It doesn’t matter even if it’s SA or not SA.
true but the SA and some what romaticised angle made it hard to watch for me. I could deal with evil guy kidnapping and torturing if it wasn’t romanticised

I've just finished episode 10, it's good so far, but I think I'm gonna start to skip the court scenes, I just…
I didnt pay attention to the court scenes or the politics at all in the beginning and I started regretting after ep 20 because I had no idea who was colluding with who or who the “bad guy” even was at some points. I wish I paid more attention because the politics become important from mid point and it’s actually quite fun to watch. Obviously everything will start to make sense after a while but I think it wouldve been more fun if I knew who was who lol

I absolutely hate the silver hair mad man x shopowner side pair… if they’re even a pair. I don’t like the romantic angle on certain scenes. It’s literally SA so it’s hard to watch these scenes. especially the bath scene which was SO LONG and the blurry seductive filter did not help. Idk how things end for them since I’m only at ep 20+ but I hope it doesn’t end well for him

So true as someone who has watched a lot of saguek it felt like I was watching recycled content. it’s very reminiscent…
Same I have kind of fallen out of love for them because they always follow the same predictable formula. Although I’m still sitting and waiting for a good one. Contrary to you though I think the sagueks have become less historical, but I kinda get what you mean, sometimes there’s too much politics in shows that are barely political. Like if you advertise yourself as a quirky fusion saguek then just be a quirky fusion saguek

Really enjoyed this show but would loved it more if the female lead would have expressed her love in a more decisive…
Honestly with all her sacrifice, if he still didn’t know she loved him it’s his own damn fault 🤣

This drama was so insanely popular in Korea so why do they not make historical drama like this anymore? The sad tear jerking ones. It’s all just fusion rom com historicals these days 😭

Hmmm... 9 episodes in... So I think I can now give a final verdict to this show.... It's pretty conventional...…
So true as someone who has watched a lot of saguek it felt like I was watching recycled content. it’s very reminiscent of moon embraces the son but farrr more boring and way less complex

You mean to say the antagonist fell in love with the previous queen but spent half the show torturing the son…
Also I would absolutely think that someone who looks 99.9999% (minus the mole on the nose) like my dead wife is my dead wife whose body I never really identified

You make a good point on how he could’ve considered the dowager as someone who helped “free” the queen. But still the entire event destroyed the queen’s life and drove her mad. I still think it was a bit of a misnomer for the villain to have left the dowager off when he went practically after everyone.

And it didn’t really make sense why the villain didn’t just follow in his daughters scheme to make his lovers son the king and instead went out of his way to make the prince’s life quite difficult. It could’ve been that he felt he didn’t have control over his situation and he’s obsessed with control.

To me the drama was kinda out of wack and a lot of things needed a viewer’s extra effort to justify why the plot is the way it is

Can’t believe I finished this drama cos genuinely wtf was that… he would not have given half a fuck about…
You mean to say the antagonist fell in love with the previous queen but spent half the show torturing the son of the woman he loves???? He spends half the show torturing people who had NOTHING to do with the killing of the queen but did not go after the dowager who was the literal mastermind behind the scheme??

You would think someone as vengeful and evil as him would’ve killed off the person who schemed to depose the queen but no, he let her live and she never had to feel any guilt or remorse for most of her life.

The characterisation was so poor across so many of the main cast. There’s no way someone as prideful and scheming as the dowager would’ve felt that much remorse at the end of the story. If I met someone who looked exactly like my dead wife who died so tragically, I would’ve stopped at nothing to research her background and would’ve continuously suspected that SHE WAS ACTUSLLG MY WIFE??? Idk how he stopped suspecting that after only a few times.

Can’t believe I finished this drama cos genuinely wtf was that… he would not have given half a fuck about a woman like Dalri if she didn’t look like his wife. Also kinda fked up to fall in love with someone who looks exactly like ur wife.

But ok whatever I can look past this for the sake of *romance*. What I cannot forgive is despite the ridiculous plot the romance was downright BORING. Another blasphemous thing was the plot making ZERO sense at times. Jin goo did a great job playing antagonist and he had such a good back story but it just did not align with his motives AT ALL.

The drama went on and on even though it is only 14 ep long. It felt draggy and there was barely any development in each episode. It’s literally a fusion of secret garden and moon that embraces the sun but cannot hold a candle to either in terms of plot or excitement.

The strongest eps would probably be the first and last two episodes. They were pretty interesting at least

Was super funny in the beginnning. Loved that I couldn’t predict what was going to happen because the FL does the most random things and that has the most random effect on the plot. Towards the end it got a bit slower, with less comedy and the plot leaned more towards romance and politics. Overall very enjoyable. I usually avoid LYN dramas or can never finish them, but this was fun. Plot is fresh and hilarious despite the overdone isekai premise (going into a game/show/book)
