It is not about the gender. This is human nature. It is most difficult to fight with love than to fight with hate. A fight with love will give more peace and love than a fight with hate. example : Mahatma Gandhi and the way he fought colonialism.
It is belittling ML to think that his courtship makes of him a simp. He is a very strong man in my opinion. I think that it is more difficult to forgive (his mother and FL) than retaliate against (his mother and FL).

Yes I am watching it. Yes SML is her childhood friend, he is the son of the main antagonist. As such, he can be ruthless and cruel but at the same time I think that he is a victim of his father's mental abuse. So half villain, half victim. Rest assured, on paper it is a love triangle but at first glance (ep 1) you will understand that this is more of a marriage of convenience. I did not see FL in love with him. In my opinion, she is just supposed to be with him. And he is clinging on her. So this is more about an unrequited love than a love triangle. So you can give it a try.

Normal that she took the money. It is for decorum. She had to find I reason for ML to hate her. And accept the break-up. But surprise!! ML knows his mother ( cunning and manupulative, domineering mother). He did not even pay attention and decided to cling on her.
This is why I stated that the guilty one in all this is the mother in law.
Update : I don't agree with spineless either because you have to be very courageous in the world of the richest and connected people to oppose your mother for a poor girl. ML is just head over heels in love with her so he is fighting his Mother for her.

Yes She rejects him.... Blame it on her Mother in law. If she had respected her son's choice and welcomed FL. All this mess would have never happenned. The mother in law came and threw monney at FL's face with desdain. FL understood that she would be miserable all her life in this family and I can understand her.
