfill the role of "Zhang Min". And the role, identity and future of Zhang Min has never been up to him; only up to his father. He has never gotten any family warmth whatsoever since he was young. He's not trying to take revenge, he simply feels helpless because he doesn't think there's another route to live his life. This poor guy wants to be truly happy, more than anything. He just never knew what happiness truly is until he met the FL. If u can kind of see through that, you will understand the character! You can read more about what I mean in my comments above. But anyways, if u like sweet scenes, at least watch those and skip all the other stuff ;) hahahhaha
And people, the last scene of the drama...absolutely beautiful
I think u should keep watching as it’s really not that bad. I also have lack of patience for stupid separations but this one is okay. It wasn’t really an official separation and really one episode is like nothing haha.. There’s a lot of drama in terms of his family so that episode was more focused on that rather than the so-called break up. In fact you don’t even see the leads much in that separation, only the other characters. It’s really the poor editing of the show. If it really bothers u, just skip those scenes! If I can tolerate it, u can too ;) It’s a really sweet show so you should try watching it for urself before giving up!
Finished the whole drama and I have to say it was still a good ride. The OTP is really sweet and usually that's…
And people, the last scene of the drama...absolutely beautiful <3 Gotta stay for it!!! The male lead of this drama probably has one of the saddest background stories, never had his own identity, forced to be someone he isn't, felt no love from his parents.. Though he has his parents by his side, he can't even truly openly admit it to the world. The people around him only feel that the REAL Zhang Min is someone of value... Whether it's his father, his "adoptive" mother, they both never stopped wishing for the real Zhang Min to be back. And even his real mother... she wants him to be Zhang Min instead of himself. How hopeless would you feel in his shoes? Literally no one acknowledges your existence, and only want you to be a replacement for someone else until they come back. What kind of meaning is there to life? That's why people really need to look deeper instead of blaming the character (Read comment below for the rest of my thoughts on that) I just felt super miserable for him seeing him get blamed for literally EVERYTHING throughout this drama. Can no one see how much pain he has been in since he was a child??? Even afterwards, when the truth all came out, Tao Lun was quick to throw blame onto him and hate him for "stealing his life". But did he really??? He was a kid, for god's sakes. You really think a kid was a part of this from the beginning? What did he really do? He was just born as an illegitimate child, not by choice. Which is why I was glad when one of the characters finally said this out loud and explain how pitiful Zhang Min was, having everything forced on him as a child. That's one thing I was satisfied about with this drama, is that the characters actually acknowledge some of this logic and reasoning to clearly tell some of the audience (who may be incapable of thinking deeper down). In one of the eps in fact, Zhang Min writes a letter that really explains his true feelings about his life, which was a lot of what I had analyzed in my previous comments. Tao Lun going "dark" was a little illogical for my taste, as I just felt it's pretty out of character for someone who was so sweet and understanding. Especially when he still had a great life with an amazing adopted family. It’s not like he was forced to live miserably since young because of all this. I just don't think he would be that extreme to have so much hatred...? But whatever, a drama is a drama, they do things just for things to be dramatic, after all. As for Tao Lun and Wen Na, honestly could not care less about them. Great that they get their happy ending too, but probably due to lack of time, their development was pretty hasty. Anyhow, for a drama with a "makjang-ish" plot, it was not bad. Although the wrap up was kind of...meh, I am just glad nothing was overexaggerative with a billion misunderstandings, like how some Chinese dramas can get. After the leads get together in Ep 23, there are lots of sweet moments throughout, and they only briefly separate again in for like 1 and a half ep (though that part was pretty stupid too, totally should've gone down another route. Made no sense.. They really should've made the female lead stay by his side and trust him 100% by that point, but WHATEVER. Also the fault of cutting scenes) But anyhow, GREAT OTP, love Zhang Zhe Han and Zhang Ruo Nan is super cute and pretty <3 Already liked Riley Wang before this. Can't say the same about second FL but she was kinda funny??? A bit sad to say goodbye to this drama :'( Time to go rewatch
Finished the whole drama and I have to say it was still a good ride. The OTP is really sweet and usually that's enough of a reason for me to like a drama hahahahaa This was a drama in a long while which made me cry almost every episode, especially midpoint till the very end. I could really feel the sadness the male lead's character was going through his entire life, and how valuable of a relationship the leads have when they finally got together. Although I was pretty impatient for the first half of the drama, the sweetness in the last half really makes up for it <33 Plot-wise, the basis of the plot if quite understandable, although angsty and kind makjang, but I don't think it's overboard or too exaggerated. However, the final development and wrap-up of all that angsty stuff was pretty hasty and at some parts quite frustrating. A lot of it probably has to do with the cutting of the scenes, which I have no idea why Chinese dramas tend to do.... Make the drama a little longer if there's not enough time to put in all the scenes!? Why reduce the quality of the drama by doing that?! Anyways, definitely a fan of Zhang Zhe Han and Zhang Ruo Nan now. Zhang Zhe Han definitely has got the looks and the acting skills <3 Also, cute little Xiao Man Tou also gets an honourable mention! Super duper cute and loved her maturity as a kid. Secretary Xiao too! Brought some comedy into it, plus loved his loyalty to the ML! OOh and definitely have to mention the OST "Happiness" by Xu Yina! Just sooo beautiful and never fails to make me cry every time I hear it! Absolutely matches the drama sooo well! (The only flaw is the French pronunciation for one of the lines.... really quite...wrong)
As for people complaining about Zhang Min still getting married for business but still wanting to keep Luo Xi…
Yes! Exactly. His whole life he's been told that his purpose is to live as someone else and be someone else's replacement. That’s the only thing he feels he was born on this Earth for. He feels that his father never wanted him as a son, he only wants the real Zhang Min. The only way he thinks he can even get his parents' love is to be what they want him to be. He has never felt love from them for being himself. He's been used to living for others, and not for his own happiness. It's hard for him to be able to just walk away from that, and to confidently go pursue love. If we put ourselves in his shoes, we can really tell how miserable of a life he has and how unhappy he is. I'm so happy that he met the FL and finally has a chance at happiness.
Let me tell everyone that the sweet scenes starting from Ep 23 is alll worth the angst before. Plus it's the angst…
As for people complaining about Zhang Min still getting married for business but still wanting to keep Luo Xi by his side, honestly though, it's not as bad as you think. You have to understand his story. He never wanted the marriage, never agreed to it, has always been honest about it to both his family and his "fiancee". You kind of have to understand how his life has been about doing stuff for other people and making other people happy. His only family, BOTH his parents want him to sacrifice himself. No one ever gave a damn about his happiness. He's been convinced all his life that he should live as someone else, and live as what other people want him to be. This has been how he is his WHOLE life. For the first time, he wants something for himself; he wants to go to Luo Xi, but Luo Xi keeps pushing him away and isn't willing to come to him, which then gives him no strong reason to not continue with his role as a puppet. I know some people think keeping another girl by his side while he's engaged is an asshole move, but I really don't think it should be seen that way. Anyhow, he realizes by the engagement party that he should go for what he wants for himself and that he can't give Luo Xi up... He's finally planning to give everything up to live as himself.
Let me tell everyone that the sweet scenes starting from Ep 23 is alll worth the angst before. Plus it's the angst before that makes us cry and makes the romance so much more valuable! I'm sure some makjang will happen some time before the end again, but up to Ep 27 so far and I'm still happy <3 hahahaha
