I think she was really good in TTEOTM : her character maybe not so much but her acting in the scenes where was screaming and crying in despair (like that scene when the evil female strangled her after revealing she killed he’d grandma or when she would cry when sacrificing herself for TTJ) really made me want to cry out for her and hug her (and actresses who make me want to hug them when they cry aren’t a lot). I could really feel her character’s despair and heartbreak
lol, i can’t help but notice a little foreshadowing in the trailer : the last lines, when Xie Wei says « People in this world, Who loves you » : Zhang Zhe, her first love, appears « Who cares for you » : Yan Lin, her childhood friend appears And finally : « Who needs you » : Xie Wei appears !

There is one time-traveling/rebirth in the novel However, what’s interesting is that the female lead isn’t the only one who got reborn : there’s at least one other character who was reborn and some others end up remembering the past life’s events, helping them understand some things
Pretty serious There’s the man she used to love in the past life (and who also loved her but they couldn’t be together because she had ambitions and she ended up hurting him ; and they both eventually realized that no matter the love, they couldn’t go pas through the pains they had caused each other) The male lead is therefore pretty jealous of this guy… but how should I say ? It’s not in an unhealthy way. Rather than making him possessive of the female lead, being jealous of this guy is one of the things that make him understand his growing affection for her And then there’s a 3 guy… who doesn’t really take a part in the love triangle. In the past life, he loved her and was her childhood friend, she rejected and totally gave up on him when he was in troubles and as a result, he also eventually hurt her (don’t liked how the novel somehow implied that the pains he caused her was entirely her fault and not really his though) and their relationship turned very angsty and toxic. In this lifetime, she feels very guilty towards him for the pains she caused him but also can’t forget the things he did to her so although she tries to make up to him, she can’t accept or love him.
I Hope Ni Yan will get other main parts after this : the drama itself isn’t so great (cute but that’s it) but she’s doing a great job here ! And she has such a good chemistry with Yan Xi !
