yes honestly I think she was more suited as a special task force sent on specialised missions rather than a full blown general who has to plan and command hundreds of thousands of people. Tbh the show made being a general very easy for her. People were always willing to follow her to war and to death and it felt quite unrealistic.

39 ep later I still hate the qimin and qianqian pairing. I absolutely hated the romantic spin to their story. Was Qianqian not just being coerced the whole time? She fking hates guts too, so it’s not like it was a love hate relationship. I like beauty and the beast so I’m not against Stockholm syndrome plot lines but I just can’t understand why the romantic filters and slow mos are used for their scenes. They were so uncomfortable to watch. It was just a tragic story about an obsessive madman kidnapping and controlling a woman. I feel so bad for qianqian. Like wth did she do to deserve this. almost feels like a crime against the abused for painting their story in even a faintly romantic light

I wasn’t paying attention at some parts but how did Yun Bao even come about? I thought it was grape this whole time. Or did the show not really go into this? Let me know if yall know

I didnt pay attention to the court scenes or the politics at all in the beginning and I started regretting after ep 20 because I had no idea who was colluding with who or who the “bad guy” even was at some points. I wish I paid more attention because the politics become important from mid point and it’s actually quite fun to watch. Obviously everything will start to make sense after a while but I think it wouldve been more fun if I knew who was who lol

I absolutely hate the silver hair mad man x shopowner side pair… if they’re even a pair. I don’t like the romantic angle on certain scenes. It’s literally SA so it’s hard to watch these scenes. especially the bath scene which was SO LONG and the blurry seductive filter did not help. Idk how things end for them since I’m only at ep 20+ but I hope it doesn’t end well for him

Same I have kind of fallen out of love for them because they always follow the same predictable formula. Although I’m still sitting and waiting for a good one. Contrary to you though I think the sagueks have become less historical, but I kinda get what you mean, sometimes there’s too much politics in shows that are barely political. Like if you advertise yourself as a quirky fusion saguek then just be a quirky fusion saguek

So true as someone who has watched a lot of saguek it felt like I was watching recycled content. it’s very reminiscent of moon embraces the son but farrr more boring and way less complex
