This so heartbreaking for PWX. I feel sad for him in his previous life to go through this only to have her kill him. But his love was so beautiful the way he tried to change the outcome and wasn't even angry at her for killing him.

From the drama I got that she misunderstood his feelings for QZZ. But reading about the past LR's intimacy with SRQ even if she thought there was no hope for her and PWX, is still distasteful especially as I gather she didn't love SRQ and always had PWX in her heart. I am happy the screenwriter did not go into that.
Perfect comment π. Pwx and lr make such an amazing couple, they have a beautiful bond that cannot be broken…
With AASOL, you have to watch all subtle expressions and body language. When you get to a certain scene were the music sounds like the start of the theme to The Titanic, think...Titanic iconic scene then you will understand the allusions. This director might have been avoiding censorship or likes to leave clues π

Thank you! I will go read it now. As for LR and SRQ's relationship, if PWX refused the women sent to him because it didn't feel right, why did she not remain faithful to him? And you know I have been singing her good points in the drama but I dislike what I have read in the book about her relationship with SRQ in her previous life. I had to activate delete and block part of my brain so I could enjoy the drama. And I also had to separate previous from past in this aspect and watch them in the now.
Well written. I love that you touched on the novel vs. drama. I also checked on parts of the novel to enhance a few scenes. There were a few times I did and wished I had not because there were details about LR's previous life with SRQ that took away from the romance. I rather think of her the way I see her in the drama. While I can understand the book readers' frustration, I watched the drama for the drama and rated it as such. I agree with those who wished there was less of SRQ in the final episode because I would have liked to have seen more of the main leads. However, like you, I did not lower my ratings because of it.
I felt pity for SRQ at the end even if I wished they had closed his story faster so we could have seen the grand wedding and more closure on the cp. But I get the directors want their glory and the fire scene is supposed to be a huge exit. I didn't read the novel but from flashbacks and reading a few chapters of the novel, I think LR always loved PWX. She never loved SRQ but she had feelings for him having spent a large part of her life with him in the previous life. He was pitiful. Even though I didn't like his character and found him annoying, I still felt some pity for him. It is a shame viewers were so upset over SRQ's screen time and what they feel was preferential treatment by the director that they have downrated this drama. ZLH was amazing in this. He had me loving PWX from the start and portrayed his character in such a way I could see the different layers of his character's personality and recognize his intellect.
I feel the same about ZLH. I know he was great in SOKP, but it was here in TPR that he totally stood out for me. He made me love PWX. I am looking forward to his future dramas.
The trailer showed the leads and the kids. I know these bonus episodes are no more than 5 or 10 mins but I would…
Are you saying you now believe there is a bonus episode? I wasn't sure if you were talking about TPR or Dashing Youth because you put i in one sentence.

LOL! I laughed when I saw that comment. Who knew my mission to spread some love for the drama would identify me as a bot! I would tell my family this story but they already think I am obsessed with Cdramas. The ratings have dropped again. I feel as if sweet PWX has been beaten up for the hate of SRQ. I came into this excited because Jin Mai is an actress who never disappoints. I liked ZLH as well and both are good looking so Win Win! I came out loving ZLH so much for his portrayal of PWX. I am going to rewatch SOKP and looking forward to his future endeavors. I hope he gets to costar with Lusi or Zhang Jing Yi and I am happy there is a strong possibility of seeing him with Mai Mai again.
I have only read a few specific chapters in the novel so I do not have the same perspective of the novel readers but I understand the frustration especially as some like yourself have taken the time to explain. I would read the novel in full but I'm not too fond of certain parts of the novel concerning LR and SRQ in the previous life. It spoils the romance. I rather remember the PeiRong the way I see them in the drama. Even if the screenwriter left out parts of the novel that showed LR's love for PWX, I was convinced and fully invested by ep 11 in their love for each other. However, I would like to read the brothel part. It is really a shame that was left out.
Thank you for your response. I was using my phone and for some reason it is so difficult typing into MDL. This problem started recently where there is delay. I don't know if it is my phone of MDL but it is only in the forums and not in messages that I have this problem. Now I keep my answers to the bare essentials when using my phone.
By the way, the preview for the special episode is out now on the YOUKU app and it is subbed as a trailer. Itβs…
I just had two people tell me that this is a fraud and that it is impossible for there to be a bonus episode as the drama clearly had an ending. Since you are saying it is in the YOUKU app, this is real, right? π
