There was no point to make up this lie. BJS was not scheming, and the Empyrean don't care what HRY knows or not know.
The only sensible explanation with this XJS debacle is if the 500yrs was on and off imprisonment.He gets released then captured again etc. Then there will be less plotholes. Wish they just said a line that confirms that.

I can only repeat what I wrote before. He made all those plans while in prison after meeting BJS. There are a lot of plotholes if you think things logically. I'm sorry, I know you try to rationalize the events but these simplistic explanation doesn't really cut it for me.
Let's just leave it at that. I'm glad you find the ending satisfying, wish I had the same feeling but not. I also see a lot of Chinese viewers on Rednote mention same issue, we were a bit led by the scriptwriter but they didn't deliver very well on some aspects of the story.

It was mentioned he took interest on Yue after seeing BJS in prison and realizing she's his weakness. So the timeline really doesn't add up. Means he could have only conjured all this things while literally getting lightning struck. Which is a bit farfetch for me.

No, sorry I just don't think it was intentional. I doubt the subordinate reporting it knew BJS was imprisoned. Only the seniors were alived back then (maybe LY and LiMo) and we doubt they even know he was imprisoned.

I have to disagree that it was a ploy for Yue.
I think it was really just a lapse from the script.
And think about it, if they were trying to fool her, why even mention a lie? That info wasn't even relevant to her then.
They could have literally said nothing and not mention him at all.

And my personal main issue is with XJS. His schemes are just way too farfetch and they made him so overpowered. As I have written, it doesn't make much sense him 'arranging all that' to ensure that BJS arrives at the perfect time to slash his own son.
And he has all that puppeteer power overseeing what HRY does while literally getting lightning struck?, I just don't buy the explanation 'cause he practiced dark arts etc'.

I know people overtheorized so I was listing all including the exaggerated ones. Don't get me wrong, I love story so I wanted it to make sense and be logical. But we have to admit there are several plot holes or storylines they hinted but left undeveloped.
And about ep3, I see no point of them lying to Yue. She just happened to walk there while subordinates are doing report. I think I'm accepting this as a lapse from the writer that they forgot it.

Yep. They did a lot of foreshadowing scenes earlier raising expectations. It's kinda disappointing they didn't build into that and weren't able to wrap up nicely.

7) Yin Tongzi is not ShiAn, child in the ferry is also not ShiAn #justiceforShian🥲

Yep, but his whole gameplay is so illogical. Aside from the inconsistency that was mentioned in ep3, I'm really just not buying that he can control those puppets to mess with HRY while getting lightning punishment.
Plus, how does he know BJS will escape and have the perfect timing of slashing his son.
One milisecond miscalculation and BJS and HRY would have better chance to work it out with ShiAn there.

And if that formation can revive, why not revive his own family.

Or like reveal that that formation is fake and that is only a fake ShiAn illusion.



I would have liked if they fleshed it out more.
I like the drama so I'm overthinking it hahahahaha
