Should I give this a try? I'm a big fan of the leads but this drama is 50ep long and I don't care for a lot of…
Yes yes yes yes yes, because they are so damn cute together. There aren't really any misunderstandings, it's more like realistic conflicts that arise in any relationship, especially in an adult relationship where both are career oriented people. It is quite long, so you are warned of unnecessary scenes about stuff we don't care about (unless you're a fan of Qin Qing), but that is what the skip button is for!!! Don't miss out on the chemistry and sweet scenes of the leads if you're a fan of them! Like seriously, they are SO sweet. Quite a bit of kiss scenes. (There would've been even more if they weren't just all cut out dammit)

Same hahaha They let the story of the second leads to the end??? The final episode had 20min (TV version)...they…
Yes, it's pretty stupid. On the Chinese streaming websites, they have an option where you can choose to watch certain leads' scenes only, so you can see how much screen time they have, and so many eps near the end was literally our lead couple having like 2-5 minutes screen time together, each of them having maybe like 2-10 minutes individually and Qin Qing having like 25 damn minutes to herself -______-

For a 50 episode Chinese modern drama, this is actually pretty decent, mainly because they cast SUCH a charismatic couple with soooo much damn chemistry. They will go down as one of my fave drama couples EVERRRRRRRRR. Just seeing them together in a scene makes me love this drama HAHAHA

There were a lot of complaints nearing the end from netizens, but now that I have finished it myself, it was not that bad at all. I actually don't think the conflicts that happened in the end were that frustrating. In fact, all the conflicts were pretty realistic and makes a lot of sense. That is pretty rare for a C-drama. And I love that there were no stupid misunderstandings that made them breakup. The conflicts that arose in their relationship were very realistic, and arises between almost every couple.
The only thing that annoyed the heck out of me was the fact that they kept cutting kiss scenes near the end T_______T SO MAD.
Also, the second lead couple clearly had way too much screen time, in the last 15 episodes and their story was just so UNINTERESTING. But again, their story was also very realistic and reflects many real life relationships. But just pretty ridiculous that the second leads (ESPECIALLY QIN QING) had like 80% of the screen time when they are, well, JUST SECOND LEADS. We people are here for the main leads, damnit!
But I was already prepared for this to happen, so I didn't let it bother me. Thanks to the 2.0x button, I'll pretend those parts barely existed LOOL
Like I always say, people, when you see a modern C-drama of this length, you gotta know to lower your expectations several notches, cuz literally, none of them will be good from beginning to end, TRUST ME. This drama is already considered a good one compared to others.
Just seeing the main couple together made this drama really enjoyable to me overall, so this gets a good rating from me. In fact, I would give this drama a even higher rating if they hadn't cut so many damn kiss scenes.

FYI y'all, the show technically wasn't really extended. It's not like this drama is being filmed live. It's just all due to HunanTV's horrible af cutting of their episodes. A lot of the episodes were only 30+ mins (one or two even being less than 30), with like a 5 min repeat of stuff from the last episode. They just couldn't cut everything into 45 eps as they wanted to. Things would've been too rushed and choppy if they forced it into 45 eps.
If you're watching the ver. that's consistently 40+ mins, then it's probably gonna stay 45 episodes.
But nevertheless, this show is indeed longer than it needs to be. But oh well, if this show can give me more sweet scenes near the end, I can forgive it.;) I've stopped at Ep 35 and am itching to continue so I can watch their scenes!!! (But trying very hard to wait till all the eps come out)
I know there'll be some frustrating things, but that's what the fast forward button is for ;) I'm already so used to the frustrating C-drama tropes, so it's not like it's any surprise that the plot will cause conflicts between the OTP. I already think this drama did quite well since nothing was really that bad for at least 35 eps, ESPECIALLY as a modern drama.

I’m glad future c-dramas will have less episodes. This drama would’ve been better with less episodes. Modern…
Where'd you get news that future C-dramas will have less eps? Anyways, there are a lot of modern dramas out there that are less eps nowadays, which is great.

Title Love Designer Spoiler
ep 28can someone explain to me why song lin is leaving the company? im def not paying attention right here but…
Yes, he bought shares from other shareholders and became the largest shareholder of the company, at 53% or something like that. Song Ling wasn't forced to leave, but obviously he wouldn't be in control of the company anymore, so he resigned.

TV Version confirmed to be 51/52 episodes. There will be no episodes on June 17th and the drama broadcast will be ending on June 21st. Confirmed on Hunan TV's Weibo. The DVD version (the one on Viki and maybe other sites) will probably still be 45 eps.

oh my gosh, really? It's been extended???? I'm super excited!!!
You're right, it's quite realistic (though still has a few frustrating flaws here and there). But that's also prob why it's not keeping some people interested, cuz realistic is not necessarily entertaining and usually quite cliche. Honestly, I think I'm not really that interested in any of the other plot lines other than watching the couple together LOL
Haha, I really hope the last few eps will be tons of kissing scenes too T__T Just hope it's not gonna be more misunderstandings and angst instead .__.

oh my gosh, really? It's been extended???? I'm super excited!!!
Yeeesss, if you're watching the TV version (up to Ep 42 now)...at the rate it's progressing now, it's impossible to wrap up in 3 eps....
To be exact, it hasn't REALLY been "extended" but more like they couldn't cut all the scenes in 45 eps I guess. Also cuz the TV version isn't very consistent with the episode lengths and they end up being like 30+ mins long, instead of the usual 40ish mins -_- The DVD ver. (which is the version on Viki and some other sites) is probably still 45 (or my guess is 48 max?) eps as the eps are consistently 40+ mins.

I have to say this couple's chemistry is one of the best in drama history T_T I'm still so upset they cut so many kiss scenes!! Even though there's a lot of sweet scenes already, but it's never enough looool I mean, fine cut the scenes, but don't effing let us know that those scenes exist then?!! Just leave me in the dark! Why torture me like that??? T___T
Anyways, this is a 40+ modern C-drama... That itself already tells you not to have high expectations, seriously. There is pretty much no modern C-drama of this length out there that doesn't start to fall apart near the end. The writers always have to add some sort of conflict between the leads, regardless whether it's logical (like Song Ling going abroad with another woman without telling his GF??? OK THERE...) or even fits their characters. Like excuse me writers, but I don't think you're doing your job properly if you're still making the audience question and dislike your main leads when the drama is closing to an end here....
Anyhow, I already knew not to have expectations for this. It's actually not really that bad compared to all the frustrating angst that some C-dramas throw out there. I'm only here for the couple anyways. I'm fine as long as they can make up all the stupid crap with like 4-5 eps of fluff at the end, thank you. This couple's chemistry will probably give me some kind of drama withdrawal after this show ends :'( I'd definitely still recommend this show if you're one of those people who look to watch dramas for romance/fluff.

FYI, Depending on what version you're watching, the TV version has likely been extended to 52 episodes, so it's no longer ending on June 16th.

I just have to say, Zhou Fang's mother is probably one of the most annoying mothers in drama history. *ROLLS EYES*x10000

What does it mean by extra chapter? Will there be extra episodes above current 24? I want the story to extend…
Haha, no, it just ended up being a short video of the leads doing like a skit lmaooo

I think the comments here hyped it up way too much for me. I think the female dominated city is quite interesting, and I do like the morals they tried to convey in this drama about equality and women power. I also didn't find many huge issues with it, and there weren't any frustrating misunderstandings. I could reason with all the conflicts/separations that happened in the drama. However, somehow the drama was overall quite lackluster for me. I found it a little boring, and the scenes aren't really sweet enough to make up for it. It's really a pity, cuz I actually like the leads together, and it's one of the rare C-dramas that didn't frustrate me with annoying misunderstandings that I felt were illogical or ridiculous. I REALLY thought I'd like it....but sadly, it just failed to hook me. I can't even pinpoint why. Perhaps Qian Qian took too long to officially fall for Han Shuo... so the sweetness in the series just wasn't enough for me. The few scenes they had were either too short or ended up being slightly too cheesy (in terms of their lines).

I totally agree. I really don't think there are that many sweet scenes.

I am half-way through this, but I am puzzled by the high average rating. So many 10's. If this deserves a 10,…
Well, first, I don't think you can really equally compare dramas that are completely different genres. Also, just because Hospital Playlist may be extraordinarily good, it doesn't mean this needs to be rated down in proportion. The benchmark for a 10 doesn't need to be based on one drama. People generally rate dramas on how much they enjoyed it anyway. There can be different levels of 10's.
Also, I know many felt 'eager anticipation' with this show too, so everyone's expectations are different. Just like how there are bound to be people who didn't find Hospital Playlist that amazing.

were they able to reach the pre-orders needed?
Looks like they're going to produce it anyway! They didn't get the min. order of 1000, but the company has agreed to producing it anyways.
