Recipe for a top-tier drama:
Good story/script - obviously the most important
Good character visuals - let's be honest, this is a big factor
Good acting - good visuals can only carry you for some time, acting skills will set you apart
Good director/set/cinematography - often budget related, but a good director knows how to best capture good angles and evoke emotions thru cinematography

It's VERY RARE that a Cdrama hit all these criteria, often they excel in one and lack on others.
But so far, Chasing Jade is hitting all these criteria for me.
I hope it continues like this til the last episode 💕

Loving everything so far, except for Qianqian actress. She's very pretty but she doesn't carry the same aura from the novel character. Hopefully I warm up to her character in the next episodes.

Can already tell Gongsun will be their biggest shipper and will have the time of his life teasing Zheng 😆

Also, I was not a fan of the previous female general shows as I find them too forced. It doesn't look believable that the FL is indeed that strong so it usually feels cringe for me.
But here, seeing ChangYu fight, somehow it works for me. The vibe doesn't try too hard with that 'look at me, I'm cool' scenes that are often in other dramas.
Here there is natural flow that ease you into caring and believing in the characters.

With the amount of hype, I was scared it would disappoint. But so far, so good.
The novel premise was good but I dropped it at some point as I feel there were too many filler chapters.
I'm liking that the tv version is somehow fast paced.
And can we agree that the visuals here is absolutely divine.
I'm so far loving it. I think it's still quite far ahead, but I'm already looking forward to the 'big reveal' of his identity. The events that lead up to that were quite hilarious.

Title Running Man
The OG Runningman vibes is back! I want to give the new PD the biggest hug, it's very obvious she's reviving the original spark of the show. After more than a decade I thought, they were done already, just that they exist like a legacy show. But the new PD shows that they still got it. I love that they recently leans to nostalgia (showing many old clips) and at the same time creating fresh enjoyable content. 💕

Caught up with the eps. I'm still torn whether to believe or not.
The logical side of me is still very skeptical.
First of all, the producers of this show must be real believers. Because imagine if from the get-go no one got anything right, there will be no content at all.
The logical side of me is saying, perhaps a few members of the production (not including the panel, hence their reactions are real) have agreement with some of the contestants (those who make it far into the challenges). Difficult to reinforce strict NDA with 43+ people. It's a win win situation, you get good content and at the same time the shaman, saju readers etc gain more credibility.
Nonetheless, this definitely sparked my curiousity and I will include a trip to a shaman next time I'm in Korea.

Ep2 and it's giving me chills.
Part of me is still skeptical though, like what if someone from production 'secretly leaked' the questions.
But if this is realdeal, I'm gonna include visiting a shaman in my next trip to Korea.

I was going thru his works and realized he really knows how to pick good projects. Definitely legend status in korean cinema

Ep9. Does it have 2 burgers for budget, because why is FL always wearing the same clothes ? 🥲
On the positive, the fight scene is kinda good despite the obvious low production.
I still cringe here and there, but since it has established itself as 'that kind' of series early on, I am able to just roll my eyes, let go and enjoy it the way it is. 😆
It is really giving heavy otome game vibes, specially the soundtrack.

I'm on ep1 and what in the cringefest is this. It's like fever dream mix of Love& Deepspace and Alpha/Omega stories hahaha
Let's see if the hype on tiktok is real
On Adventure by Accident Season 4 Jan 24, 2026
I SUPER LOVE this series and I hope they do more seasons with the same cast. I'm a bit sad that not many international viewers know about it, but at the same time have the urge to gatekeep it, as sometimes negativity comes with fame.
This show is raw, authentic, fun and healing. They picked the right casts.
I have always adored Kian's unique personality, this show made me appreciate him even more. He's such a genuine person.
With SiEon, I also have a soft spot too. He always seems to me a person who doesn't have a big ego and is humble.
Admittedly, I wasn't a Dex fan during Single's Inferno. But this show made me see him in a different light.
Pani Bottle, I didn't know anything about him before this. But I immediately liked him the first moment he appeared in India and was very considerate and sat on the edge of the tuktuk cab.
The panel in the studio are also amazing.
In normal shows like this, the panels always tries to nitpick and make fun of the members. But here, the panel makes funny comments without bringing any of the casts down. They are also sensitive in addressing culture differences. This makes the show healing.
It is not loud, it does not try too hard, and yet you feel each episode is packed with fun, curiosity, chaos and heartwarming moments.
Kudos to all who built this show.
Easily rose to my top 10 K-variety!
On Culinary Class Wars Season 2 Dec 30, 2025
Idk if it's just me, but I feel like this is less exciting than season 1. I'm on ep7 and aside from the monk I can't remember anyone. Compared to s1 where early on they can make you root for an individual, here I feel less concerned who wins.
Replying to Kickback68 Dec 21, 2025
The best season of this show is still season one, good acting and stunts, clear punishment for the antagonists,…
I had the same observation. I think this was a conscious decision taken by the producer and the writer. They seem to be clear now on which direction they want to take this show. The overarching elements that were present in S1 and in the original material took a backseat. Seems the show is now being used to mirror real life society issues and giving hope and happy ending. It's kinda formulaic at this point, but it works and will give the show unlimited plot materials for longevity. I guess adding an element of pursuit from government justice system knowing they will just outsmart them each time will be tiring. Plus, with how sensitive Korean government is, if they want this show to last (specially since they are showing real life inspired cases), they should not always highlight how incompent or selective the justice system is. Better just keep the show fun and focus on the team and the villains.
On Kian's Bizarre B&B Dec 21, 2025
I wonder how the father with 2 sons is doing. The reveal about his situation was so unexpected. I cried a lot on that episode.
