Not sure whether I should keep watching this… On one hand, this looks damn frustrating : his mother and grandfather are really TERRIBLE people. Basically, they told him that his father had raped his mom and that they were chased with the baby. What they didn’t say is that both of them had actually planned for the mom to seduce the dad (grandfather went as far as bringing the dad to his daughter’s room himself and to remind her to hit on him on their first meeting ; he’s no better than a pimp selling his daughter), that they went as far as to physically attack the grandma and the lawful wife and kept provoking them in their own house, relying on the fact that she was pregnant ; and then, when the son was born, they accepted a huge sum of money to leave the baby to them but ran away with the son AND the money. And from the moment he was born, they decided that they would fill him mis head with lies and ideas of revenge, so that he would take their fortune and they could enjoy it So not only the grandfather is a pimp and the mom is like a prostitute (I know : that’s insulting towards real prostitutes) but they’re also hypocrite liars who have the nerve to present themselves like victims and are even willing to use their descendant and ruin his life for their benefit. And more important, it seems that the male lead is gonna be extremely annoying and behave like a pimp for the sake of his revenge and is also gonna hurt his childhood sweetheart (a part of the ending song makes me wonder if he’s not even gonna rape her) But on the other hand, I want to see how he reacts when learning the truth and if he really ends up hurting his friend…
Edit : yep, I’m dropping this. Seems the male lead is really willing to seduce EVERYONE (no gender limits) to reach his goal. I hate a manwhore male lead
Is it not too early to make a remake of this drama. I guess master devil do not kiss me was successful I don’t…
Honestly ? I think you’re right If the drama wasn’t very successful, I’d get it, but it was a hit. And it’s just a short length drama so I really don’t see the point
Although I agree that GXT should shop taking this kind of unpopular dramas that aren’t very attractive to the audience and take an interest in more popular genres (I mean, she’s still young and she’s very popular and has a long career so she should enjoy it while she still can) I do think it’s quite sad how viewers somehow seemed to blame her and mock her for that on Weibo. I mean, i agree with the main idea but the way they would say it was so agressive…
The whole drama isn’t something itself but I’m crazy about the female lead I just discovered ! She’s pretty, charming and I love that her acting is natural, charismatic and not cliche. I hope she’ll get plenty of other parts !
Honestly ? Not my type. It’s definitely good but for some reason, I’m just not into it (maybe it’s because I had guessed the twist about the son and it made me too sad for him) However, I have to admit : in my opinion, Liu Yi Tong (the son, Qi Shuo) is definitely the star of the drama. Let’s not even talk about how touching and funny this character is, I just love the actor’s natural and funny dynamic. I had only seen him in very secondary parts until now and I’m glad he got this opportunity to showcase his performance. I honestly he definitely carries the whole drama and outshines everyone with a funny and natural charisma that makes you want him to become your best buddy
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE RATING? I was so excited for this, is it really that bad?😭
First half is okay But it slowly but surely goes downhill and leaves you EXTREMELY frustrated (villains barely punished, lot of hypocrisy and the good ones take so much suffering)
I’d say, the only good thing about this drama is Deng Wei’s acting : I had some doubts about his acting before but he definitely won me over here Weirdly enough, his one kiss with the female lead in episode 38 inspired me more feelings than the lead couple during the whole drama (or even, actually, the whole drama). This episode during which for once, he decided to give it all to save her, without caring about the rest, was so touching, especially how he hugged her when they were resting, as if for once, he could finally have her just for himself for just a moment, and this one moment was enough for him…
WANTED TO WATCH FOR luo-zheng , but he aint the male lead
he's still an important character of the story and he definitely got his own storyline (and his own girl). If it is for him, you should definitely watch. The drama itself isn't extraordinary but Luo Zheng definitely got enough screentime here
