I have watched ep 27 several times for the dialogue between the leads when they talked about changes and seeing things from a distance.

It didn't lose direction. It starts out with Xu Yan trying to conform in order to be with the man she loved. Then it went into Xu Yan needing to prove to herself that she can succeed on her own. That is the reason she resigned as an anchor. And from there, the relationship moved into one that is more balanced. If you listen to the words of the characters, this recurring theme is expressed by many. Even Haoming's assistant told him, "Yan works hard just to prove her worth and strength to you. These days people want equal and balanced love. " In episode 19 the parody of the Twilight romance with Edward and Bella runs parallel with our lead couple's romance. This is the reason it ended as it did...well, without spoiling it for others, the ending was perfect for the drama's direction.

However, I agree; I would have loved to see a final episode with the family together. I assume Yan Yan's heart condition was something she was born with that was fixed at some point in childhood. As for more depth, Love's Ambition has such depth I keep rewatching to see if I missed anything.

In ep 20 he told the truth about how he felt about her at dinner with other couple but she thought he was just putting on an act. She helps him though. They both look out for each other. I don't remember what happened in ep 22. I have been rewatching the last 5 episodes and paying close attention to all the parallels. Ep 27 is lovely. Hang in there.

If you remember when she resigned from her anchor job she vowed to prove to herself that she would succeed on her own. And she is still trying to do that. It is also about feeling equal in the relationship. Haoming on the other hand wants her back. But he needs to open up and work on his communication.

I don't think you have ever seen me get upset with a FL but this time I did at one point and you are getting close to that episode. But after I thought about it, I could see why this happened.
