anyone still like this drama? i love it so much so i'm confused reading the negative reviews
I love it a lot. I see a lot of the reviews having problems with the characters being different from what we're used to(so many blurred lines and grey characters) but I find it all pretty intriguing and hilarious... it makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it makes my heart flutter. I can't wait for new eps.
Maybe its because I've been watching a lot of revenge dramas lately... I kinda like seeing the ML's approach to things(I know, I know, theres some plot stupidity too but STILL). Not everyone's response to situations is the same. He isn't thirsty for revenge. I'm not saying standing up and fighting is wrong. I just like that this character is different. He isn't curious. He knows who had a hand in the bad things that happened to him and he does hold a grudge, but he isn't looking for confrontation. He just doesn't want to see them all again and relive the past. He decided to move on and live a different life than the one he originally planned. He didn't put up walls and didn't shut people out... he just chose to keep smiling and being witty in spite of his reputation as a bad omen, even thought he harbors some deep-seated fear that the people e gets close to will leave. I don't see why he should be condemned for that. At the rate it's going, the "Big Bad Psycho" is literally dragging his own ass to hell - he doesn't really need "good guys out for revenge" to escort him there.
Overall, I guess this drama isn't meant for people who need tight scripts with no logic holes. There's a lot of weird stuff but I love how crazy and cute it is. I'm interested to see how all this plays out and how ML handles his past experiences being forced in his face. I found that a lot of the characters dont have straightforward, cut-and-dried personalities that let us easily classify them as "good" or "bad." There's lots of information that they're holding back. SML seemed like a person I'd have SLS over but now I'm backtracking... I sometimes don't thing Sam Joong is the main villain and the brother might have a bigger part to play - both of them are psychos but I can't help but wonder what actually happened and why the mom doesn't leave.
Given the actress looks her age (30), irrespective of her character's age, I think it was a mistake to make a…
The drama itself doesn't make a big deal of her being "younger" anyway... they hardly mention her age and even when they do, it's only in relation to the timeline of events, like the mom running away and the dad going to jail
Im so happy to see autism representation in a kdrama.
ikr even in Jinxed At First, there's an autistic character and they incorporate him very naturally in the story, he's not kept in the spotlight and his struggles aren't exaggerated or drawn out... he's just a part of their big family and that's it. They speak out about autism very subtly and it isn't smashed into your face.
older man/younger woman i saw somewhere he was 26 and she was 21(in drama life)(
Just my opjnion, but i dont think five years is much... true older man/younger woman is like Goblin, Young Lady and Gentleman, etc. And the drama should draw attention to it.
Or maybe im just confusing it with the "Age Gap" tag lol
The summary is slightly misleading. They made too big a deal of things that get resolved pretty fast and don't talk about the actual mysteries. The FL isn't exactly a deity and the two of them dont seem to have a large enough age gap to tag it as older man/younger woman... idk
For now, I'm really enjoying it. I don't really mind logic holes as long as the story and characters are fun, so this drama has me addicted. The entire cast has nice chemistry, and I like the variety of characters. There are lots of personalities that aren't cut and dried, black and white. I like them one minute, hate them the next, and then go back to pondering what their true intentions are. The dark stuff almost made me give up at first(i was expecting a romcom with some melodrama) but then they introduced the supporting Seodong Market cast and I could instantly relax, seeing all those familiar ahjummas and ahjussis ðŸ˜
Reminds me a little of Legend of the Blue Sea... FL is hilariously adorable but ML isn't a tsundere. It's nice to see someone so strong with a traumatic story, but who still smiles, is kindhearted, acts silly, laughs and interacts with everyone. That describes both main leads, actually. The mystery arc is kinda dark but they manage to keep the overall story fun and lighthearted because the mains don't let the circumstances around them stop them from being happy dorks together. There's lots of really witty comedy and both actors pull it off well.
A Business Proposal, From Now On Showtime and the currently airing Jinxed At First are all really funny dramas. FNOS and JAF combine it with fantasy and some dark stuff but they're predominantly hilarious romantic comedies. Big adorably dorky casts and loads of physical anf dialogue comedy.
Maybe you're just not searching for the right genres. This genre and style of comedy is very distinct especially in Kdramas. I didn't even have to watch the first ep to know what it's like. It's my favorite style of comedy(more physical and over-the-top, makes me laugh till I can't laugh anymore). But not everyone likes that style.
Maybe if you tell us the type of stuff you like in your shows, or your favorite shows... other drama addicts here could help!
Are there any more dramas from category 'Makes you feel alive again'??
Depends on what makes you feel alive ;) Stories that get your heart racing or slice of life shows that give you a "life is beautiful" feeling in the end?
