It's interesting to watch Choi Ban Seok correct his peers. He was a very good mentor when advising people on the product pitches and he's a straight shooter when correcting his team mate's errors. Maybe it's different with engineers, but in my world of UX design & research, we have to be a bit more diplomatic.
In the end, it's 90% about making systems better for our users. The other 10% is about making my boss look good.
I found it difficult to empathize with "boyfriend" Sang Soon. For part of the drama, I thought Cutie Pie was made…
I see Shin Gyeom actions towards Young-won as a sign of respect rather than weakness. Romantically pursuing your colleagues is already fraught with enough awkwardness—at least he isn't forcing the situation.
I think you're right about Cutie Pie. She's a plot device. That said, her break-up speech was baffling. I don't remember—did she actually apologize for hurting him? It's unclear to me how Editor Nam contributed to the breakup because we saw so little of the actual relationship. I hope he's able to reflect on the past three years more constructively—once he's able to get past the tsunami of grief.
Ep 9 was unbearable. I don't care that they don't want people to find out, he was nasty. She always apologising…
I think I understand where you're coming from.
I found Ep. 9-10 a bit frustrating, hilariously cringey but ultimately sweet. Ja-sung's "crisis management" is ill-placed here. His performative cruelty is excessive, even if he's colluding with Young-won to cover up their relationship. Hence Eui Joo's fiercely protective response.
As a feminist viewer, "performative" is the key word for me. As you hoped, Ja-sung is changing his style—his heart, really—and he recognizes that there's more to life than the pursuit of money. I love his transparency when he's with her in private but it's fair to dislike his public behavior.
Ja-sung really flails around when he has to lie; I think it's easier to revert back to behavior the staff expects from him. (At this point, I see him as a lovable dork rather than an a**hole.)
Young-won needs work as well. Her docility is the hardest thing to accept about her. She acts the same—in the face of cruelty or unwanted kindness. My biggest hope for her is for her to grow a backbone!
Ep. 7: Mr. Choi tells his reflection: "You still got it." Oh yeah, baby. Competence x kindness is ridiculously attractive. Add to that some lip balm, a new plaid shirt, fresh sneaks with coke-white soles—who can say no?
These 2 are so cute!! YJS confession towards the end was very sincere. His desperation to make it work with her…
Yes, Young-won has a LOT of room for growth when it comes to improving communication—especially when it comes to her needs. (Her shrimp allergy, for example!) I did love how they openly expressed their mutual admiration. Very sweet.
I know it's common to wear masks against pollution, etc. but perhaps it's the show's one concession to acknowledging COVID. IRL, *everyone* is still wearing masks in SK. As of last week, South Korea's vaccination rate (for at least one dose) is about 29-30%.
Charming BTS video from iQIYI featuring Jung So Min playing Chopsticks with Kim Won Hae (Editor-in-Chief Choi). Would LOVE to see more of KWH playing Bohemian Rhapsody (4:45): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TkLTYrTXa8
She's incredibly charismatic and sexy—whether's she's a platinum blond assassin or rule-bending lawyer. I'd love to see Kim Hye Soo in a sageuk! Reading the description for UMBRELLA, it seems like she plays a fictional queen; that will allow her character to have more liberties.

Oh—I'm so sorry, I wasn't thinking straight.
What I did last time (for a casting update to a kdrama) was post the screen cap to my tumblr. Then I included the URL with my editing update in the comment section.
It's really nice of you to do this. I checked the Douban page and saw the child was missing from their cast page as well. So it's really helpful that you're doing this.
I like this drama so far. Xiao Bao is so cute. Why MDL is not listing Xiao Bao's name & picture here? You can…

Oh. This is so rich. I can't tell you how many times we've had consultants organize compulsory workshops to catalogue our grievances and have nothing to show for it.
A colleague of mine from a different unit was complaining about a toxic supervisor. They were hemorrhaging staff so Leadership secretly brought in a "change management" HR consultant to try to fix things. I asked my colleague, "What's change management?" This woman—she's a Ph.D—said, "F* if I know."
ON THE VERGE OF INSANITY is gold and gives me a type of catharsis I didn't know I needed!
Does anyone know the name of the song from the office dance scene in episode 8?
UNCONDITIONALLY by Na Tae Joo. (Spotify lists him as Na Taeju.) Check out this young trot singer's martial arts-inspired dance moves here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a2GVkUOK18
I mainly picked up this drama bcuz of Lee Sang Yeob since he was the only actor I recognized and I enjoyed his…

Once a month, my company has an all-staff meeting which involves a mix of slide decks and presentations. A couple years ago, the meeting's first slide said in all caps: NO ASSHOLES. Our director was riffing on Robert Sutton's 2007 book, "The No Asshole Rule: Building a Civilized Workplace and Surviving One That Isn't."
As our director waxed about our positive work culture, I whispered to my seat neighbor, "I think this is ... aspirational." She snorted. Soon after, she quit because she was sick of having her ideas squashed or given to other staff to execute. I ran into her a couple months later and she said, "My new boss is amazingly transparent. You have no idea how messed up your office culture is until you leave it."
The ending of episode 6 was just😂😂😂. Miss Dang really said " Money at all costs". On a wider note especially…
Han Se Kwon is shite but he does have a talent for exploiting business opportunities. That is its own form of innovation. I can imagine him flourishing in a unit devoted to exactly that type of work—while he leaves the engineering to his more talented colleagues.
