Why did you drop it after seeing the man in black? And not only that. What he did at the end of ep 2 made this an instant 10 for me. I knew I was going to love Sang Yan and I do.

I also loved Victor Ma as the big brother in HL but if you watch The First Frost you will not be disappointed with Bai Jing Ting as Sang Yan. I cannot explain to you the way I feel watching the way Sang Yan looks at Yi Fan..the way he treats her. Bai Jing Ting is beautiful to watch in every way. He is perfect!

She didn't tell them anything. And didn't Yi Fan move to another school and further away? Sang Yan was traveling 1 1/2 hr by train to see her according a comment here. I am going to read the book so I can try to understand some of it. I am thinking they didn't see each other much once she went to another school.
