There's no tail (unfortunately 😅) the only difference is that he has blue blood instead of red.
On noes! What a missed opportunity. 😂 I thought we got to see his tail like the one in The Blue Whisper. Do you mind telling me in which episode we can see his blue blood?

Wow amazing review. Thank you so much for taking time to write this. The details in the script is indeed very…
''Its like every scene has meaning like the scripts that the ML wrote to the movies that he watched.''

Yes, everything has meaning in this drama. They didnt just simply show a scene without wanting to achieve something in return. You are right! The movies that Shan Shan watched actually reflect his inner turmoil or state of mind. Like when he started to feel something off regarding his 'brother', he watched A Better Tomorrow (a story about 2 brothers which kind of reflect his relationship with Jia Zhen) that night. And you see him watched a Hong Kong movie and then he has the girl character in his 'Pursuit' script to sing a Cantonese song which is 追心 (Heart Chasing) by Angela Hui which is the official OST for this drama. He did incorporate a lot of his real life in his scripts as can be seen in the drama. Like he used to have trouble to write love stories before then when he started to have feelings towards Liu Xia, even without him realizing it at that time, he ended up writing a better love story (which has elements of his relationship with her) which is liked by everyone.

Or can we talked about Shan Shan's WeChat display picture which is a Baby Dinosaur on the back of Mama Dinosaur? It truly reflect what he wants in his life which is family's love. Because of this, Liu Xia drew a happy boy beside a Dinosaur on the white board to cheer him up since she knew he is unhappy that night. The attention to detail in this drama is amazing. It really made the whole watching experience more worthwhile. :D

Person Ren Jia Lun
i don't watch much of his projects, I always end up skippin the scenes or dropping them, still, i believe he's…
Ohh I'm actually a really big fan of his works. I thought he is truly a gifted actor despite not being trained professionally but I'm probably a much bigger fan for his dramas -- like I genuinely like his dramas' choices & scripts.

I'm a veteran drama watcher and there are certain troupes that I dislike in my dramas but his dramas in general always clicked for me. For an example, The Blue Whisper did everything the opposite of normal XianXia dramas so it is refreshing to see the naive and innocent role is being played by the ML instead. His drama One & Only and Forever & Ever are basically the best romance drama in my book on how it tells a love story without any breakups, misunderstandings, pettiness or games between the leads -- it is a soulmate kind of story that shows how beautiful love can be. Then you have his drama Love a Lifetime which is a Romeo & Juliet story made right -- you usually can predict how this kind of stories will end but this story made many things right including the revenge part and how the sin parents do not pass to the children. Then his republican drama Autumn Cicada -- spy dramas in general always a hit of miss for me since they always just involved circling around the enemies but his character in this drama is very satisfying since his role as a spy actually cause real damage to the enemies. Then his CEO drama Miss Crow with Mr, Lizard -- we used to see how cold & aloof MLs only warms up to the FLs only but here, him meeting the FL just made him revert to his old personality (before his accident) and he started to smile to everyone after that -- not to the FL only.

I can go on and on about why I love his dramas but most of it is because it is pretty unique and didnt actually follow the normal troupes in Cdramas and I appreciate it due to that. His dramas in general has substance and depth (like his recent drama Twilight) and I'm a big fan of such stories that is why it is a joy to follow his works.

How is the bromance? Are there any hurt scene with one male lead worrying about the other and where can I watch…
The friendship is indeed the highlight of the drama for me -- the friendship between the 2 ML and 1 FL. It wasnt bromance like The Untamed or Word of Honour. I watched it at Youtube.

8.5/10 - I really love psychological story like this. I love how they give us enough clues for us to predict the plot twists just before they reveal it. The long explanation kinda of ruin it for me but I think that is just the filmmaker trying to be safe lol. But very entertaining, make you guess kind of movie none the less. There is no sexual tension chemistry between Nini and Zhu Yilong just how the movie supposed to work.

Review Twilight
@tsuyoi-hikari - I read most of your reviews/comments on reddit. Thanks for a great thorough review on Twilight.…
Ohh I'm honored! Thanks so much for your kind words. :D

I just love the script for this drama thats why the lengthy review. Pardon me, I dont think anyone would read it but I just have to get it out of my chest lol.

I've seen mostly all of RJL's dramas so I know his range as an actor. But his most famous dramas are the ones where he is playing cold characters so I always thought many people are missing a lot since I super love his non-aloof characters -- they are really great -- closer to his real life personality as well. And Angelababy did awesomely in this drama -- the part where she is trying to hold back her tears while washing her face in Episode 1 is amazing. And she has awesome chemistry with RJL. I love their relationship -- its very healing and wholesome.

Feel free to drop me a message once you finished this drama if you want to discuss it. I'm on my second rewatch and I notice more details that I didnt realize before like Shan Shan's Basketball's jersey number and his car plate number lol. All characters are 3-dimensional so it makes such an interesting watch.

I just realized this regarding the ending:
Okay, I don't like open ending but this is some very creative open endings that I've seen. There are like 3 endings that you can make conclusion out of this and it all make sense at the same time.

When you look at the drama as a whole -- if you look at the script in details, its more towards the fact that it indeed happened as this drama Twilight that we watched is the last script that Shan Shan wrote; which is the story about him and Liu Xia. Since it is his script, that's why it becomes a comic strip at the end.

But where his script inspiration comes to be? From his real life -- from his life experience with Liu Xia -- this is their story. Its a play within a play and within a play -- School love story (which has penpal element) IN Twilight (the drama that we watched) IN Shan Shan's real life story with Liu Xia.

Ohh it wasnt clear in my review? 😂 Yes, from the surface, it did look like an open ending which can be interpreted to what ever you want it to be.

But if you look at the script in details, its more towards the fact that it indeed happened as this drama that we watched is the last script that he wrote, which is the story about him and Liu Xia. Since it is his script, thats why it becomes a comic strip at the end since this is his script -- this drama that we watched as a whole is his script. But where his script inspiration comes to be? From his real life -- from his life experience with Liu Xia -- this is their story. Its a story (The school love story has penpal element as well), in a story (Twilight the drama that we watched), in a story (his real life story with Liu Xia). Do I make a sense? lol Thats why I said this script is very unique, its a circle.

I just copy & paste from my review:

On the surface, the ending of this drama can be interpreted with these two possible endings:
1) All things happened just like in the drama.
or
2) It’s all a fraction of imagination in Shan Shan’s mind.

However, when you look at the drama as a whole, it pointed more towards the first ending especially when you take into consideration that this drama (Twilight) that we watched as a whole is the last script written by Shan Shan about his story with Liu Xia. This is foreshadow in his conversation with Jia Zhen and also the part during his hot pot date where Shan Shan told why he chose 'Twilight' as the title for his last script to Liu Xia -- because that part of the day is special to them and this is their story. Also, when they play the full second verse of the theme song before the ending credit, then you realized that the one sentence in the lyrics ‘YOU ARE THE ME who broke free from the shackles. Living the life of freedom, basking in the sunshine.’ is the actual message of this whole drama. The theme song is actually can be interpret into 2 meanings -– that the leads indeed healed each other’s hearts BUT when it comes to the outcome, it can only be achieved when the person itself wanted to change as well. The drama ended with Shan Shan telling Brother Kuan on the phone that he has 2 endings for the script that he wrote. At first, you can just pass it as something insignificant but then you realized how all this has been foreshowed since early in the drama. You have his school romance script with 2 endings. Then his crime script 'Pursuit' ended with a shot with no real hint who fire it which indicate that the good or bad guys could possibly won at the end. Then you have the last script ‘Twilight’ with 2 possible endings as well. This is to show that at the end, it all depends on your choice – on whether you want to choose light or darkness in your life.

And these 2 choices have been emphasis in many different scenes in the last 2 episodes of the drama as well:
1) How Mr. Cao told Coco that Shan Shan needs to settle his ‘brother’ matters on his own despite no matter how much they help him, he is the only one can make that decision for his life.
2) Lui Xia teacher saying that how Lui Xia going to overcome her PTSD is all depends on her on whether she wants to confront it or remains in the dark forever.
3) The slap Yuan Yuan gave to herself –- on how she is responsible for her own life and its finally the time for her to wake up from being a bystander and see Jia Zhen on who he truly is.
4) The inner thought of Jia Zhen when he read ‘Pursuit’ ending as in his version, he is the one who making the shot (bad guy won) and in the end, we can see which choice he chose to make as well.

This kind of ending is indeed rare and very creative, so when you understood the reasons behind it, then every little hints in the drama makes sense.

haha thanks! I'm a long time drama watcher so now while watching dramas, I'm more focus on the script and underlying clues rather than anything else. I knew most people just watch from the surface thats why good dramas like this is now at 7.4 which doesn't reflect the actual quality that the script possessed at all.

Yes, what I love about his dramas is that they usually with substance and depth. Its not merely just fluff but tell a legit stories. I have no idea whether he is lucky with his projects but he always chose good production thus watching his dramas are an actual joy.

Forever & Ever also has a lot of details in the script as well. Esp the silent love Zhousheng Chen showed Shi Yi that most of the times, Shi Yi didnt even know it. All of it are very subtle that you can literally pass it as unimportant until you look beyond it and notice the intention that the writer have for the character. Truly fantastic in every level.

Took a few days for me to write it since there are so many unique things about the script. And my review ended up so freaking long lol. I hope many people can see the script as it is intended to be. Fantastic writing without a doubt.

I would recommend K-movie Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned if you are interested with this kind of writing as well -- where the movie happened exactly like you watched it or when you see the details, its the opposite which will creep you out.

is it that bad ?
Its actually one of the better scripts I've seen this year. Thought-provoking and full of details. Its especially more awesome if you can connect all the little details on the characters since they are layered and complex in their own ways -- even the bad guys.

Like for the main bad guy, the whole of the drama, we keep having this flashbacks on how awesome he is and how his teaching and words lead our ML into who he is now. But then, all over the drama, when the ML keeps reminding him on his advises, he will say 'I said that?' meaning he has forgotten he used to have those ideals and you can see how he derails slowly from that. Fantastic writing that focus a lot on details.

Just a heads up, keep watching till they finally revealed the full lyrics of the theme song. Thats the real message that the drama wants to deliver at the end. Brilliant and creative ending. I was taken back a bit when I finally get it lol. Now I understand why most of Shan Shan's script has 2 endings.
