Only up to Ep 12 so far, but I feel like the pacing of this drama is a bit odd....especially the romance development. Maybe I just don't really like the "love at first sight trope (maybe more like a few sights in this case, but similar anyway), but the romance fails to make a big impact on me. I like the leads, but I don't find myself that into their relationship or fangirling over their moments... I believe it also has to do with a lot of their "sweet" scenes either being kinda random or cringy.... I quite like the supernatural part of the story and the special effects of their powers and stuff. Background story is not bad either, but I guess it's also kinda typical with the "Romeo and Juliet" kind of set up. I also feel like the story kind of lacks focus so far... Takes the FL more than 10 eps and her mission to get a stupid badge still isn't complete. Then they fall into some secret realm and spend another few eps talking about their "life" there. I suppose it's supposed to be for romance development, but "good" writing and pacing would be able to develop both romance and plot at the same time...
I'm wondering if this is one of those stories where it's not one culprit, but all of the family members did different things to him individually with no intention of killing him, but all of those things added together ended up leading to his death... But I hope not. I hope it's some exciting mastermind crime hahaha Anyway, really interested so far!
It's nice to have a dark mode feature, but I think the blue headings pop out waaaay too much against the black... Kind of defeats the purpose of "dark"....
Yes, pretty much. She exposed him , obviously doesn't want him anymore, and he also ended up with a restraining order, so he left the city with Da Kyung.
Q1: Was she actually not the girl he hurt? Q2: Is there a breakup?
Actually, there isn't really a break-up. Other than the first time after the ML thought the FL wasn't the kid he hurt, because the ML didn't even like her the FL. Other than that, although they were "about to separate", it's always somewhat diverted due to the FL taking on a new identity. The angst is definitely not typical like in other dramas, so you don't have to worry! You won't feel the any agony hahahahaa
This drama was actually very good! It's one of the few modern dramas out there with a pretty complete story, with…
is why the heck that stupid Xu Xing Yao is STILL causing trouble even in the effing LAST EPISODE. Like ???? This character literally had no character development at all.......... Absolute failure of a character.
Anyhow, I also really loved how the different identities that resulted from the FL's PTSD helped the drama stray away from stupid break-ups. Like the FL imagining herself as the ML's stepsister but secretly loved him...Although they were "not together" while she took on that identity, it wasn't really like a breakup? In fact, I really loved that arch... His father did not approve of them, on top of her finding out the ML was taking care of Xiao Ba...and suspecting that the ML doesn't love her and only chose to be with her because he mistook her for the kid he hurt.... so she imagined herself as someone who is technically not allowed to love him (because she wants to desperately give herself a reason not to love him), someone who has his love and care, not romantically but only as a sibling (as she is convinced that's what it is in real life).
Also, even when she finds out that the ML really was the one who left a scar on her face, instead of separating them like an average drama prob would do, her imagining they've been married for 10 years makes things more interesting, and really doesn't frustrate you. Though she asks for a divorce, I love that the ML tries very hard to save their relationship (and hilariously pretends to be the one that has the personality disorder).
ANYHOW, like I said, just overall quite a satisfying drama!!! I'm really glad there are still a few satisfying modern romance dramas out there that pop up occasionally. A lot of C-dramas are really sweet and cute, but it's usually just so hard to be happy with everything that happens in the dramas and not get frustrated.
This drama was actually very good! It's one of the few modern dramas out there with a pretty complete story, with pretty much no loose ends and ties up overall very well. It leaves you overall very satisfied. The main couple is super cute, and have a lot of chemistry! And even the other two secondary couples are quite decent. Also, the show has tons of humorous moments as well! Although some people had complaints about the male lead's character, all the "angst" that happened was very very reasonable. The angst that happens is also not your typical average arguments or break-ups, as the female lead's personality disorder (or PTSD technically) really drives it in a different direction. It also really helps and ends up solving conflicts between them and eases the female lead's inner struggles. In fact, every time her PTSD was triggered, it really made a lot of sense why she imagined each identity. (more about this in spoiler comment) I think the drama explored the two main leads' story and built up guilt and emotions quite well. Everything made a lot of sense, there was nothing unreasonable that happened, no stupid misunderstandings.... Doesn't happen often in modern C-dramas, so I'd rate this drama quite high. OH AND THIS DRAMA TOTALLY MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH SUI AN. *__* He kept getting more and more handsome as the drama went on. Damn. Why the hell do 1999 boys look so mature and handsome for their damn age! (I'm looking at you too, Song Wei Long!!!) T___T
P.S. The only tiny thing I want to complain about is...(see spoiler cm below)
The only thing I'm confused about is I thought in timelines where Sun Ho does not die and continues killing, Hyung…
I think he does die, but at the hands of the serial killer (Sun Ho), which is why he was chosen to be part of the reset. But yeah, he does NOT die when that Oh Myung Chul tries to kill him.
Is it really like this in china? You are automatically considered ugly if you don't wear make up or have a scar…
Well, things are obviously exaggerated in dramas. In real life, I'm pretty sure people won't spend like five minutes gasping about a scar and just stand there and do nothing. Also, the "reaction" is more due to the fact cuz it was a television show broadcast with a live audience, and a sudden reveal that no one was expecting, so people will obviously be more shocked, not necessarily saying she's ugly and shouldn't be showing her face. Plus, the "negative" reactions were really from like two people, and shallow people exist everywhere. I'd say Asian countries ARE more judgemental about appearance compared to other cultures, but I think it's honestly a pretty relevant problem worldwide.
Just watched the first four episodes and I'm honestly really confused about the pacing of this show...... The relationship started so randomly and that whole thing is just so unclear.... The whole pacing so far is so weird that I feel like I'm watching some cut version or something... I can't even tell which identity I'm watching sometimes.... like does the main FL personality even like the ML?
