It is such a shame if anyone passed on Joy of Life because of the cliff hanger ending. That drama is like one of the best dramas ever written with how brilliant is the script and acting. Plus, there is not even one stupid decision makings made by both the good and bad guys in the drama which made the story all very compelling and entertaining.
I dont really understand with the rage of the cliff hanger ending. Because, its obvious there will be S2 and S3 according to the novel so the main lead obviously cant die. And, Yan Bingyun is written as Fan Xian's allies in the novel so again obviously, this is a plan by Fan Xian to have Yang Bingyun to stab him in order to fool the 2nd Prince. By making this 2 simple deductions, it was a rather interesting ending instead of a frustrated one.
I personally think he's an excellent actor. I like how he always take various of roles for his dramas and even when he's known for his cold characters, there are difference in all of his portrayals of the same cold characters.
And I also love the fact that despite not being trained as an actor professionally, he put these micro details in his characters which impressed me. For an example, I actually love how he differentiate his smiles for his roles tbh. Like the shy & blissful smiles in Forever & Ever, innocent childlike smiles in The Blue Whisper or overly happy smiles in Love a Lifetime. Same with his crying scenes as well -- there is variations of it in all of his roles. So you see him as the character he is playing instead of overlapping him with his other characters from before.
Plus, I like how his lips will tremble during sad or angry scenes. Those are hard to do unless he is feeling those emotions from that scene when he is acting them. And he picked mostly good scripts which makes all his dramas are watchable for me -- this is for me the most important things for an actor that he actually picked good projects to be part of.
Now everytime he comes out with new dramas, I have faith it will be good esp scriptwise. And I like this when an actor can give me assurance on this part. :D
from my standpoint, you should watch JJ, doberman, youngwoo, insider, big mouth & may it please the court (best…
Thank you! As long as the writer actually do his/ her research and the technical aspect of the legal were correct, then I'm ok. I'm dont like US shows in general but their legal dramas are the best tbh. The Practice, Boston Legal, Lincoln Lawyer are amazing legal dramas which do not use dramatic stuffs to move on their plot but rather actual legal matters with credibility.
Right... it's rare for me to like FLs, since sometimes they're badly written and dramatic, like childish, screams…
lol I thought I'm the only one. I usually find that my liking for dramas will increase tremendously when they have likable FLs. Because like you said, most of them are badly written, dramatic and some are just not very bright thus causing unnecessary angst and misunderstanding... :(
So far, my experience with legal Kdramas are so disappointing since many of the technical aspects were so dumb and wrong. The last one I watch is The Witch's Court which makes me afraid to try this genre again. Is the dramas on this list suffers from the same fate? Because I would love to watch Big Mouth.
I genuinely do not understand his popularity and how he keeps getting cast in romances. If he's uncomfortable…
I dont understand it either until I actually watch his dramas. He actually really good in romantic scenes despite he might not kiss his co-stars. I find it weird as well but his chemistry with his co-stars has always been one of the highlights for his dramas. I watched his drama due to curiosity but now I'm a fan and finally understood his appeals and charms.
And he has been kissing his co-stars starting with Forever & Ever. And even in The Blue Whisper, there is a lot of kissing scenes as well.
Wait, so the whole country cannot get married for 7 years? So what happen if they did? The couple will be punished? 7 years is a really long time. So I assumed, birthrate will also suffered during this time?
Thank you so much for reading the article 💗 To be honest, I feel through this article i've realised there are…
I think only people who have watched Kdramas more than 10 years can really understand what we go through. New viewers will still view Kdramas in rose-colored glass and didnt really register how predictable it is in general.
I think the angst level is pretty okay in all the 3 dramas. Except for Flower of Evil. But that one is really good. The angst parts of the drama is what makes the drama so awesome aside from the performances of the leads.
The happy one is he met her at the bridge like he promised before she went into the pagoda. Before he 'sacrificed'…
No, he promised her to meet at the broken bridge and he meet her after 7 days -- though he was late. We thought he sacrifice himself and died but he didnt. Xu Xuan always fulfill his promise so no matter how impossible, he will find the way.
Actually, both endings have him met her at the broken bridge. But for the 2nd ending, he took longer since the scene at the bridge already change with lots of lotus flower at the bridge. So, he probably took months instead of 7 days like the first ending.
I already fell out of love for so many years with Kdramas. I found it too predictable and formulative. And I cant take the pretencious endings! ;_; But then I come back once in a while when masterpieces like Secret Forest, Flower of Evil & Mr Queen comes out.
I just finished this drama.. Could you explain the ending for me.. He met her on the bridge. She says lets not…
Before Xu Xuan 'sacrificed' himself at the last episode, he told Qi Xiao to tell Yao Yao that the promise to met at the bridge wouldn't be broken (even if he perished) so he fulfilled it like he always does. He never broke his promises to Yao Yao. Like Qi Xiao said, Xu Xuan has cheated him many times and what he learned is that Xu Xuan will play every trick there is possible to do things that he wants until it succeeded.
There are 2 endings. But the happy ending makes more sense as it lined up with all the events that happened before FL went into the pagoda. 1) How the ML never broke his promise once he promised something to the FL 2) Madam Li told him to take care of the FL himself when she finished her punishment as no one else will do that except him 3) ML told 2ML to tell FL that the promise to meet at the bridge would not be broken even if he perished. 4) He fulfilled all his promises and meet her at the bridge eventhough he is late.
hows the ending.. ? anyone? i see that theres a happy and a sad one... whats the happy one ? is it good closed…

I personally feel that 2022 is the best year for Cdramas compared to the other countries. I basically only been catching up since there is so much I want to watch but havent really got the time. I hope it will continue in 2023 as well.
The end of the drama was tottally surprising! I thought she chooses Yu Jie, and here this turn of events! WOW!!…
This is because they reshoot the ending after the survey they made online on who should the FL lead ended up with. It caused quite a stir since the production team willing to change the integrity of the story based on the audiences' preference.
