Insanely good. THIS is how you do enemies to lovers. THIS is now the standard for me. The plot is riveting, the characters and their development are incredible, slow burn is absolutely DECADENT, the production is fire, and the chemistry is out of this world.

I’m loving the series so far, but that’s something that kind of ick-ed me too. We have had a lot of warrior/strong FL characters this year, and Ming Yi was definitely the odd one out of the bunch. I also didn’t expect her to have such a delicate temperament. I love LYX, and I don’t mind the dubbing (I think it’s her own voice), but you’re right— it’s kind of off-brand for a warrior character like her.
Not to mention, she was raised as a man her entire upbringing. I thought she’d have a tougher outer shell, but she embodied to the damsel-in-distress role surprisingly (and almost unnaturaly) well.
I personally dont have complaints about their chemistry. I feel like his chemistry with LYX is better than his chemistry with ZY, but that’s just me.
If there’s anything that’s ‘forced’, I would say it’s the comedy. Some are stand-up worthy, whereas others fall short.
The OST to this drama is so addictive and hauntingly beautiful. The production is truly *chefs kiss*. The cutscene for episode 11- the underlying meaning behind the friend's words and their connection to Yan Tuo is seriously a masterpiece of dialogue. I live for it.
LOTTL is hot on XHS rn and the fandom is absolutely incredible. Very passionate, very devoted to our Aunt Lin (as they should), and I've been scrolling and laughing for the past hour seeing Di Xiao memes lmao
I can't.. this drama is too. fucking .good. Help. The cinematography, the music placement, the DIALOGUE, the sexual tension between the leads, the slow (but intentional) pacing. Jesus Christ, take the wheel at this point. I never know what to expect for each episode, but what I do expect is falling in love with it the more I watch!
I would never downgrade myself for anyone, but Ms. Lin can (respectfully).. have her way with me. One of the most compelling villains I've seen, and her chemistry with CXX is off the charts. Can we.. have another drama with them as a cp please (as you can see, I'm already getting too ahead of myself lol I'm seeing myself out the door)
I'm honestly surprised by the ratings here on MDL. It's definitely more well-regarded in China and is basically a supertopic on Weibo and XHS right now. The slow pacing is not for everyone, but I haven't fallen asleep yet and my butt remains clinched for each episode, so I'm sticking through with it!

The production of this show— cinematography, soundtrack, ambiance, plot, worldbuilding, dialogue, acting.. is exquisite. Probably one of the best I’ve ever seen in a costume drama. Totally up my alley.

You know, I watched a few Thai thrillers in my time and noticed that the policing is pretty much the same in all. I thought that was just me, but I’m glad to know I’m not alone in that.
Like, I saw Ramil waving his gun in the air in the middle of the street and was relatively forgiving because Ko Moo Chi does that sometimes too.. but there’s definitely a limit to how much bs one can sit through lmao. It’s definitely atrocious, for sure.
I definitely agree with you that the dialogue is just.. subpar. Some characters have better lines than others, but it’s just awkward for most, especially when coupled with the eerie silence in the background. It makes you want to just take one of those cheap sound effects boards where you press buttons and take it into your own hands because the production team couldn’t.
It’s disappointing because Mouse is literally the drama I worship. It’s hard NOT to compare the two, but if you made it past episode 3/4, just regard this drama as it’s own separate work entirely imo.

I've seen some clips so far. Production wise, its lower budget than Mouse and the atmosphere is less gritty. The filter is too bright and doesn't really capture that noir/gritty crime detective/serial killer vibe like the original does. Some things can also be exaggerated, such as the stabbing and amount of blood used (I'm just being nitpicky here, but it looks a bit too.. amateur?). However, the acting is good and the plot is relatively similar to the original so far (with some minor tweaks, of course). Based on what I've seen, Oh Bong Yi and Phicha are like two different people.
In my opinion, nothing can compare to the original Mouse in terms of production, storyline, and cast. But as a standalone project, this Mouse is all right. There's only 7 episodes released so far so it is hard to give a detailed analysis of how true it stays to the source material. We'll just have to see it unfold!
