why rating is low this is best c drama i have ever seen
Usually many Chinese (traffic) actors/actresses will have haters who are very strongly against them and will go to great lengths to try to put their dramas or movies down, so they will purposely come give a low rating.
Reading down the list of comments here in MDL I already saw a few who flat out verbally attacked Wang He Di and gave a bad rating because of hating him as a person.
Then there are some who will watch 1 or 2 episodes and say "Oh, I don't like this" and then will give a rating.
Personally I think one shouldn't be allowed to give a rating until one has finished watching all the episodes, after that one would be allowed to give a bad rating if they feel so... but it is allowed to give a rating even if they haven't watched any episodes, so this will still happen.
So, my style is to give a good rating fast, then if I feel the drama didn't keep up the good level, I will come back and adjust my rating by lowering it to the level it should be. But by giving a good rating at first I fight back the haters who have nothing better to do than hating other people and trying to ruin their accomplishments.
Only 10% of the whole drama has dropped. Why would anyone rate it so early?
Sometimes people might rate a drama based on their initial feeling, and then adjust the rating they gave later after finishing the drama, either give a higher or a bit lower rating based on whether their initial assessment was exceeded or if they felt the drama didn't keep its initial level. Some trolls however will right away give a bad rating trying to bring a drama down on purpose. Knowing this, some will give a good rating right away to try to protect the drama rating from dropping too low because of these trolls. If the drama rating falls too low some viewers who are trying to decide whether to watch or not might decide that based on the low rating maybe it's not worth a watch at all. Which is why it might be useful to give a rating early on, and then later adjust it after finishing watching the drama, if one has given a bit too high a rating.
Finally! I've waited for so long and it's so good. I'm so happy and pleased with the drama's beginning, a promise of a really good drama. Wang He Di's acting is such a joy, all expressions on his face, his goofiness, how he delivers the lines, everything. The family is absolutely hilarious, I laughed so hard. I can't wait for more!
Seriously, WHAT HAPPENED?!! His last biggish role in a half decent drama was in 2022 Love in Flames of War, and then all of a sudden: nothing. Just a few small guest or support roles in some dramas this year, clearly below the roles he used to get and not the kind of roles he should be getting. Does anyone know what went wrong?
Pang Qi 😭😭😭I'm sad I didn't get to enjoy Hou Xiao longer, only for a few episodes. (Here on the MDL role list for Kill Me Love Me he is called Pang Du Tong).
Lol well sometimes, dramas are filmed years before they are aired. Same themes can't be helped... it's just how…
Been watching since 2020. Finished watching 128 dramas, dropped only 6 dramas, 10 are on hold, watched dramas from as far as 2015 until the very newest dramas, so NO, I'm not a newbie to C dramas, and NO, not all the plotlines and themes are the same. Yes, there are similar themes all around in dramas, but a successful drama manages to make something new and fresh from it, create some "magic" that makes the viewers love the drama. No, The Double did not invent these themes, I didn't claim so, don't twist my words. I said that there's only a few months since the last drama with very similar plotline, also, as some others mentioned, some similarities to Blossoms in Adversity, also a hit, that finished also this year some months before The Double. The comparison is because there's so much of the same very close to the release of another drama with the same elements, and if we include Blossoms in Adversity, then there are two dramas with a lot of similarities in them within a year. However, I didn't feel any problem with Blossoms in Adversity and The Double having some similarities, they both managed to create something new, different, beautiful and captivating. So having similarities isn't a problem as long as the writers and the director together with the actors manage to capture the viewers hearts. Basically anyone who wants to watch C drama will have to prepare themselves to practically watch the "same thing" over and over again, it's how C drama works. But the art is in how to make "the same thing" new and different. The Rise of Ning has the different element of fake siblings which will differenciate it from The Double. It's just hard for me to not be bothered by too much of the similarities so that I could focus on this dramas plotline and the delivery of these actors. I am guessing there were some problems created by not being able to deliver the original plot exactly as in the book, there was a rebirth storyline in the book and now it is not allowed all of a sudden in the dramas, if I understood correctly. So they have had to make changes to the plot a lot. Perhaps that has created some of the issues I feel here. But as I said, hopefully it changes enough soon to make me want to keep watching. I'm just having trouble with the beginning. But as I usually finish a drama (only dropped 6), I'll very likely finish this one too. At the end I'll be able to see what was special about this drama and how I compare it with my other experiences, how much it moves me, if it captivated me or not. It's too early to tell.
I've been looking forward to this since last year. It just started airing and y'all got so much to say already.…
I've watched two of her dramas fully before, and have one of her future dramas on my "Planning to watch"- list. Everyone has some actress or actor they just for some reason do not like. I guess it's called chemistry or something, someone I feel a chemistry with and someone I don't. I personally don't really like Ren Min, but it's just my preference, and I still watch her dramas and give her a chance unlike people who don't even watch someone's drama and still make a comment as if they knew what they are talking about. There's no point in getting upset with people who do not like some actor or actress that you love. Countless times I absolutely loved an actor or actress or some drama or movie and saw other people making negative comments and say they hated them or it. I learned pretty fast to just overlook it. It's because we are all different and couldn't possibly all like the same thing: we like different foods, different hobbies, different music and art, fall in love with different kinds of people. Just accept. You'll feel better if you just ignore haters. Spare yourself the trouble of trying to correct them. Not everybody needs to be the same. Just enjoy your favorite. Clearly there are people who like her acting, otherwise she wouldn't keep getting more roles, right? As long as you support her, it's enough. Others might think differently, but it's okay, as long as they don't go too far and start behaving in a malicious way, that's not cool. There should at least be some kind of respect towards other people's different opinions, I disagree with bashers and haters because the moment they start behaving nasty, in my opinion, they lose their right to have their voices be heard. People will never agree when it comes to their taste or liking etc, but they should at least have some manners. Sorry if your favorite is getting hate here on MDL or some other sites. Just enjoy the drama anyway!
The Double did this "daughter accused as a child of hurting the pregnant favorite wife of the father and sent away for years and returns and is still mistreated by the father and his cunning favorite wife" already, just some months ago, and The Double did it really well, so that's a huge disadvantage for this drama. The timing of the release of the drama is not very good since there's now unavoidably comparison with The Double which was a huge hit drama. Hopefully I can get over it, but I keep remembering everything from The Double, even the nasty sister is there, and the FL's loyal maid servants, and the grandma who is frustrated with her son and dotes on her granddaughter, and the FL is smart and brave like in The Double... Finding it hard to get into this story. Wish there would have been enough time between the release of these two dramas, or that the directors wouldn't make dramas that are so similar to each other at the same time. Maybe later the drama will be different from The Double, enough to make me get over this and be able to keep watching it...
