One of the I tropes I hate: "Oh it's the first time my best friend showed interest to a girl so now I'm also interested in her." 🙄
I really don't like the romance part and I hope they get rid of it. This is more of a business drama and with the time skip on episode 2's ending, it looks like Han Taeoh focused only on his studies/career that's why he managed to climb the ladder. I love his ambitious personality and IDGAF attitude. I'm so glad how he's not letting any distractions come to his way and he actually knows to reject things. He's smart for using connections while maintaining his strong independence. I'm so curious to see more of his journey!
"12.12: The Day" made me scared more than a horror movie. Honestly, I didn't understand what was happening, but…
For those who don't know, this movie shows the political conflict that happened before which caused the Gwangju uprising where thousands of people were massacred by the military. It's utterly disgusting. Highly recommended to watch the movie "A Taxi Driver" (2017) about that event, if you haven't yet.
"12.12: The Day" made me scared more than a horror movie. Honestly, I didn't understand what was happening, but it was so intense and nerve wracking that my heart was pounding with each decisions and actions the characters make next. Only in the end did I realize what everything is about and who these people are... Stupid, coward, evil. It instantly made me cry so much. It's unbelievable and hopeless. The ending of this movie isn't really the end, but just the beginning of a horrible time in South Korea's history.
This is not a bad drama, but I just didn't like it. I find the female lead annoying while the male lead is boring. I couldn't feel them. It's just an average drama that didn't made me care about the characters.
But I was more interested seeing the second male lead with his sports car and the guy who's a dolphin lover 😂
Kinda random, but I wonder why "A Shop for Killers" is labeled as a spin-off for "The Killer's Shopping List" when it's not at all? I thought they would be set in the same universe and Park Jibin will play the same character, but everything's different and there's no connection to both dramas.
I like how everytime he punches people in the movies, they would go off flying. He's the only one doing that 😂
Ma Dongseok is probably the top action star in Korea, but is there also other Korean actors that are known as prominent action star? I've watched many Korean movies and seen some actors doing action, but I'm not that familiar to them compared to Ma Dongseok who I immediately call "action star" since he starred in many action movies. Can someone tell the others?
For those who don't know, the movies "Concrete Utopia" (2023) and "Badland Hunters" (2024) are set in the same universe. It also includes the dramas "Bargain" (2022) and "Pleasant Outcast" (soon). They're not really direct prequels/sequels since they have different plots/characters, but they still have connections. All are post apocalyptic genre about a massive earthquake that shows different kinds of people and their own situations in the aftermath. I really love this universe they're making and I hope they would also make another one that shows the side of the rich elite people (I can imagine them hiding in their bunkers lol).
Personally, my favorite is Concrete Utopia since it has a unique theme and deep layers to it that left a strong impression on me. It's slow paced and gloomy, so some people might find it boring. While Badland Hunters is a fast paced action flick and Sci-Fi that focuses on the fights and experiments. It's cool and simply enjoyable.
I miss those times when kdramas actually cast young actors for the teen counterparts of the main leads. I mean it's still happening, but it's bothering how it's becoming frequent with the 30+ years old actors playing their teen counterparts. It's obviously awkward and out of place (it also reminds me of that news about a mom sneaking in the school while pretending to be her daughter 😅). One of the ridiculous things was when Cha Taehyun, who's 47 years old, played a highschool student in Moving. I'm glad more actors are finally speaking up about it and I hope casting directors keep that in mind.
I want a kdrama adaptation of Harry Potter and The School for Good and Evil. As a huge fan of fantasy, I really hope there will be a magic school plot in kdrama.
Kim Hye Joon is so underrated. She is an insanely good actress! Got the looks and the skills. I don't know why…
Kim Hyejoon is amazing and she's one of my favorite actresses. She's actually well loved and had lead roles before. But since she mostly stars in thriller dramas, she's not that popular compared to other actresses.
This drama seems to be getting viral so hopefully she gains more attention too.
Only 2 episodes out and I already love it that I rated it 10! It's so amazing and satisfying. Love the thrill with the assassins. Love the emotional part with the uncle. Love the action with everyone. The female lead is quiet and calm but she unknowingly acquired some knowledge and experience from her uncle. Can't wait to see her growth and how she'll fight those assassins along with her tech savvy childhood friend.
I really like the vibes and aesthetics of this movie. It feels refreshing and comfy. It also feels nostalgic due to the "old TV" frame they have.
I noticed how Riho Yoshioka looks so young in here. Maybe it's because of her natural makeup/styling and polite character, but she literally looks younger than anyone in the cast.
Anyways, BTS has been mentioned and referenced in a lot of kdramas for so many years until now even when they're not active. Here's a list of it: https://kisskh.at/list/10dl9mo1
Edit: You just admitted how bitter you are that hearing BTS easily got you so triggered that you had to accuse them and spread negativity. Yikes. You just can't accept that BTS is widely popular that it's actually common for them to be mentioned in kdramas. It's not even about their songs being played, most of the writers just simply mentioned BTS because they're relevant and they like them. You just sound even more bitter trying to twist things in your comments and proudly saying you're a hater, such an attention seeker.
I am not sure how this works behind the scenes but I wonder who came up with the idea? Maybe BigHit wanted BTS…
Well actually, BTS has been mentioned and referenced in a lot of kdramas through the years (here's a list of it: https://kisskh.at/list/10dl9mo1). And as someone commented, it is fitting for the time travel concept. There's also deep meanings behind the songs they used. Spring Day is a tribute song to the Sewol Ferry Tragedy in 2014 while Dynamite is a song released due to the pandemic in 2020. So going back to the past in 2013 before these bad events happened also gives more meaning to the drama.
LOL I love how BTS was mentioned in this drama and how they became the connection for the main leads. Dynamite and Spring Day were played, and they even have to show its released dates. What an iconic scene! I think it made the "reveal" more unique and creative. It's so funny yet dramatic.

16-Year-Old Girl Wakes Up Every Day Thinking It’s June 11
This is a headline from a real event. I just watched this news again and I remembered this movie. Compared to the movie where the girl just suddenly returned her memory, in real life, the girl found a treatment. Gladly she recovered.
