I’m not even mentioning the victim blaming he’s been through anymore because it just triggers me too much and I prefer to not get involved in pointless discussions with people who are supporting that attitude. If TSJ would be a female character he would be treated much differently, I think.

I am also admiring TSJ as character. He went through hell but he still stayed true to himself. I don’t understand the hate he’s getting. He’s always trying to do the best thing possible, makes the hardest decisions. There is no agression or violence in his actions (except for the moments he’s trying to physically protect XY).

I think people forget that what XY loves about him is exactly what he’s been hated for the most.

S1, Episode 34, 00:06:07 XY said to him:
“The shackles you can’t break free of are actually your gentleness. And it is your gentleness that makes me like you”.

One can say he’s a coward, never doing anything but from my perspective he’s not a weak or cowardly person at all. He could just leave and live his life as Shiqi but he understands his responsibilities. He’s also a type of person who chooses to stop the cycle of violence, because I have no doubts he could just tell everyone what his brother has done to him and that would be enough for him to be killed. He’s not choosing the “easy path” but the other way around. He doesn’t care what people think about him, what he mostly care about are other people’s feelings.

You may say he hurt XY but what other choice he had? She was fully aware he’s been set up by his grandmother and fiancée. She knows he would never leave her for another woman willingly. What broke her that much is the fact she instantly knew that as soon as FFYY was pregrnant their relationship was doomed, because TSJ will do what he’s supposed to. Don’t you think that if he would leave a pregnant woman that would mean he’s no longer the man she fell in love with? It’s the helplessness of this situation that made them both so heartbroken.

It’s just kinda sad, because I feel like some people like to hate on him just because they think XL or CX are better. They can spend many time looking for the depth in XL or CX choosing to not to do so with TSJ. His character has depth too.

He doesn’t care what other people think about him, he’s not looking for either the recognition, money or power. What he wants from life is living peacefully with XY and that’s it.

Not letting anyone or anything changing his intentions to be a good and responsible person is his biggest value but also the curse.

Actually, the most egoistic thing he’s done in his life was falling in love with XY. He chose to stay with her as Shiqi as long as he could before he was discovered, not caring about the responsibilities as TSJ. Then wanted to leave his clan just to be with her.

Personally, I equally love both TSJ and XL. They both have their flaws but that just makes them more believable as characters. I like CX as character too but maybe not with XY.

I think we may agree that she was angry at herself at this moment. She lost herself in the process, almost married a man who didn’t even really like her, more like her position as a princess. Like, girl, wake up and stop being so stupid (yeah, I know she’s depressed and feels lonely, but where is her true spirit?).

She’s lucky to have XL around her, seriously.

I cried. Hard. How can anyone hate TSJ, I just don’t get it.

XY left them but he stayed a part of that family, coming back as Shiqi every few years. He must’ve been missing them and those old times so much 😢 The only times he was trurly happy.

I cried so hard during the last minutes of this episode. They didn’t have to show the retrospections of them being a happy family during the best days. I miss those too 😢

XY left them behind but it was TSJ who was coming back every few years, despite being the chef of Tushan, still staying part of their family as Shiqi. I don’t know how can people hate that man, seriously. And the fact that he’s been always aware she has feelings for XL and he makes sure that’s her who chooses whom she wants to be with. I’m absolutely sure that if she chooses XL he would be heartbroken but at the same time, if that would make her happy, he would be happy for her, too.

That’s also something him and XL have in common - they both just want the best for her, even if it’s going to hurt them. And girl, you didn’t have to be so harsh to XL. He saved your ass risking you’re going to hate him and loosing his identity as FFB. His sad eyes 😢 This man deserves the world, despite looking like a red flag he’s all green and developed so much since they met.

They were acting like two spoiled brats in this scene. They obviously have feelings for each other but none of them wants to be the first to admit.

Good he was there to help her 🙄 She’s lost and depressed, her decisions are far away from being well thought. He was willing to sacrifice their relationship and the identity of FFB just to save her.

I think he's quite smart and he suspected she's not marrying out of love. Another thing is I have some bad feelings about CFL, I think he's up to something. But I may be wrong, I didn't read the book.

I have a bad feelings about CFL. I recall his (over)reaction when he found out about TSJ and XY, he threw a tantrum like a toddler (he didn’t even stand a chance, XY obviously didn’t like him like that).
He doesn’t care about XY, he maaaybe likes her as a buddy but the most tempting part of her for him is the Princess identity. Ew.

Him completely ignoring her when talking about the wedding was just a cherry on the top. I don’t like him, I’m suspicious of him, he clearly is after the power, not good for XY, even for the political marriage.

Tbh, at her place, I would also refuse to see that the guy I was seeing as my family, a brother to be exact, has some romantic feelings for me. I know some people here mentioned that in the past the close cousins were not considered as too close to be in a relationship but I feel like XY was always treating CX as her real brothers not only the cousin. In her mind the romantic connection has to be extremely close to impossible for them, so she’s blatantly refusing to see all the signs.

When they showed this memory and that he was tricked by FFYY who made herself looking like XY. This man’s life is an endless series of misfortunes. Still hard to believe he managed to stay a good and gentle person, sometimes even naive in some way.

ZWY is absolutely nailing this role. And looking at the trailer, he’s been just warming up in those first episodes.

Same here, I am rooting for both of them. In the end it’s only XY’s choice which matters.

I wouldn’t mind if all three of them end up together living long and happy life. I’m not into polyamory, but I guess that’s the only exception in dramaland for me 🥲

How does it go against XY?
I didn’t read the novel but I’ve just rewatched the season 1. It’s very clear that XY loves TSJ because he’s considerate of the other people.

Quote from ep34, 00:06:06, when TSJ comes to XY to tell her about his grandmother’s illness and that he needs to take over as the clan leader within 3 days:
XY: „The shackles you can’t break free of are actually your gentleness. And it is this gentleness that makes me like you”.

It’s clear that XY would not be against his nephew reaching out for help if needed. She wants TSJ for herself but I’ve never found her possessive (unlike CX). I don’t really think she wants him ONLY for herself, more like she wants him to be with her forever and that’s a difference. It doesn’t exclude other people from their lives.

It’s just my perspective at this moment, but I also doubt that TSJ would leave a kid if he would be needed. He’s always trying to do the right thing.
