In the subs I have access to, I'd say the references are explained fairly well, but even then you basically need some pre-existing knowledge of how the Japanese language works to really get it.
Can't tell if them visibly easing up on the AI usage this episode is because people kept complaining or not. I think I only saw two AI generated images this time around, which is a drastic reduction from the other episodes so far, counting specifically those that were added in post as it's easier to replace those than physical images that may/may not have been on set during filming.

You pay extra to watch episodes one week early. It also only works on the mobile app (which includes tablet) if I'm not mistaken, which might make it less worth it for certain people (me)
