For people who are always asking why Kim Ki Bang isn't on the list, I'll make a brief summary First and foremost,…
I was about to post and ask about this 😆 I found it weird that they never mentioned him ever again. I hope they are still on good terms and he can be on future shows.
No way that won’t move or budge mid air. Something unseen is at play. Remember Totem Pole challenge that was…
The totem pole actually has an explanation. JP did finish the challenge with partially engaged pins, they were just edited out. I think Netflix handled it well and protected their integrity. I love team JP but who knows what went into Okami and Katsumi's head on why they didn't report it immediately. And tbf with KR, after SeungGil and Minjae let go, the totems did drop. So I think they are clean there. It's just really with the castle conquest challenge that is questionable. I wish they release more scenes to put everyone mind's at ease. If that was a clean win, it's also not fair for the Korean players that they were being slandered. So I hope Netflix release official statement or special episode.
I'm not questioning KR's ability to finish that in 17mins. But it's really puzzling to me how JP was not able to finish within an hour. They were literally on the gate for 45mins. And this is a team that is not only strong but strategic. I get it that they might be behind when it comes to raw power and weight and they might struggle more, but that task shouldn't be impossible for them. They were able to lift it already halfway thru and then it's just stucked. I have always defended this show when people say it is rigged, but today I have some doubts whether the gate's hinge were jammed or something. The only consolation I have is it seems the team accepts it and there is no indication whatsoever of foul play (or it was probably written in NDA 🥲)
Unless you are suggesting that the totem pole release failure was intentional, I don't see how this was telling.…
I'm not saying it is intentional. But it seems many details are flying over viewers head. Logically, it is puzzling why Japan did not report it. But who know what's running in their mind or how the totems really felt to them. But it is also true that if Netflix didn't leave it vague, people would bash them. Seeing how only few people caught on that JP was there for 40+mins and people were left and right praising them for honesty whereas creating conspiracies for Korea. JP did benefit from the way it was edited.
And no, there is no adrenaline or anything on their 2nd try. They didn't even try, they literally only held on for a few seconds. Because the moment Itoi won the sack relay, Turkey is already going home.
The whole thing is a situation that luckily ended well. If the totem points was a deciding factor, I'm sure there will be some rumors circulating. I know for a fact that Turkey were upset they didn't get to redo the totem. But Netflix made the right choice, it would be unfair for Mongolia if they redo as they already did so well.
Word is circulating that Korea was on the same problematic totem pole too but didn’t report. Japan is famous…
Only one pin. After rewatching, I can 100% confirm they did finish the challenge. It was probably discovered after they let go and then one of the pole did not fully drop. The interview was also telling, Katsumi said when the challenge started "there is nothing in their mind other than to hold on". Sounds to me like a bit of an excuse on why they didn't bring it up early. Anyway, I still like team JP, Itoi carried them in the sack toss that the totem challenge doesn't matter anymore.
I'm saying it now and not just because I'm rooting for them. But I think Team Japan will be the WINNER. The way Netflix protected their reputation in the totem pole issue is very telling. Seems they do not want to give room for any scandal that will smear their victory. Thank goodness those totem points are irrelevant afterall.

Why I'm leaning towards situation B is that it seems Japan was still on the totem til Mongolia let go. If you watch the people on the background while they show Mongolia on the totem, Katsumi and Okami were not with their team. Also, when Mongolia let go, the 4 Japanese members celebrated as if they won 1st place. Makes me think JP was on the totem the whole time but Netflix edited it and made a point not to show them. So it is possible they were 'holding on' for 40mins and it was only discovered after they let go and the totems did not fully drop. I'm not hinting that is intentional or dishonest, it's also possible they think it is not too heavy or the other person is carrying the weight that's why it's lighter.
The only thing that they left vague is how the partially engaged pins of the totem challenge were discovered. a. Did Japan immediately report it after feeling it was lighter? Kudos to them then! b. Did they pretend to hold on and only discovered after the totems did not drop fully after they let go? That's a bit 🤔 c. They really can't tell that the weight was less.
Love teamJP but I have a feeling it was situationB, that's why Netflix left it vague 🥲
Also contrary to others, I agree with the decision that only JP repeats the challenge. Mongolia did so well, it would be a waste if they were in worse conditions on the rematch. They don't have to suffer twice. And thankfully, JP did well on the sack relay and avoided further repercussions on having to repeat the totem challenge. Had that been the sway points, I know many would question the rematch decision.
I think they knew, even Alexandra mentioned she had some doubts about sending all their big boys first and what if they lose. But they are just too confident they'd win 😆
So many bird brain comments on tiktok. I'm not even rooting for SoKor, but if you're gonna slander atleast give a believable argument or proof. All they have is ' tHis iS a kOReAn sHow , of coure they will win' 🥴 , ' they have a history of rigging' 😵💫. I know it's a hard pill to swallow if your team got eliminated but it is what it is. So far the first 9episodes are CLEAN.
I get what you mean but at the same time I think it’s also their fault for not having taken on this eventuality.…
Agreed. Alexandra clearly said that she had some doubts about the lineup. But I guess the rest (specially the men) were too confident that they couldn't even be bothered having a plan B.
that being said- yeah korea was smart for planning ahead but i feel like they could've won against australia if…
I think it's because they learned their lesson from the bad decision in the hurdle game. Korea thought they got it by sending their big players in the first game and then AU (Dom) smashed them. Now they went for the too conservative approach.
agreed. there was no way they'd just let the rest of the team sit around and do nothing. they were overconfident,…
Yeah, Alexandra mentioned it briefly that they should atleast plan in case they lose. But they probably ignored that thought as all the previous games (plus the minigames) were dominated by them. It would suck if they get eliminated because of this. But in the end, strategy is also part of the game.

Also the rope challenge was shot another day so it wasn't really a factor.
