Agree Jeremy Tsui is such a marvellous actor. I can tell because he brings so much nuance to the role of Marquis Pei. It is the first time that I have watched him. I am in love with his acting. You summed it up well. Marquis Pei is a cunning individual with a twisted sense of values. How could he possibly think that he could win FL's affection by framing her for murder? That's pathetic. He will not appease his obsession for FL this way.
I have the hunch that his mother is key a character to this conspiracy. I wait for the moment when the lead will team up to right the wrongs.
2ML is trying to deceive his mother in order to safeguard FL's life. I don't think he stands a chance in front of his mother. She is too proactive. She knows his every move beforehand.
There is a conspiracy involving ML's family demise and there is a lot o people involved. And several missions at the sames time. So some viewers find it complicated. I personnaly like it . So far it is a great plot political plot. Yes it is complex but not complicated. I like this show very much because it is not boring and will not be because of the complexe conspiracy.
