Yi Chen intentionally lost contact with his brother and his bf for all those years, he was afraid Lu Feng would go after them if he doesn't find him. He reunited with them later after he woke up from his coma. And his ex wife tried to find him and yes by the time she came it was too late but I think that was the best she could do. If Yi Chen didn't get shot, Lu Feng's murderous rage wouldn't have stopped. He'd have probably killed him and then himself. That man is scary AF.

I am someone who's not into stereotypical straight rom-coms but I loved every bit of this show, it was amazing!

One of the very few shows where both the male leads are breathtakingly handsome! Tall, hot and lethal face cards!

Lu Feng locked him up in his house. He locked all the doors and took away his phone. Plus, he had several bodyguards on standby outside the main door. Yi Chen had no way to contact the outside world.

The lyrics - you walk in with a warning sign - playing when Big Jane walks in is so perfect!

Lu Feng was already showing red flag signs since the very beginning. He has been aggressive and forceful since day 1. He gets so mad every time things don't go his way, he just never tries to sit down and understand Yi Chen's point of view. Even their first time was non-consensual. He's in an entirely different level of toxic.

The difference between Lu Feng and Jane Patrick is that Jane Patrick gracefully left Little Jane when he realized he became too toxic towards him but Lu Feng would rather kill Yi Chen and himself than leaving Yi Chen alone, he just never stops chasing him and obsessing over controlling him and confining him in his love.

I loved that show, it was unapologetically dark and toxic but I can understand why some others may not like it, because there are many triggering scenes.

And when Little Jane entered the room to peek in, Big Jane fucked him inside the room making him face his own statue and in the same position, it was absolutely WILD 😭

Remember the photos in the art exhibition that Big Jane bought? He put all those photos in the secret room. And he crafted a life size statue of Little Jane with his own hands in a very specific position - face down on the table - and you can only imagine what he did with that statue all those years when he couldn't be with Little Jane :)

I agree! I mean, I don't dislike Yi Chen. But all black would suit him so much for those scenes! The actor is so gorgeous in real life, why did they have to try so hard to make him look ugly and homeless? :[

Also, I relate to you so much. Double Helix left a deep impact on me too! Bcuz of the multilayered story and characters, the unfiltered toxicity, the ground reality of their families and the world around them and the tragedy of their love - all these things combined. There is no sugarcoating. It felt very unapologetically dark and raw. Combined with good cinematography, soundtrack and acting.
