I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday. “I don’t recall a revenge on a villain being so fitting and satisfying. It was a surprise, but how thrilling it was to see the villain’s end”. https://kisskh.at/profile/vvn2154/feeds/lXOpwte I was probably typing it as you were writing the review. I agree 💯
Agreed. The pacing of this drama was a pleasant surprise. You are correct about the main couple on-screen chemistry, chemistry is not only about romance. Their romantic interactions may have been warm throughout but their chemistry was sizzling. I am not sure I will re-watch though since, the edge of the seat feelings will be gone.
"Something about this drama just did not click well with me, even though I should love it. I still enjoyed it, but there were times when I played the episode out of obligation of wanting to finish the show, rather than excitement or seeing what will happen next. " This. May i use this as my review? Cause it sums is up perfectly.
all great picks including Because I miss you, make me want to rewatch LITM The entired You're Beautiful is great... and i love all the versions of Without Words - but Still is my fave....... (maybe because this was the drama that took me down the Lee Hong Ki rabbit hole!)
also, WHY - years late after watching Full House, i was watching the Thai version and everytime the had the pieces of WHy i was instantly thrown back to the original.... but i won't lie - BYUL I think I love you if my favourite from Full House.

Wow, such a great article! I was thinking of making a list with great umbrella scenes and stumbled upon this amazing…

Well done, easy to read and I like the structure and the topic is thought provoking! great job! I find that essentially all Asian dramas there is an overlay of overall sense of gratitude through the concept of filial piety. It is not a prevalent concept in the West to have to look after your elders and family etc.. not in the way we see on Asian dramas. I often have to shift my thinking to understand that kids are expected to be thankful to their parents and express "gratitude" in the form of looking after them for the rest of their life. I remember doing one of my "rabbit hole" searches into this concept a long time ago... one of the things they mention is " Filial piety not only extends to behavior of children toward their parents, but also involves gratitude toward the human body they received from their parents,[21][39] as the body is seen as an extension of one's parents.[32]" The respect that children show their parents does seem to flow from gratitude for their care and everything they have. In my mind the culture itself is one of gratitude. So it is not surprising that there are so many examples of gracious acts in dramas. Thank you again for a thought provoking topic... well done! I can't remember where it read that idea first but this is where i took this from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filial_piety
