Such a splendid cast, but why does it feels like this is a 2010 drama? lol
Maybe I so got used to StudioDragon production style.

The only weakness I've seen so far is this drama doesn't have iconic BGM or songs.
Like if I think of LBFAD, AOL, TMOPB, ELOD I immediately recall scenes and the music.
But I guess having FeiYu's real voice is good enough audio 😌🤣

I plan to read the novel only after this airs, for this exact reason of not wanting comparison.
I did notice writer avoids dragging angst, even their misunderstanding are shortlived. I'm a fan of angsty series, but here I don't mind the 'lack' of it. I'm liking this fast paced version.
As a tv version only, the 18yr sleep is fine for me.
Gave a logical excuse for the barrier break, and also
on the flipside, if he was awake and so powerful it would make me question why he wasn't able to find her soon.
But anyway, I completely understand this sentiments when comparing novel and tv version. As much as I like POB, I think it was subpar compared to the novel.
I guess lucky me I haven't read the novel yet for WDBTD and don't have points for comparison.

Also makes me excited to read it then as it would feel like a completely different story.

Aww, would have preferred if they stayed in the cultivation world. The modern world just seem so dull in comparison haha

I actually really appreciate how fast paced this is. It seems scriptwriter also hates dragging plots along.
I plan to read the novel after this airs, so as not spoil the joy I'm feeling about the tv version now.

This show started as a fun low commitment story but it just gets better and better with each episode.
I love it! Absolutely one of the best release this year. Hope they sustain this momentum.

Yup, I think it's a good decision he's really picky with dramas. It helps that his family is well off financially and can afford shooting breaks. I've always liked him since L&P, amazing and immersive actor, makes you feel like some scenes are all ad-lib and not on script.
In ZLH's case it seems he was taking as much project as he can, but since he's sort of established now maybe he'll start looking more into quality scripts.

And thank God they did not cake makeup on ML's face. No thick orangey lipstick, heavy eyeliner or even sharp brows! I like that he looks really natural. Grandmaster looks so fresh! 🙇‍♂️🙏💝

I've noticed it before in L&P with all those coding scenes, and I keep noticing it again here; FeiYu's hands are really pretty 🫶

He was wrong to force her that, but at the same time it is realistic and consistent with his character (and tbf, from his pov - it was necessary she learns to kill before being killed). I appreciate that no personality switch happened after they fall in love. But rather they are showing an organic character development as they go along.

Fought and made up in the same ep.

They all seemed to have big reaction when they heard TingYao is a demon, as if that is a death sentence itself in the Immortal realm.

That line where he said 'You're taking it out on me' when she was being irritatable. I don't know why I like it so much.haha It's so refreshing to see what healthy relationship they have.
For all the bad stuff they are going thru, they are really pretty chill couple.

From what I understood, those slaves are from demon realm. They're basically like prisoners of war in the Yin Palace. Her mother is one of those slaves, and their dream is to get back to demonrealm. Which is why RuLing wants to lift the barrier.

I think he's really picky with dramas and characters he play. He might missed a bit with Eat,Run,Love, but so far, LiXun and Sima Jiao are iconic.
This makes me excited for Love Beyond the Grave even though I'm trying hard to manage expectation.haha
